1. Does look cool And I think there were a few protos.... might not make much as people will be unsure?... Bet it plays well though!
2. Hi All, I dither and change my bag what seems like hourly!.... But have always really liked to hear from the guys in the know!... So what quotes or snippets of info you guys fall back on?.... Currently I have… Butch Harmon – Lob wedges cost amateurs more shots then any other club…. Tom Wishon – your longest iron should be the one you hit well 4 out of 5 times… Stan Utley – Use one wedge to do most of your chipping… What have you guys got?... Please share…
3.
I like having a lot of wedges so that my gaps are pretty tight on full swings, but around the greens I prefer to keep it simple. I only use my lob wedge (60* bent to 58*) and 8-iron around the greens. Rest of my wedges are for full shots. 4.
Why not do the opposite and simplify even further, drop the 60 and just use the 54. See how much it will effect the score, if at all? Do an experiment with 5 rounds of each set-up and see if the average score differ much. It would be interesting to know.......
Like this idea..... I really think my short game is good, so would prove if it has a detrimental affect?...
5. Hi all, I'm a good ball striker based over in the uk and like to think I have an excellent short game as is........ So why would I change?... Silly question....... So..... I don't see the need for lots of options in the long end of the bag, and almost feel guilty.... Which constantly has me wanting to add another wedge, other then 54, 60..... But.... Just because I could, should I? Or do any of you guys think too many options just confuse things?... To top it off I'm also a Stan utley fan and prefer to use one club round the greens..... What do you guys do.... Keep it simple or loa
6. I play national EGU events over here in the United Kingdom and have never heard even a mention of it at an event...... I agree with the last post that it's probably to avoid confusion... That and it would be suicide in a declining sport..
7.
Are the 2007 X-Forged grooves conforming?
Nope, but as a scratch player I've never been asked at any of the egu national events I've played? I also think the ban will never be enforced as 90% of golfers won't buy new irons over here In UK, they'll just disappear slowly.
8. I'm feeling a lot of love for the cally's... I might have to move back as they feel awesome, an I trust the grooves... I'm a very competitive amateur and feel the groove rule will probably disappear anyhow, as no way most weekend warriors are gonna buy new irons.
9. Sounds exactly where I am."..... If they had Titleist stamped on I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue
10. Hi all, Long time lurker and avid reader of posts here.... And as a true golf wrxer I just can't decide between two sets of irons I have..? Which are.... Cally Xforged 2007 - I've got good memories with these and a club champs under the belt.. I love the feel of them and even debadged them to look cool.... As far as performance I always found the leading edge a little sharp, but really like the older grooves. Or... Titleist 712cb/mb combo - now being a Titleist tart these deffo win the looks and have a rolled leading edge.... But but quite as nice feeling, and rake the grooves and di
11.
I think sometimes we focus too much on the number on the wedge. I had a friend asking me this the other day and I told him to go find a wedge that you hit 100 yards, then work your set up or down from there.
great post...... 100yds are pretty well always marked on courses over here in the UK, so makes sense to have a club that you know the yardage from there. And for some reason even though I hit it pretty long I only hit my pw 120 'or so, therefore I just don't have big gaps at the lower end of bag..... 54/60 for
12. Yup..... I gave up when I realised the difference in clubs is nigh on invisible!.... I mean they who must be obeyed are telling us irons and wedges will now go backwards performance wise, and drivers were maxed out a few years back!... As a massive Titliest fan I just can't see why I'd upgrade to 910 from 913! I'm a scratch golfer in uk and can't imagine the differences are discernible buy guys of my standard or below....?
13. Good to have you back buddy...... Those irons are just the best ever!
14. and a great book ! Okay I've been reading this for a few days,..and after 2 range sessions think its awesome!...Bit chilly here in UK and wouldn't normally practise this time of year...But I'm all keyed up!... Anyway, the point of my post being that.... I never really understood the rotation of the leftarm before reading this, and it seems to really improve my strike!...
