So i watch the Masters pre-show and highlights this morning. There's interviews with basically everyone, analysis about most of the top guys and the type of stories it would be if they won. For like 30 seconds there's a clip with Adam Scott where he pretty forgettably is like (paraphrasing) "well i suppose i could win if things go well"

 

That was pretty much it. Our thread about Masters Sunday favorites i don't think even mentions his name.

 

This is a dude with 45M in earnings, 1 major, 1 players championship 10+ wins on both PGA tour and Euro tour, has dated a movie star and pro tennis player, and used an anchored putter so hideous that i think it single handedly got them banned

 

Despite all of this.....Nothing. Everyone would be fine with him winning, no one would hate on him for losing. No one accuses him of flipping clubs, killing bugs, getting upset at shots , being spoiled, breaking people's hearts blah blah etc.

 

He just exists in this expectation-less bliss that he has somehow stumbled upon.

 

I think i asked this in a thread a few years back, but is there a pro athlete anywhere that has it better than this guy?

Nope there isn't, I've always said if i could switch places with anyone it would be him. Perfect swing, rich, good looking, and doesn't majorly stand out so he could live a normal life and basically do whatever he wants without it being a major headline.

He's like the friend that everyone has who is really cool and everyone likes, but he only shows up at like 3 things a year. And he entertains you with well times jokes and non-offensive stories....and you leave thinking "i should hang out with him more".....except you don't for whatever reason

 

At the end of the day it's impossible not to like someone who is nice and non-offensive, if you get it in the proper dose

He's just a pro. Justin Rose is somewhat the same. They just don't cause issues, they're reliable for their sponsors, they're great players and they blend in because they don't have a huge ego.

 

If people want to aspire to be like someone - they should aspire to be like these guys. Polite, competent, humble and gracious. Professionals in every way.
