My Apologies

Apparently my thread about Titleist and Poser bags was shut down after being reported as Trolling. How it could be construed as such is beyond me unless someone reported it after just reading the title (my bet). For the person that reported it maybe PM me why you thought I was Trolling? My apologies if I offended anyone as I wasn't making a judgement just wanting opinions for myself. Thanks and have a good day.

I think the problem is any time you start a thread that insults a whole bunch of people for no reason, i mean, that's the definition of trolling. Now, perhaps that wasn't your intention, and maybe it's been a legitimate personal experience for you. But surely you can concede that your personal experience is limited and there are many many guys who play titleist from driver to putter, because they like them, and they are good players.

 

What happens when you come across a "Are guys who play all Ping G series clubs talentless hacks?" thread?

I do have to question anyone trying to differentiate posers from the real men who dress brightly to go out on green grass to hit a little ball around.

 

We're not exactly curing cancer here. Although I suppose some researchers do play golf.

While I didn't think there was anything wrong with your thread, and I do agree that many people are entirely too sensitive and wussified these days, it's the mods job to keep a clean house. It's what I really enjoy about this place. Things are kept civil, friendly, and overall cordial. It's a gentlemanly place to be for the most part, and it takes a great group of mods with sensible judgement to keep it that way.

Cannot think why anyone would report the thread. Nothing offensive at all. I ve seen people slag eachother off on here, say borderline racist things about some of the Korean lpga players and that gets reported. Wow

There's lots of threads about judging people by what's in their bag...I'm sure it came down due to half trolling and half topic has been rehashed many times.

Didn't take it as trolling but could see where the Mods may have anticipated it going down a dark pathway.

 

As another member said, in reality we are all sort of posing. We wear caps with logos on them, use OEM clubs and equipment, and pay incredible amounts just to play the same courses our heroes play. And unless we are gambling we are paying a fortune for it all the while.

 

But who among us doesn't hold the "pose" when that perfect iron has been struck and is heading right at the pin? Most of us probably do it out of habit because (in my case) we are so fixated on the result and so hopeful at the moment that it turns out as good as it looks and felt. And don't even get me started on talking to the ball as it is heading out.
