  6. Last thing you want to do is just really pure the ball. One of those best swings of your life. Maxed out smash factor. You're just adding height and spin which is no good in the wind. You need to swing softer, less loft. Maybe choke down. Ball back. Take the ego out of it. And yes, you have to lower expectations for the overall round. There may be some holes that you cant reach because of the conditions and thats okay.
  7. I went from an over 18 to a 4.3 in 18 months (just under 30 rounds), and I'm about as unathletic and out of shape as possible. so I dont see why this kid couldn't have broken 90 after a dozen rounds.
  8. Have you hit a Ventus shaft yet? What model? I have not. I am dying to try one. Insane how many of these you see on tour. What Ventus TX shaft do you want to win? Ventus Blue 6TX. What club in your bag would a Ventus TX go in? PRGR Super Egg that spins way too much right now.
  9. they are inevitable when you spend the day punching out from the rocks and tree roots.
  10. Cobra Tour model 4-5 woods are great.
  11. I've got a completely mixed bag now and have never owned a titleist club, but for some reason want to go to an all titleist bag.
  12. wow that is upright. for every 1/2 inch you add in length, the club will be 1 degree more upright and thus the lie should be flattened 1 degree to keep the same dynamic lie. so in your example, you lengthened the club by 1 inch, so the lie should be 2 degrees flatter. ie 73.5 -2 = 71.5
  13. 1. get your money back for the adjustment. 2. have them sell you a set at wholesale, factory adjusted to your specs. 3. sell your beat up set on ebay and try to break even out of it all.
  14. Those are different ideas. Working on the cause is great when you have identified the correct swing fault. Working on your finish is developing a conceptual understanding of the feel of the body post impact. Where is the weight, when is the release, how open are the hips, how do I maintain balance, how much am I rotating, are the hands left and low. What is the end goal of this swing? There's a reason why recipes start with a picture. And why you keep flipping the instructions to look at the picture of the Ikea furniture. Yes. there are steps and if you've messed up the build you need to identify the incorrect step or it will never be right. But if you have a great understanding of what it is supposed to look like and feel like, you will have a better chance of getting that result without as many mistakes.
  15. Not necessarily. If you know how you should end up, it can be easier to get there. Just like a basketball player rehearsing the follow through and bent wrist before a free throw. In golf it helps get rid of the hit instinct and the idea that nothing after the ball leaves the club matters. There's a reason why great golfers have great finishes and generally much later releases than amateurs.
