  1. thanks guys if anyone else has input i'd still appreciate it. bucco
  2. how do they compare? What makes these shafts different? I'm needing to lower my short iron flight and raise my long irons, I currently use x100's +1/4" in mp60's 2-pw. I spoke with Joe K, he recommended for me the 7.0 softstepped once, but i forgot to ask about the differences in the 2 flighted models. any information you folks have would be great. Thanks ya'll Bucco
  3. what percentage, and who?I was looking at the tour player setups on Ping's site last night and noticed probably close to 3 out of 4 (maybe more) of the ping guys use reminder grips. it made me wonder if this is indicative of the rest of the tour? I don't know why it was surprising to read that but i'd be kinda interested to know who else uses reminders on the tour. Thanks Bucco
  4. if my pro95x was originally cut to play at 43" in a TM Vsteel, .335 tip, will i be able to play it at 43" in my Titleist 906F4 if i swapped the shafts? If not, what is the insertion depth and what would i be looking at for a final playing length if the shaft is not tipped or cut? anyone have any ideas... thanks ya'll, Bucco
  5. what is the difference in a counterbalance shaft vs. a non counterbalance? i'm using a v2 86x and am curious how this compares to a counterbalance v2 in terms of feel, spin performance etc? any idea on what the counterbalance costs? sorry for the thread jack'n thanks, bucco
  6. ok so i've read some reviews and the info from the copied post above(thanks mr. divots). does the adams idea pro, have a little bit of offset to it? to my eye it looks like there is but as i said i'm new to the hybrid game, never gave them a second look until just a few weeks ago. the titleist looked very good to me and with their custom shaft options, I would probably be going with the hybrid v2 100x or a steel shaft, probably the v2 though, but i see tons of people raving about the adams hybrids. do most people find that the loft they need to replace is the loft of the hybrid they
  7. help...The topic/title say it all really, I've never owned a hybrid, and am seriously considering one to alternate with my 2 iron (19*), depending on playing conditions. For those of you who have made a similar purchase for similar reasons, I'd appreciate you weighing in on this as it's uncharted territory for me. In terms of looks, these are the 2 i've settled on as options, Titleist 585.H and Adams Idea Pro. This is as far as i've gotten. Prior to hitting these this week,I was hoping to get whatever suggestions or advice you folks may have. I'm looking for something to fill the gap

  9. i get it now, from the bottom up is the pertinent measurement. thanks if i do a custom order from Titleist, a 907d2 9.5* w/ v2 86x, will they do a full bore insertion or do i need to specify how deep when i place my order? thanks folks. bucco
  10. Thanks thewitt, if i understand this correctly then, in order for the shaft to play at it's stated flex or as though it had not been tipped, it should be inserted at 1 to 1.5 inches? can anyone confirm or correct my thoughts on this (or just comment further)? I'd appreciate as much feedback on this as possible as this will be my first Titleist driver and i don't fully understand all the effects of a bore thru design. thanks all, keep it comin if you can. bucco
  11. how far to insert a shaft so it plays true to flex?hey folks, the title and description are pretty self explanatory, but if i'm putting a v2 86x into a 907d2 head, how far should it be inserted to play true to the stated flex? My understanding is that the bore thru of a titleist driver causes shafts to play stiffer than stated. i'd like for my v2 86x to play as close to a typical x as possible, my ss is 115 to 120, but i'm concerned that the v2 86x will play to stiff if it's inserted too far. any ideas? i'll be playing this combo at 45" thanks in advance folks. bucco
  12. update, I just got done hitting the 906f2, w/ v286. the looks are very appealing, and it felt really solid, but i was tending to launch it a little on the low side. i'm thinking the 906f4 would be a better fit just based on the shallow profile. The Vsteel looked a little closed to my eye, albeit quite solid. I can't afford an r7 TP. i'm thinking worst possible scenario, i order the f4 15.5 with v2 86x. if it launches too high, i can put my pro95x in to bring the flight down, assuming there is no problem with a shaft that played at 43" going into a bore-thru head...(any concerns abo
  13. thanks uno, the pro95 feels so smooth, i love it. i'm going to order the 3w today more than likely and am on my way right now to demo a couple, the F2 probably being the front runner. since i have to order with a shaft installed, i was going to go v286x since there is no upcharge but if i don't like it i can put the pro95 in later. what i'm concerned about is that if i put the pro95 in to the 15* F2 will that be too low launching...? do you or anyone else know which 3w the Vsteel is closest to, f2 or f4, in terms of playability, feel, launch, etc? Thanks again, bucco
  14. can anyone compare these at 15*Title and description make the point of the post. I'm looking for a comparison from anyone who has hit both. I'm about to pull the trigger on one of these and need to get some qualified feedback. I'm make a slightly descending blow at impact. I tend to launch my driver a degree or so low for 115-120mph SS, but i hit my irons/wedges quite high. I'm coming from a 15* TM Vsteel w/ fuji pro95x which I caved in the face of recently. I hit this club solid and on a nice trajectory. I'm thinking that since i carry a 2 iron and no other fw's or hybrids, a 906F4
  15. 906F4, steel to graphiteIf i order a Titleist 906F4 with a steel shaft, can the steel shaft be pulled and the head reshafted with a Fuji Fit-ON Pro95x 1-time pull? The Pro95 is a .335 tip if i'm not mistaken and was in a TM head, untipped. Anyone have any suggestions or concerns before i embark on this little project? Thanks in advance folks. Bucco
