  1. Was so in love with the colors/style of these shoes that I bought this pair even though it's a little bigger than my normal size. Thought I could wear thick socks or something. But, alas, just a little too big for me. Worn exactly one round. Look and feel pretty much brand new. There is one slight little blemish on the back left heel that I tried to get a close up pic. $100 shipped.
  2. Clean mine after every shot, and every range session. I recently bought a little keychain spray bottle that hangs on my bag -- oh man what a great decision. Don't have to haul around a wet towel anymore. Club or ball gets dirty, just give it a quick spray with water and clean them right up.
  3. Was recently playing my buddy in match play, and had a pretty incredible finishing hole. I figure the WRX'ers out there probably have some wild match play holes as well and would love to hear them. 18th hole is a relatively short Par 5, water all along the right and water short of the green. We are both somewhere around scratch, so pretty impressive how badly we crumble on this hole. We are all square on 18, and I block my tee shot to the right and just barely bounces in the drink. My buddy hits his dead center of the fairway. He is first to play, and obviously recogniz
  4. Don't mean to be too combative, but I just don't understand the reasoning that Ping should stay with what they've got if tour pro's are still doing well with them. The Ping staffers are playing them because they have no other options. It's not like they have access to a new model and just refuse to upgrade because they are playing so well. Sometimes a staffer does hold onto an older model, and that actually does say something to the performance of said model. Tour pros can play well with just about anything, so I'm not really sure how much weight the argume
  5. Definitely seems like Ping is in a weird place with their player's irons right now. None of my local shops have anything on the rack besides their G line for irons. All signs point to Ping refreshing their player's irons soon, but man this wait has grown old. I really can't justify buying a new set of sticks that are 3-5 years old and still have to wait 8-12 weeks for them to arrive.
  6. I've had this dream more than once. I show up to the first tee and find that I am paired with my ex. Somehow she took up golf and is in fact now a professional. I try to hit a shot and it's absolutely terrible. My ex then starts trying to give me a golf lesson on the first tee to fix my terrible swing. Worst part is she really knows what she's talking about, and is incredibly patronizing. Yikes.
  7. For me it was learning how to leverage the turf. For years I tried to more or less pick the ball clean on all my pitch/chip shots. I was OK at doing this, but as you stated I always felt that I was wasting a few shots per round with my game from around 30 yards in. Now I almost never chip/pitch with the club face square to the target. I open the club at least a little bit (how much depends on the shot, obviously) to utilize the bounce and my main goal/feel is to make sure I hit the turf. Not crazy aggressive to where I would take a big divot, but I am definitely trying to get a lit
  8. When your playing partner sends you a text 10 minutes before your tee time saying they will be late.
  9. #10 at Clint Eastwood's place in Monterey (Tehama) Yardage marker doubles as a great beer holder.
  10. Was also really hoping to hear about some new products from Bushnell. Specifically hoping to see an update to their hybrid rangefinder. Oh well.
  11. The only info I recently got is shaky at best, as the info is one of those "friend of a friend" rumors. But, played a tourney over the weekend and my playing partner said he spoke with his "guy" and was told July release for new player's irons (not specific on the actual series) He then spoke to his other, separate "guy" and told him he heard new irons coming in July. The response was "who told you and how did you know?" So the other "guy" confirmed July. So nothing even close to concrete, but it's something.
  12. Kind of feels like Ping is making it hard to be a loyalist. The updates to the s (now iblade) and i series is just a really long time to game the same set of irons. I know a lot of folks get upset with other companies releasing too frequently, but waiting 5 years for an iblade update is just painful. I guess the i series is fairly close to the iblade, but even the i210 is 3 years old now. Blueprint, to me, is in a completely separate category. Love Ping, have always been a Ping player starting with the i series, and past few generations of s series/iblade. B
  13. Awesome little device here. Upgrading to full blown sim so I won't have as much use for it. Tested it to death at the range and the numbers are impressively accurate. Comes with everything, as you can see in the photo. Looking for $sold shipped. Feel free to ask as many questions about the device as you'd like.
  14. Never played this but this seems like a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing. To keep the point totals from getting ridiculous, maybe you have to automatically bank all points at the turn? So you can let it ride holes 1-9 and all points are automatically banked heading into hole #10. Could also just lower the points while keeping them relative to each other. Bogey = 1 Par = 3 Birdie = 6 Eagle = 12 Gonna give this game a go with my buddies that like to gamble. Always looking for new games.
  15. Didn't read most if the comments, but this just needs to stop. Golf is the only sport where athletes become bigger, stronger, faster and people get worried that the weaker, less athletic people can't compete anymore. Would you want to see an under 6ft tall basketball league? Because they would play the game the way it was originally meant to be? Who cares if scores get lower? Whoever wins is relative to the competition -- not the course. Dynamic athletes have finally taken interest in the sport the last 20 years or so. That's a good thing. Let t
