  2. I've been playing the the J40 CB irons with Aerotech i95 S flex for the last 2 seasons and recently switched to the J15 Driving Forged with Recoil 95 S. Played 18 in spring-like conditions and I was hitting a lower ball with the Recoil vs Aerotech but the feel in my hands was identical. I was really impressed with the J15 DF as they were a club longer, more forgiving and straighter on mishits. A couple of shots I thought were definitely short because of mishits were only slightly shorter but still flew straight. The ball feels like it jumps off the face a lot faster than the J40s.   4. I'm not sure where your basis for making your statement but compression has everything to do with the feel of the ball. The only reason they're not relevant anymore is because of solid core technology vs. wound technology. When balls were wound with rubber bands, they used to come out with a wide range of compression ratings. In order for balls to feel the same from box to box, manufacturers would test compression and sort harder vs. softer thereby 90 vs 100 compression.
