  1. I checked the swing weight today and the 5i came in at D0/1. D0.5 to be exact. Correction on the length as I mistyped original post. Set is 1/4" over standard - 5i is 38.25" with grip. For me the shaft produced a slightly lower penetrating flight than the PX 6.0 I'm used to. Full club longer distance through the set - could be because of the lower flight or the lighter shaft.
  2. Ready to accept I've reached age x100's aren't for me anymore, so parting with my beloved Bridgestone set. The 5-PW are Bridgestone J40 Dual Pocket forged irons with X100 shafts and Lamkin 3Gen Crossline grips in great condition. No shaft labels but I know for sure they are x100. 5i measure 38.25" and D4 SW. The 4i is a Bridgestone J38 with Project X 5.0 Flighted shaft. I used my 4i as sort of driving iron hence I liked the lighter regular shaft. The extra 4i x100 shaft with same grip as 5-PW is included though. Set is in ok condition for an older forged set. Please see pics. Just had loft/lies checked and I'd have to dig up my notes but believe they are 1 degree flat from Bridgestone specs (so the 5i is 61 degrees, etc) SOLD shipped in US

  4. 2015-2017 I was a Speith fan. I enjoyed watching him on top of leaderboards and dominating the majors that 2015 year with "old school" just irons, short game and putting. He was not long and I enjoyed him humbling the bombers. Now he just seems content with his millions, lost with his game and unsure of himself. He doesn't have the fire anymore like he used to and has too chased distance.
  5. I have been on ebay since 1999 and 100% feedback until about two years ago. At that time, I posted and sold a motherboard/CPU combo for $200. I got paid and sent it out no problems. I was also literally moving houses that week and when I sent it out I misplaced the receipt with tracking info on it. I have sold so many things up to that point and buyer had good feedback I just didn't think anything of it. About three weeks pass and I got a notice of product not received yet claim from the buyer. He was claiming I never put in tracking # and that he hasn't gotten item yet. I tried to reason with him in messages that I have 100% feedback and sent it out that night after he paid via Priority Mail. He eventually escalated it to ebay and I contacted them myself as well. They actually sided with me and basically said same that I have great history and I obligated my end by sending it even though I didn't enter in tracking number. They closed his claim and I thought that was end of it. Few days later he opened a new claim at Paypal. Same thing about that I didn't put in tracking info and he hasn't got it. At this point I scoured my new home looking for that darn receipt that would end this BS. I could not find it at all. I then called the post office I sent it from and they could not help me at all. They said they don't keep a database of all stuff sent to or from an address as they deal with millions per day. If I had tracking # they could help me locate it or confirm it was delivered. I must have spent 2-3 hours looking for that receipt determined to not let him win. Eventually Paypal "investigated" and awarded him full refund from my bank account. I literally had zero ability to prevent a refund. I called Paypal and they were so unfriendly and robotic it was a waste of time. I asked them WHERE is my motherboard then? I'll gladly refund him if I got motherboard back. They didn't care and said I should have kept tracking #. The buyer says he never got it, you can't show proof it was sent so he gets refund. To this day I don't know if he was telling the truth that he never got it OR he pulled a delicate scam on me knowing I didn't have the tracking # and odds were in his favor. All I know is in the end I was out a $200 motherboard/CPU combo. Gone... Poof. I was so mad at Paypal I actually thought of disconnecting my bank account from them so they couldn't withdraw the $200 to cover the refund but I read this was a bad idea as somewhere down the line they will send it to collections.
