I did a search and didn't see a thread for this yet, but was curious was everyone's take on this might be...evidently some idiots playing in Hilton Head thought it would be funny or a good idea to beat a wild animal with a golf club. I can actually tell you that you are wrong and that many arenas the fans are right on the players, especially at the tunnel where players come on and off the ice and also at the benches; in addition, especially in Europe, where I also played there is little to separate the fans from the players. Regardless of what the fan said, verbal and physical are two different levels, not to mention, the fan paid for the ticket, they can heckle and chirp all they want. The road team expected a difficult environment, and Reed made his bed, he has to lay in it now. I played pro hockey, and someone yelling "you [email protected]@king suck" is about as mundane and routine a chirp as there is.
