I took a trip to world woods with my father back in 99/00 or so. We had a blast. Not much to do at least back then other than golf and more golf. For our purposes that's all we wanted. Great courses. Great range. Amazing practice putting green.

what are you looking to spend? Streamsong is $250 (i believe right now) world woods is significantly cheaper than that. Both are a blast, they're just very different from one another.

My flight leaves around 2 the next day so I'm hoping to squeeze a rd in at southern dunes also. ( hear good things about that place as well)

Southern dunes is a fun Smyers course. You'll enjoy it!

If you're already going to be at Streamsong, don't go to Southern Dunes for your last round. Southern Dunes is a very fine course but it is not on the same level as SS. It will be a bit of a letdown. Again, it's a very nice course...it just happens to be in a pretty stereotypical FL development and that will be a bummer after coming from SS.

If the conditions are good at World Woods, I'd take it over Streamsong. 2 really great courses and very affordable. And while you're out in the middle of nowhere, you're not at the end of the civilization like you are at Streamsong.

If you have the money and don't want to worry about conditions, then Streamsong is it.

And it's not that World Woods isn't in spectacular condition, but they have had times where it's not up to the high standard it deserves.

Streamsong is a great facility. I personally prefer the red course over the blue but they both were fun to play. With that being said as good as Streamsong was it has nothing on Northern Michigan golf. If you want to play some of the best courses in the country then head to Northern Michigan as they are dirt cheap to play.

Streamsong becomes more reasonable starting may 22nd. Down to $125 for public ($85 for resort guests). My opinion is that its a once play type course. WW is playable many times. By May it will be in the 45-55 range for public play.depending upon during the week or weekend (Friday included). That includes a cart at WW. Streamsong is basically walking so carts/caddies extra.

WW is definitely the better bargain and value by far.

But both sets of courses are exceptional and worth playing.

Think I'm gonna go to WW then play TPC or (if there are any other recommendations) on Sunday

TPC Tampa is a nothing golf course. Good condition, lousy layout.

I'd play Fox Hollow or Southern Hills, if you're going to be near WW. Lake Jovita also has a couple of good courses in the area.

If you don't plan to play streamsong then go play the copperhead course. It is in amazing condition right now. Was just over there on Saturday. Just fabulous.

I played 36 at lake jovita last Wednesday and the greenkeeper has essentially fixed any flaw the last couple of years. It is in fantastic shape.

I haven't been back to tpc tampa since before the renovations. The back 9 is a monster and very respectable. Conditions are usually top notch. I would recommend it.

Guys, when considering these $200+ rounds at SS, don't forget you'll have a caddie there.

Be ready to tip at around 50% of the greens fee.

I've played it. It was nice. It was fun.

World Woods was also nice, more fun as there were more courses. And you can take a few rounds there for the same price.

And you won't have some Haines City burnout yakking your ears off.

I don't believe caddies are mandatory at Streamsong?

caddies are not mandatory; forecaddies are when taking a cart

regardless, it's worth it; love that place; love the food; love the course(red); love the sandy greens; love the layout; and when you're playing the red, you can see the black course to your left on the 3rd hole around the dunes

the black is going to be a monster

I have been dying to play Streamsong for two years now. Planning a trip for this fall when the black is open. Doak, Coore & Crenshaw and Hanse courses all in one spot? Yes please!

I I played Red/Blue in November and just got back from a quick trip there in May. I'm from California and I think that it's worth a trip. My friend who joined me said it felt like Bandon in Florida. We used a caddy both times/both courses. Red is a 5.-6 mile walk and Blue is a 6.5-7 mile walk. Lodge is great. Service at course is great. Service at lodge isn't quite up to what it should be -- I have gone only in shoulder season and they seem understaffed and undertrained. Not unfriendly or unhelpful, the opposite, just don't quite have their act together. The Black course is "done" but the construction on the new clubhouse specifically for Black looks to be in the early stages. I'll be going back again once the third course is open. Highly recommend.