  6. > @golfer929 said: > ... You can just see it in his eyes. Would you mind accompaning my to the race track one weekend? We can sit in the pre-race area and you can give me endless winners. I never knew you can just see it in the eyes on who will win or not and can tell everything from their own will and desire as well as the lack of in everyone else in the same event. B)

  8. I remember Tiger 2012 and 2013 vividly as I would watch every round of his that they would televise. I was really into why he was even with Foley and what they were working on. At times I would think all the Foley/Trackman stuff was producing Tiger's most pleasing looking swing of his career (especially his irons) and other times I would think it was ruining him with way too many thoughts and a tough-on-body swing-left, everything is a cut shot. Anyway, 2013. How he won five times that year (and another 3 the year before) with his driving/tee game is a testament to how good his irons were. He seemed healthy for 1st half of year as he started out his first tournament of the season with a win (and looked good at his own Hero tournament a month earlier at end of 2012). I was shocked he went out so early in the Match play next month and faltered at the Honda but then I remember very well by end of March "this could be an 8 win season" as he just won two more in a row heading into the Masters and looked to easily be his Master's if he could prevent the bad driving there. Tiger was an unfortunate hit flag pole unlucky into water on 15th at the Masters that year (that instead looked would have bit and pulled back for a short birdie attempt) from winning it I think. He was cruising and instead of finding himself as sole leader heading into Saturday, he was 3 shots back after that round and woke up two more shots back after they assessed two stroke penalty (should have been DQ for signing wrong scorecard). He went on to win his next event at the Players, again surrounded by controversy with making noise while Sergio was hitting his approach shot. He seemed to get hurt at the Barclays when he fell to his knees (and again controversy comes up as he looked to have taken another illegal drop judging by the camera angle) , but by Presidents Cup he was again looking outstanding. I was very high on his 2014 season because of how he looked at the Presidents Cup but something happened in his offseason to where he came out in January in Dubai and looked nothing like himself. He looked in pain, slower and trying to muscle the ball I remember.
  9. I don't like unsolicited people knocking at my house to sell me something. The range is no different. I don't care if I happen to be shanking every third ball that day, I don't appreciate someone noticing I'm struggling then giving me advice. Especially if they aren't even good themselves or aren't an experienced teacher. Most annoying are the ones who've read one thing on the Internet or are bringing up "such and such pro does this" and/or "do this drill because it worked for me" while I am trying my best to agree with them but ignore them at same time. Actually the worst are the some of the workers at the golf stores. I've been in Golf Galaxy before just trying a few used drivers and hitting nice 300y draws on their sim only to somehow end up having one of their 60 year old salesmen in the bay with me slowly guiding my arm takeaway "more on plane" and pushing my hips in downswing to swift weight more. Talking about how I should read Five Lessons and it is still relevant and how he was a scratch golfer in college. GRRR
  10. No way. You telling us you are spending $28k a YEAR to play golf? I don't see how that is even possible even playing some of the best courses. Unless you are an aspiring pro and entry fees are that much or this including wagers lost or something. In that case, congrats, you must be wealthy, not have to work and you've made golf a really expensive hobby.
  11. At this point i would bet Tiger thinks he knows more about the golf swing than Butch. He probably thinks Butch is a dinosaur, modern/Trackman is so far ahead and he would have nothing to even learn from him. So NO, Tiger is not going back or even askkng for help from him. Or Haney. Or Foley. He got what he could from each and moved on. Thats how growth works! Would you go back to your business college professor from 20 years ago for advice after having risen to a VP? Now can we please stop these threads!
  12. I know this question comes up once in while and I've also wondered myself. What would a pro shoot at one of the many public "Normal" courses we play? John Rahm played Canyon West somewhere in Texas. Looks like it is rated 72.6/136 from the back. Here is the course scorecard: http://www.canyonwestgolf.com/scorecard/ And here is his scorecard... :swoon: https://imgur.com/gallery/9GvGnOL
  13. Speith was one of my three picks in a pool among friends. They thought I was crazy considering he has been so off lately but I thought it was crazy no one else realized how well he plays here and even going to that place gives him a confidence boost. I'd like to see Speith at Rory in final group on Sunday. Anyone else noticed Rory changed his grips for this event? He has always used Golf Pride Cord Decades but today he just had regular black Tour Velvets. I thought that was a pretty dramatic change. I seriously can't think this was a choice. Why would you all sudden change something so irrelevant? Could it be possible something happened to his real set right before today or tour van didn't have anymore of his Decades?
  14. Here is me on a CG2 earlier this year. Although I honestly question simulators sometimes, not bad for a 45yo...
  15. 9 years now this spring (Seems like yesterday). I am very frugal when it comes to golf. All my clubs have been used, I use used or discounted balls, play twilight hours often as I can, clearance golf shirts, etc. My biggest expense is the range. I pay $60/mo for a range pass for 6-8 months weather permitting. Then also throw in some visits to other ranges like night ones, etc throughout the year. So range time lets say is $300-500 a year. Then I play maybe 1-2x a month during good weather as well. I probably average $45/rd prices. So lets say another 4-500/yr . Then balls/tees/gloves, some random golf shirts, new shoes or spikes. What not. Maybe another $200. So all-in-all between $800 - $1300 year. I am also a tinkerer and enjoy trying clubs and am also very handy so do all my own club work like replacing shafts/grips. Have owned probably 20+ irons sets by now. Many for only a week, others long term in my bag for a year+. This doesn't cost me though as I will most time I take them back to store or resell them on Craigslist. Sometimes just a new set of grips on a set can turn a small profit even.
