What iron's fit this description?

The Bridgestone J15 and Srixon Z545 and Z745 will definitely give you the feel you're looking for. The JPX 900 forged checks all the boxes as well, though there's a bit more offset than what you'll find in the MP line. The MP-5s are surprisingly forgiving despite their appearance. They're definitely more forgiving than the 69s you're currently playing.

Mizuno ST 190G w/ Fujikura Motore X F3 6S

Mizuno ST-Z 15° w/ Fujikura Motore X F3 7S

Srixon ZX7 4-PW w/ Nippon Modus 120 Stiff

Taylormade MG 50°/54°/58° w/ Nippon Modus 115 Wedge

I'd drop the forged requirement and check out the iBlades or S55's.

Help me narrow down a few irons that fit this description:

Forged, forgiving, low offset, smallish sole, thinish topline, compact appearance.

Thinking Mizzy MP25's but would love to hear others.

Thanks in advance for the help

Look up PRGR ID BL, the version with an arc behind the muscle. Get them used at under $400 and you can thank me later. I know you probably won't take this post with more of a grain of salt, but it is the only set I have hoed that I regret selling in the last 5 years. They fit your description to a T, with the added bonus that they will make mizunos feel like hitting top flites with a cast knockoff iron.

Seriously, do it. If you can handle playing a brand without name power in the USA, It would be the best leap of faith you could make for a sum you can get most of back if you really are not happy.

These are them, they are a br more in the US, but you can find them with modus shafts and a 4 iron pretty frequently. I think my set sold for $450. They are endo forged and believe me, I don't throw out endorsements willy nilly, the only other irons I would endorse with this kind of confidence are titleist 962 dci's and miura small blades.

Well if you look at my avatar, i'm sure you can tell I am aware of non "brand name" clubs. Played Epon for a few years.

If they make my Mizzuno's feel like hitting a TF with a cast knockoff, im in! Lol..

Thanks for the advice, I will look into them.

I had the AP2's and didn't like them so obv those are out. I play MP 69's right now but looking for something with a little more forgiveness without sacrificing too much in the looks and feel department.

Maybe it was a shaft issue.

BTW, I play AP2's in short irons and AP1's in mid irons. Seems to work just fine.

I know these have been mentioned, but J40dpc's or J15dpf's, extremely forgiving and albeit a larger blade length, very small offset throughout each set and very sleak toplines/sole width. Feel is subjective, and much of this is sound. If there is a premium on feeling a 'pured' iron shot, several times a round vs many very good, lesser feeling shots, than these aren't the ones. If you are looking to hit more consistently and lack superb ball-striking, puring shots shouldn't be your focus and thus, neither should feel for the most part. I will take a more muted, less feedback-feeling club all day if it gets my ball in the hole more often. Another guy said it before, but buttery feel and forgiveness are nearly opposites. Leaning in either direction takes you away from the other, although, some do feel better than others.

Yup on the PRGR IDBL's.

There's not a ton of info on the idbl's but what is out there is all positive.

Took the advice of Bigmean, Tsupo, and a few others and jumped on a set.

These are a few years old but are fantastic.

They have stopped all my hoing on Forged irons, as per your description.

These will pay for themselves 10x over on the savings from not experimenting on more endo forged product.

I F'ed up and sold my set with modus 125s. I was at the time assuming all JDM was one bed of roses after another and flipped them on eBay. I should have kept them and between them and my small blades I would everything covered....I took the leap based on tsupo's and another recommendation and it was worth it...I just blew it with ho'dom......

MP-5 or MP-25. The MP-5 will probably be closest to your 69s with a touch more forgiveness. I believe they're a slightly larger head and the channel back design gives them a bit more forgiveness. The MP-25, which their undercut cavity in the 3-7 combined with the Boron metallurgy, might not have the feel you're looking for.

I know the feeling of needing to keep trying to improve on what we already have. Sometimes it takes selling them to make us realize how special they were. Yours had some real nice shafts. But replacing them isn't out of the question for a good Ho. I like your term ho'dom...... You could start your own site Bigmean's Ho'Dom.....
