  9. Food has always been a big thing to me , if you haven’t already noticed. Growing up the youngest of 5 boys. The dinner table was a cross of good food and a battle field. One night as we were dining together, a fabulous fried chicken dinner, 4 fryers between 7 people , all was gone but a breast. Each one of us staring at that one piece , each wanting that last piece but we had one rule from dad , do not reach across the table . Ask if you want it passed on the plate. The rule breaking on this was precarious that night because the plate was right in front of the old man. A sudden lightning bolt

  12. Me too. To all of what you mention. Was thinking about this the other day. How the circle has closed down to very few. Was thinking about Reasy also. Especially as a couple of relative newcomers have deciding to come through the door and engage. Getting to know the cast of characters. Full fledge "members" immediately upon pulling upon a chair and composing something. But this whole thing started with Reason creating the joint. And it took off from there. Hope all is going as well as possible for him. Yeah, there's no swing thing analysis quite like Reason's. (Rads get

  18. https://golf.com/gear/golf-balls/equipment-change-bryson-dechambeau-after-masters/ Not sure if this has been brought up elsewhere in the forums but I'm left scratching my head. Bryson just re-upped with Bridgestone and has been the face (along with Tiger of course) for their new golf ball campaign. He has a rough week at Augusta and all of the sudden he needs a "new" ball to fix his wedge game? I personally have played the current B X extensively and noticed better spin into and around the greens than the previous generation. It's not nearly as spinny as the B XS (Tiger's ball) but

  20. Like most illnesses this covid is very particular who it kills off, reading last week they are now looking at the persons DNA and that can determine how severe it sill be. The one thing that gets to me is those who have had a mild case seem to think that is how everyone will react and dismiss it as a mild condition, if it is so mild shy are thousands now in the ground. My other concern was reading a doctors report of conspiracy theorists that are actually on their last breath from it and still refuse to believe it exists. As with all Grillers we are being cautious even though Australia has had

  27. I was in the store last night picking up my fairway wood, and asked them about the wrench. They said they weren't coming with them anymore. I looked down below the counter, and noticed a Titleist bag with a wrench, and the instruction manual for $24.99. I told the guys that if you spend $850 on 2 clubs, this should come with it. They said they hadn't sold 1 of them yet, but Titleist wasn't giving them out anymore. Glad I've got 10 or 15 of them at home, but for someone who is buying their first driver, it would suck to have to spend the extra $25 in order to make any adjustments.

  30. How else should I have read his use of "magic elixir" ? It sure seemed like he was telling people how to think. Shaft length is the other variable, and that really matters. The shorter the shaft the easier the club is to hit. You could just as easily say "my 37 inch club now goes 10 yards farther" than "my 7 goes 10 yards farther". Different golfers will gap better with strong lofts, others won't. Its not strictly bad. Its a marketing gimmick but its not a fake one because they are not increasing the shaft length. That's why his comment is both ignorant and condescending. T

Interestingly enough, I fail to see why you would take the time to post in a thread that you don't care about. Especially when your comment is nothing but negative and self-serving.

  33. With the Christmas season upon us now the steady stream of parcel deliveries has begun. A couple arrived yesterday. Three more are in transit, perhaps today or tomorrow. When DW quizzed what I had received I said stocking stuffers. I had bought stocking stuffers for her to wrap and put in my stocking -- a 2 pack of FootJoy Weather Soft gloves and a double dozen of WS Duo Optix balls in matt neon green. I had them toss in a couple of Lamkin Sonar grips for inventory, after all I've got to regrip that newly arrived ladies hybrid. May as well take advantage of the Black Friday sales that ar

  34. Absolutely agree, our social circle has disappeared, DW had three good friends that no longer get in contact and our art society is at a minimal attendance, it will be this way until the virus is under control. I look several times a day hoping for new posts, this forum is keeping me sane.

  35. I miss Reasy. I had hopes that when he popped back in for a bit earlier in the year that he might be ready to resume participation. I think there was even some swing talk at the time to tempt him back. I don't know about the rest of you, but the world has become a much smaller place for me in these last number of months. Our social circle has shrunk down to a handful of people. I still see the guys from golf and curling, but it's definitely at a distance and there's no socializing before or after. Just get on with the game and then go home. I'm thankful for y'all h

  44. I might be a little off on this but i believe many lefties are not necessarily "natural" lefties, they are "sports" lefties. In Quebec, something like 30-40% of golfers are left handed, an absurdly high number. Why is this the case? It's because of hockey, where many kids grow up shooting left handed because it provides them a needed skill (being a lefty is valuable in hockey). You tend to see MUCH higher rates of left handed golfers in Canada than in the US and i believe it is mainly due to this, our obsession with hockey. I know many people who shoot left in hockey but are natur

  47. I think the one thing going against this being a bombers paradise is the fact there are only 2 Par 5's. I generally feel shorter course tend to benefit the better iron players A player like a Celine Boutier might be a good pick but after missing that 3 footer to force a playoff with Danielle Kang, Celine's game has kinda been in the wilderness.

  48. At least with any Masters events people are going there once in their lifetime or are paying ton of money to attend so the patron aren't as annoying as other venues where your typical drunk guy yells after every tee shot. Cellphones have killed live show experience for me. I don't hesitate to be rude with them. I paid around 180$ to see Pearl Jam, I don't want any guy filming the show with his cellphone. Tool is the best for this. They don't tolerate cellphones during shows.