  16. Well said and all 100% true. It isn't just one issue that they can change something and slow play magically goes away by enforcing it. You bring up a very good point that staff at the courses is a big problem too. Putting out 2 foursomes 8 minutes apart is absolutely going to cause congestion. I've seen crowded courses put a single out, in his own cart, after a foursome with a threesome in front of the four. It went 3-4-1-4(us). That is ridiculous. Starter should be fired. But, realize that time slot with the single was unfilled obviously. If they had denied him that slot he might have gone elsewhere and it would be $70 less in their books. It's not the starter it's the front desk/management, and it's just plain business. If that slot had been filled by a four or a single it would have made no difference for your round, right? (Actually a single would allow you to hit a little sooner on every shot because you wouldn't have to wait for the other three players, he would be the one doing the waiting, right?). But, I do agree that every 8 min is too short. 10 min is better, but again, it is a business decision - golf courses these days have to turn a profit. If the intervals are properly spaced out (and assuming all else is run well in our perfect world), a single would have no trouble in the 3-4-1-4 mix. There would be enough of a buffer between groups that the single could play through and not significantly impact any of the other groups round duration. Of course this assumes that everyone is playing nice, rangers/marshals are helping not hurting, and play isn't already backed up. I was thinking more along the lines that the single should have been forced to go play 20 minutes earlier and join the threesome. More than likely that single has been there long enough warming up, etc. If by chance the single just showed up 10 minutes ago and is asking to go out ASAP there still probably were more efficient places to pair him with after us rather than quickly squeezing him in right now before a foursome goes off. Only way it makes sense he played where he did is if the course is completely booked with foursomes for the next hour or so. THEN I can see the course doing what they did and getting something rather than losing him because he has to wait for a long time to get out. The time slot not being filled argument doesn't make sense. The single is paying his $$ no matter what time he plays, not like there is a bonus from corporate to the course for filling all time slots or something. The same $$ the single paid for the time slot "A" to be filled when it has none is no different than the same $$ the single pays to fill out a less than 4 group later on in time slot "B".
  17. Not with shipping. I'd have to buy 5dz to get free shipping.
  18. Umm NO he didn't. In fact it would have been constituted as Battery had the guy decided to really be a ****** and call the Police. Laughing at your day though. We've all had Bizarro days. Mind boggling when happening to you but funny from outsider perspective. I had one last summer and also at the driving range. Hitting balls and stall next to me the guy in his 40's gets a phone call on his smartphone with most annoying night club dance ringtone. He proceeds to answer it at the stall and talk like he is alone in his office. Loud and carrying on conversation right in middle of a line of us hitting balls. I finally drop my driver after a minute and throw my arms up while looking at him and say "Really?" He then gets it and goes away. So back to hitting balls, no later than 20 minutes later I go to back to sit down and take a break for a few minutes, leaving my bag/clubs and bucket of balls where they are. The bench is like 25 yards behind the stalls. I watch some guy literally come walking looking for a spot to hit and somehow misses all of my stuff and just starts hitting my balls! I walk up and am like "excuse me you don't see my damn stuff here?" He goes "ohh I thought these were just extras someone left". And what if he refused to stop hitting your balls? If we use your analogy , you are arrested for battery for suggesting he go get his own balls. Why is it ok for you but not the op. Because incase you missed it the OP mentioned he forcibly grabbed the guys golf club out of his hand and took it away from him. That is illegal and not anyway similar to me suggesting to a guy stealing my balls to go get his own.

  20. I played a round today with Volvik Vivid in green I was given a dozen of for Christmas. I was seriously impressed with the visuals of this ball. I was worried about it being green but it is more a "bright light green". My partner uses yellow Titleist all the time and the Vivid was even easier to see. The Volvik will be a great ball for Spring/Fall conditions. Just wish they weren't so over priced.
