Put me in the Caddytek camp. I had a 4 wheeled sun mountain cart that broke down one me so I went through this process about 2 months ago. I really wanted to get the 3.5 but I took the chance on the Caddytek it's much cheaper and built quite nice. Folds and unfolds easily. I also drive a Honda Ridgeline and it fits perfectly in the trunk in the bed.

I was going to buy from Costco but all they had was the lime green so I checked out TGW and I got 20% off and free shipping. Quite happy with it

Any thoughts against/for Rovic vs the "real" Clicgear?

I have a 3.0 and by looking at the pictures of a Rovic a couple of issues come to mind. Firstly the front wheel is quite a bit smaller making it less stable going over bumps etc. At least I like to send the cart free on slight downhills, give it a good push every now and then on level terrain and just walk on my own for a bit etc. The smaller front wheel might cause some issues when doing that, especially if it's the swivel wheel model.

Secondly, it doesn't have the net compartment for some quick access stuff. I personally keep an extra ball or two there, mittens in the autumn etc. I'm not a fan of using the hatch compartment as I need to keep the handle in its most upright position (I'm 6'3") and every time I open the hatch, some scorecards or tees are very likely to fall out from the compartment.

Thirdly, I doubt I'd like the foot brake even though I spear myself in the gut a couple of times per round with the hand brake as forget it. :D At least I use the brake pretty much every time I stop to play the ball as it becomes quite habitual and I don't need to worry whether or not the cart will take off on its own. That's easily 100+ times touching the break during a round and if it's even slightly difficult to use, it'll start to irritate you.

Thus, I suggest spending the extra money for the 3.5. The cost difference isn't much when you consider you might be using it for hundreds of rounds.

Back in the last 90s I had a electric cart for my club. It was nice, but a pain to put in the car/jeep. I've thought about going this route again. Might have to look into them...thanks!

Honestly if I had it to do all over again I'd get a electric trolley from MotoCaddy. The course I play the most in very hilly and some days it would be nice to walk and not have it be a workout.

They keep making them smaller and lighter all the time. Lithium Batteries are awesome!
