I really like the Wolf Creek "Old Course", find it challenging & was fortunate to win a 2 day tourney there back in 2010, got to keep the tin cup for 1 year. Cheers D.

It was a 2 foursome format. I imagine each team had 4 judges keeping score & watching the other team like hawks. Was told the winning team didn't even buy a round ... cheap. EDIT: The golf course included a full meal & the guys had to eat out side following the new Covid rules. D.

Sylvan held it's annual Cash Scramble today, watched a few teams come in on #18 from across the fence. Twenty - 4 man teams 80 guys @ $800.00/Team = $16,000.00 There was only 4 prizes up for grabs, #1 got $3,600.00. The 2nd, 3rd, & 4th places were all tied & they split their winnings. They had 4 KP @ $300.00 hole, one guy won 2 KP's - $600.00 not bad. I believe the winning team was from Sylvan they shot a 56 or -16 under. A few teams didn't do so well at 65 or -7 under. It was a BTY warm day, the bevy cart girl was smiling all day, recognize any of the team captains. D.

Sept 10th - Today was a fun day, shot my lowest round of the year, had a couple more birdie putts that didn't drop, those were Kansas City "Paul" aka "Vernon" Takie's ©, for par's. Got 61 rounds in since April 13th when the home course opened was told they will be shutting it down on Turkey Day weekend. Easy game .... hope you're also having fun enjoying this terrific weather. Tks we booked a rental for 3.5 months in Cat City, hoping the border is open for drive through traffic by January 01st otherwise we fly and will ship my clubs. If that's the case will have to figure out what to do for a vehicle, but we decided that won't stop us this winter. We had travel insurance last time they closed the border & we got it again in the event the Gooberment close our border once again. Started this Palm Springs thread and continually update it, it's up to 15 pages of helpful tips & info with lots of pic's of courses in the Palm Springs area. Have a look ... clink here.

I've purchased a number of items from forum members in the USA and well on E-Bay. I always insisted on them shipping via USPS/Canada Post and if they won't I decline. Only had 1 bad experience were the guy told his g-friend to go to post office and send my item and she decided to sent it FedEX, who now wanted me to pay the Custom/Duty & Brokerage charges before they would turn over the item. Not sure if the rules have changed recently, but normally when it's shipped USPS/Canada Post I haven't paid any of those additional fee's because most often the seller puts a low declared value on the item or says it was a gift and Customs don't bother with it . Every item I purchased from the US, close to or over 100 golf items, mainly club building components & they have always been delivered with a tracking number, for me the system works. For the past few years I spend 3 months in Palm Springs every winter & no longer have any issues. Perhaps others here have more recent experience shipping to Canada can chime in & share. Cheers David
  11. I stuffed about 40 ft of $1.99 Walmart yarn into my G425 to get the s/w up to D5, it also helped muffle the alum bat sound a bit. After 2 rounds I didn't like the heavy s/w & used a thin piece of wire & bent a small hook to fish out about 25 ft to get the s/w down to D3. Prefer the lighter s/w & it still sounds better than with no yarn at all. Take a Hex key or Allen key & remove the plastic screw next to the shaft & stuff away, just don't get too carried away your also adding s/w to the head. The second pic is my garage engineered custom yarn stuffing tool, piece of solid strand wire with 1/8" covering removed, makes stuffing fast & easy. For your consideration. Cheers David
  12. Get those bush balls out of your system & play well during your tourney. Our C.C. was this past weekend, it rained like crazy, real tough conditions. A few guys with 1-5 cap shot mid 80's one 2 cap shot 92 on Sunday .... ouch. Wish you all the best. David
