Do you still wear khaki?

I wear khaki pants and shorts. Up top, I wear a navy shirt (SS). On days where layers are needed, I have a grey shell or black sweater that I "coordinate" with the khaki.

My flip "kit" is black pants/shorts, and grey shirt (with royal blue shell or a blue-green sweater for additional layers).

To me, the color of your pants/shorts is indicative of how good you are. If you're a single-capper or scratch, then you can wear white and/or anything that Ian Poulter wears. Kinda like, "yeah he looks ridiculous in those threads, but he can reach a par 5 in two... so who cares?"

Khaki is both a color - a light shade of yellow-brown - and a style of pants, originally known as chinos. Both the color and the pants style originated in the military. Neither will ever go out of style.

No khakis and no pleats here. I don't see anything wrong with them. Older gentlemen wear them all the time and they look fine.

I'm out there to play golf and score. Hell I care if my shorts/pants are khaki or a different color... That's the problem guys are more worried about if their wearing khaki and not worried enough about being a good player.

If this site didn't have these types of threads, this site would be as boring as khaki colored shorts/pants.

boring? BORING? you aint talking 'bout khaki like that 'round here! every colored shirt goes with it, even white (as long as you wear a colored hat...) like, i 'rocked' a gray ping hat with black letters, with a black shirt and khaki shorts today, and while nobody complimented me, i could tell they were impressed...lol...

I am wearing Khaki today. Uniqlo shorts with a navy belt and navy shirt

Socks will be navy and shoes will be bomber jacket leather brown.

Nothing wrong with it. Kids today don't know how to "dress for success" everything is too casual. Khaki is supposed to be the "dress down color for work" Chinos and a nice dress shirt was business casual for a long time. Now business casual is a pair of slacks and a golf shirt. I love to wear a nice polo shirt, but its still not as professional as a dress shirt

IMO, dressing nice will never go out of style. even if it does, its just one more thing that will separate then "men from the boys"

"Khaki" particularly the lighter shades like stone aren't and will never be out of style. At some point it became overused as in its all anyone ever wore but it's still a fashionable color and style. White is too overused now IMO. Gray becoming the new khaki in terms of use but looks great. Navy I got away from for a long time for shorts and pants but now becoming my favorite.

Although I will occasionally break out something very bright and colorful it's hard to go wrong with the classic combos:

Gray/Navy and vice versa

Love all black

Yeah, khaki is for old, lazy, fat guys with no sense of style.

I always come to a golf forum fashion tips.

Those trousers are not khaki colored, they are more like stone.

Really? I think that is calling it a little tight! lol

I'm 30 and still rock khakis on a daily basis, on and off the course. I'm not sure I even own a pair of jeans that fit me anymore. As for khaki being in style, I'm pretty sure khaki is a staple in most wardrobes. Look at the generations. You see business guys that are 60+ and fraternity guys that are 20 wearing the same khakis and polos. It's a style that doesn't go out of style. Very traditional but timeless. Khaki shorts/pants go with basically any color, but I'm a fan of lighter colored golf polos/button ups that have some type of pattern to them (small horizontal stripes, checks, etc).

Very well said

Key points are A style that doesn't go out of style.

Very traditional but timeless

Khaki is a staple in most wardrobes 20yrs. to 60yrs.

The thread the OP started was about the "color" khaki, not "Khaki's". The pants you noted are not khaki the color, they are stone. They are not even close to being khaki colored. You might want to look at a color wheel.

And those "styles" you showed are horrible. I don't know anyone with even a modicum of style that would wear any of those. They look like they lost a bet and had to wear the ugliest stuff they could find.

No, there are dozens and dozens of common color names for a reason. Not everything is a shade of something else. Are you going to call brown a darker "shade" of khaki? No, of course not. Just like stone is not a lighter "shade" of khaki, it's just stone.

There's no standards in the clothing business for calling any color whatever they want. Sometimes they just makeup a name. It's true that there's not much difference between stone and cream, or beige and tan, but khaki usually has much more brown and green in it to think it's the same as stone. Maybe you're partially color blind, it's more common than you think. :-)

Mr. Purple shoes,

I am not color blind sir, but you are quite extreme in your defense of what you think is the proper shade of khaki.

You must be a color expert then.

I will now have to turn in .......................off to my Khaki tent. weeeeeeeeeeee

Living in Texas, I can wear shorts most of the year. Yes, I have khaki and stone colored shorts. All of them are polyester or some synthetic material blend other than cotton. I do not wear cotton anything so the traditional cotton khaki pants are a no for me. Colors to go with khaki...green, red, brown, black...what can't you wear with it. While I do have several pairs of khaki and stone colored shorts, my normal go to colors for bottoms are black or gray.
