  1. First of all, price gouging refers to when retailers and others take advantage of spikes in demand by charging exorbitant prices for necessities, often after a natural disaster or other state of emergency. Last I checked, no one was gonna die because they couldn't get one of those limited release items. Scalping is a totally different thing. As many have mentioned, if you have been here long enough, you would have seen that it is nothing new, and have been debated over and over. This really sums it up as well as anyone could put it. Of course there are still ethical exceptions to even the low volume items as some people were selling GolfWRX giveaway items like they were hot potatos, hence those were banned.

  4. Yeah something was up with FedEx in Portland around mid-Sept. My driver shipped out on 9/12.. scheduled to arrive on 9/16 but didn't show up in Portland until 9/18, Then scheduled delivery date was changed twice and had just gone out for delivery today 9/27. last week, I emailed DD asking if I should be concerned since there was no updates or delivery date scheduled. They told me they have been seeing multiday delays with FedEx and they were nice enough to contact FedEx to inquire about my package and told me that it's likely to get delivered on Monday. Update: After a day of "On FedEx vehicle for delivery", now it's back to Updated delivery:Pending So.. we are back to square 1.....

  6. There they are! I had a set of these.. got rid of them a while back and have been kicking myself ever since. DId you make them satin yourself?
  7. yeah.. it does make quite a difference. Good thing I am in no particular rush.. but the delays is pretty annoying. It's definitely of no fault of DD.
  8. well.. I am not so lucky.. placed order for a driver and 3w on 8/30 through DD.. got email confirmation that order was placed next morning.. didn't get PXG's confirmation until 9/3.. then nothing until I inquired on 9/10 and was told that shafts were on backorder.. then got an email clubs were shipped out on 13th, expected to arrive at DD on 16th.. now it's 20th and it is still in transit to DD. Rescheduled delivery date is today (20th) but it's not showing to be out for delivery even though it arrived in Portand OR on 9/18. It'll be at least another week before this makes its way to me so we are looking at a month at best.
  9. That's really well put. I tested HZRDUS black for a little while when it came out.. it was awesome but had the feel was a bit harsh.. I loved the shaft and hated it at the same time, then it broke under the grip (seems like a common spot).. By then the testing had moved onto HZRDUS T1100, which was vastly better, I guess I hated it enough that I actually turned down a replacement from TT. Then my T1100 broke at the tip.. Fujikura guys read about my mishaps and offered me a TS Black to try. At the time my feeling was that it's sort of a softer T1100. The feel is worldly better than HZRDUS Black, very close to what T1100 felt but not quite as stout. Then PX came out with Even Flow Black.. and it feels almost identical with Atmos TS Black. I never actually looked at the bend profile of these two but I suspect they are very similar.
  10. Dude.. you and your experiments. I do have a tour issued Superquad and matching R7 steel 13*.. both with the blue shaft. Not X flex but marked TS.

  12. No. the opposite. Adapter would most likely be fine but shaft would not be. Graphite shafts are not meant to be pulled out over and over as the resin would break down by the heat needed to loosen epoxy. You said you have a few uncut ones. why not get a few extra adapters so you don't need to pull and install again and again.
  13. Don't mean to side track... but since we are talking about different kinds of epoxy.. I have been mostly using JB Weld instead of these golf epoxy. It has been working really well but anyone know any drawbacks for using that?
  14. Hmm well the last new driver I bought was a 2017 M1 and it was through a friend with insider price.. the last new irons I bought was Srixon z945 on clearance for $450. Oh wait.. I did just order PXG's driver and 3w because the price was too good to pass up. The retail prices of golf club had pushed me out of market long ago.. I think when drivers crossed $450 and irons went past $100 per club. There are plenty of hardly used 2nd hand ones can be had for steep discount. My entire bag only cost me ~$1000 Now I see Cobra's new hybrid is reaching $500... Are you kidding me?
  15. Has anyone else used this epoxy? It says "sets in 18 hours and cures in 24 hours". 24 hour cuing time is fairly normal for slow cuing type but 18 hour set time?? That seems awfully long.. I had never seen a epoxy that sets in more than 1 hour. I don't know how liquid this mix is but if a shaft isn't inserted all the way in the sleeve, that's an awfully long time for epoxy to flow into the cavity and leaving very little to actually doing the bounding. The long set time would also mean you could potentially damage the bound if you moved the shaft inside the sleeve within that 18 hours, especially towards the end of that period.
  16. Ok so the bound did hold together for 10 balls but came loose to the point that you were able to pull the shaft out by hand. Do you recall if there were epoxy on the tip of the shaft with very clear side walls? Or did the shaft come out looking like the pictures above? (I hope it's not the latter.. LOL), or if there were broken or mushy epoxy bits and pieces? I think that's the most crucial bits of information to see where the bound had failed.
  17. 1. City, State? Warren, NJ 2. Handicap? 4.9 3. Current Iron set? Srixon 965/765 combo with Modus 120X 4. Are you right-handed or left-handed? Right 5. Why do you want to review the Takomo 201 irons? Always love to try new design and technology incorporated 6. Do you agree to participate in an ongoing testing thread, posting reviews and photos? Yes
  18. I could be wrong but it doesn't sound like he actually hit any balls with #3.
  19. Interesting that there is no more X flex option for iron shafts...
  20. I think it would have been very helpful to see some pix of the shaft and tip after the head flew off, and after you pulled out shaft #3 by hand. There is no way properly mixed epoxy would cure and you can still turn it by hand, even if it's only held on by a small amount. If your concern is shaft became too skinny for the adaptor.. you can dry fit the shaft in and see how much room you can wiggle the shaft. Honestly I still do not think it would have failed like you described even if you epoxied a toothpick in there. However, if the shaft is indeed too skinny for the adaptor, you can always add shim https://www.golfworks.com/the-golfworks-brass-adaptor-shims/p/shim/ All fit adaptors are sometime a bit tricky though. I have used them in the past.. one time I bought 2 and both had opening smaller than 335 and I couldn't get the shaft in. Seller replaced them and the replacements were fine. One theory I have is the shaft might not have gone in all the way, and most epoxy might have dripped down to the cavity before it set. That's why pictures of the shaft and tip after they came out would have been very helpful. Also, range usually have protected carts that they can drive out to retrieve the head for you so they don't have to stop everyone. Trust me, you are the only one that have heads fly off at a range.
  21. Hold on a second. 300 Mini stock length is 43.75". How is it possible OP has a "STOCK" shaft alone that's already 43"? That's almost the length of a regular drive shaft. Looks to me what OP is using a reference is not quite stock, or someone ordered it extra long to begin with. Good on @Jut for sending the refund which I would not have done myself. @BoomShakalaka5 should send the money back with an apology.
  22. So after 1 week of trying, I ended passing the whole set onto a golfing buddy who's in the mid-60's at cost and he could not be happier. First day trying it he flushes a 5 iron from 180 uphill, ball hit center of the green, one hop and stopped. I had never seen him do anything remotely like that because he could not get enough spin on almost all iron shots to get the ball to stop. So at least someone gets to really enjoy these irons! DD did confirm that gen 2 was sold out and there was the end of that. I suppose Gen 3 would get there when Gen 5 comes out. whenever that might be. I did notice one thing puzzling.. There is no longer any X flex iron shaft offering. I mean I don't know what other options they had in X flex besides Elevate Tour.. perhaps that was the only option and now X flex is not available? Jus seems a little strange to me.
