Because it went from legit equipment conversation to dopes taking it to something different. Tiger played Mizuno blades forever as an amateur. And who knows what he will do with driver and fws but right away people take it and make it silly because they hate tiger. It's a joke. Leave the thread as it was meant to be.

point taken however as much as I like this site there's a lot of people on here who profess to know shiat who turn out to know jackshiat. When pictures were first shown of Rory's Cally irons there were people pixel peeping the photos shouting "photoshop - fake". People w/all of their "sources" assuring that Tiger buying TM was all but a done deal. Speculation about Tiger w/Miura. There's a lot of people here who would like to be thought of as insiders and are actually idiots. For what its worth this is a streetlight, not a UFO. And if you don't understand this reference you need to get out more.

My post was a tongue in cheek shot at all of the supposed insiders and experts here who in reality don't know d!ck

I know Dick. He's a nice guy. Don't know why he was brought into this.

Now how can that be possible if he just bought Miura and has a pending deal w/TMAG to buy TM I ask you?

Nicklaus is buying Miura

I'm like 98.6 percent sure it was a joke.

For the 500 millionth time.

Tiger played ping eye 2 irons in high school (not forged by Muira)

Tiger played mixed set of Mizunos (14/29) thru college and start of pro career (also not forged by Muira)

Tiger then played a couple of different designed Titleist forgings 841, T (those were forged by Muira and stamped Titleist).

Tiger then played Nike forgings 3-4 designs (also not

forged by Muira)

If Tiger is testing Mizuno they are not going to pay him millions to use their irons..maybe a consideration for 2000 vintage Tiger but not 2017 Tiger

He doesn't have to "go to" anyone and I hope he doesn't. Love seeing Nike guys playing mixed bags. Just play what works best and spend Nike cash like its play money.

I can see the woods, as word on the street is that Callaway's new offerings are (wait for it) EPIC

The irons, no. Those irons he's got are hand forged personally for him, and they'll be the last thing to go

I was told by a club pro down here in OC that he was spotted testing the Cobra Single Length irons.

Actually that's not true. Would make you wonder what would happen to the single length industry though

Right? Like if he started wearing a kilt. You just wonder what would happen to the kilt Industry.

Yea I hope he doesn't either but I thought Rory would do that as well and he signs with callaway. Tiger is a business man so I don't think it will be all that long before he does sign with someone

I was scrolling through my twitter feed and per @TwSpot Big Cat was seen extensively testing Mizuno Irons and Callaway woods by another medalist member. He supposedly has tested multiple different mizuno sets and a deal may be in the works.

Mizuno was more than expected but it seems he may be following Rory into Callaway woods. Anyone else seen anything?

@twspot also said that Tiger was ...

going to play in Houston.

100% going to play the Masters

changing his swing to have a pause at the top of his swing.

going to buy Taylor Made.

practicing at Medalist(was spotted that day in Mexico).

My favorite is when he tried to get people to buy illegal merchandise to "support" his free twitter page. The guy is a clown that has the credibility of SecretTourPro and GatoradeDave.

I believe at the time Hoffman was doing forging for Titleist when the T stamps were released. Muira never did any forgings for anyone, but Miura may have.

It's been repeatedly reported that Nike will pay what they owe on the contacts to their staffers. And that any money they get by signing with another company merely offsets what Nike has to pay. So if they are paying Tiger 10 bucks for 2017, and he signs elsewhere for 1 dollar, Nike owes the $9 balance. So I'm not sure how being "a businessman" equates to making a deal with any OEM. I don't know how many more years Nike is paying Tiger, but if I were him I'd play exactly what I find works best, not be obligated to play any club I felt was a compromise simply to satisfy a contract. And roll around at night in a pile of Nike cash with a couple of tour issue strippers.

Uuuuhh. What?

Any company that could afford to would be overjoyed to pay him millions to play their clubs.

Was coming here to post the same. Don't buy anything put forward by that account. Ever.

Regarding Tiger/Mizuno, I've got nothing but speculation at this point. I was told there was going to be an announcement on Tiger's equipment earlier this week (a specific date was given, and that date has passed). So I'm glad I didn't say anything about that, because that certainly didn't happen.

I had heard some Mizuno rumblings, but his blog post made me think that was not imminent. And I'm not seeing anything or hearing anything out there from anyone that I trust regarding him and Mizuno. And trust me, no one wants the Mizuno thing to happen more than I do.

My predictions for Tiger's bag in 2017

Driver: Taylormade M2 but I would love to see him play the JPX900 to shake up the driver industry a bit. He probably had access to the Epic for testing during is testing period. Maybe they weren't allowed to play it right away but I doubt he will change. Tiger is a creature of habit.

FW: Taylormade M2 since they are glued and he loves is glued heads.

Irons: Mizuno MP5 or Prototypes. (3-pw) old time lofts meaning Pw at 50*

Wedges: Vokey's 56-60

Putter: Trusty Scotty cameron NP2

I am thinking the reason why Rory and Tiger won't sign with anyone is not only the promise for the Nike money but that they want to show how they can affect club sales so they can get more money from the next manufacturer. Meaning, with the Epic, Callaway had a projection of X sales at launch, now with Rory playing them they will sale X+Rors influence. This will show them how much Rory moves the needle in the equipment game. This will help with negotiations for the next contract.

Tiger wants to do the same to get the most money out of the next manufacturer. They both move the equipment needle hard so...business decision, YES!

I think that Canadian Sebmour hit the nail on the head with Tiger and Rory's plan. These guys don't do things with out some sort of plan. Now i'm sorry, cally is giddy with rory playing their woods and irons and tm is deep down wishing tiger will play their woods. these two companies, esp. tm, is all about selling drivers.
