Would you rather sit near the tee box or near the green?

 

Tough decision....

 

At the tee box you get to see the guys swing, but miss all the action on the green. I'd probably rather be near the green to see the balls land and watch em putt.

 

Where would you sit?

I've been there. Sitting by the Green is so fun. Because the hole is so short, you can still see them swing.

 

All the crowd interaction is fun. They keep the language and comments relatively clean, and the experience is just unlike any other tournament. It's a blast.

Love the response so far. Yes, I suppose being strategically located between the tee box and green is probably the best. Although I have to admit that Sean2's idea of hitting the tee shot rather than watching it would probably be the most fun.

I've done both and can say...

 

if you're most interested in the golf then by the tee, its like sitting behind home plate

 

if you're most interested in the fanfare and debauchery then by the green or along the left side where the players toss the swag

 

although, if you can score the area at the top of the back right stands you can watch 16 green and 17 tee at the same time, which is pretty cool

i would probably say where ever the easiest escape route is..... i may have a touch of the ism listed above because large crowds are not my thing either.. i manage and i wouldnt call it a fear as i dont think im afraid... as in fight or flight , im not running.... But i do keep my head on a swivel and tend to feel anxious rather than enjoy myself... so maybe tee would be best, or up on the back area where you can see 17 tee , with a legth of cord so i can repel off if need be..lol

For those that have been. Whats the best course of action for tickets? Going for my bach party next year and I know you can buy GA tickets an get there early but you can also buy individual Sky Box tickets on StubHub, box is more expensive obviously but which is better?

Bladehunter beat me to it. The spot where you can see 17 too would be best. Gives you more action to watch than just one par-3. Anyone been/can you see the whole 17th from the top of the 16th grandstand?

I'd imagine you'd have a tough time picking a seat. Thing gets crowded fast. Actually i'd probably want to be in the middle where they usually hand out freebies

If you sit near the tee box, you'll have the best up close view for the longest and may even get to hear them speak for a bit to their caddie.

 

If you sit inbetween the tee and green, you've got the best chance to score some swag.

 

If you sit near the green, you get to watch the approach shot AND the chip or putt.

 

You really can't go wrong... but still the best view is from the Thunderbirds Family Lounge on the 18th! Check out this sunset pic I took on Friday this year...

LOL, nothing could go wrong with a bachelor party on 16 - now I'm going to have to watch next year. ;-) And next day just tell them they were in a luxury box - they won't remember.

At the Ryder Cup, "International Pavilion" was stamped on the ticket to give you access. Was "debauchery" stamped on the ticket at the Waste Management?
