  1. Thanks for pointing me in this direction. A friend of mine recently took his gamer 3W to Club Champion, and got fit for shaft only and came out with a Fujikura Motore X5. I hit that club and I loved the way the shaft felt. So, I took a look at the Cobra RAD Speed you suggested and I see that's a stock shaft option. The shaft alone is a $280 dollar shaft, but in the Cobra it's 280 total for the club?? This seems too good to be true? I am going to head to PGA store today or tomorrow to hit this thing.

  3. Currently gaming a Titleist 915F....the shaft in it feels very boardy to me, I don't hit this club well, by far my worst club in the set. Hit some friends 3W's in a sim this weekend and was hitting them so much better. So for fun I went to GG today to see what I could find on the used rack. I found an M6 with stock stiff shaft (6.0), also found a SIM Max (previous gen) with TENSEI Blue 70g, and a Callaway Epic with Even Flow riptide 6.0 70g, and then also hit a new SIM2 MAX 3W with same TESNEI Blue as the previous gen. The M6, SIM Max (previous gen), and Callaway EPIC

  5. I had never been fit for a driver. Always played off the rack. Went in a for a fitting on a trackman last week and hit all the new heads. Ended up fit for the SIM2 MAX. Behind the ball you can't tell the difference between SIM2 and the SIM2 MAX. For it just gave me the proper spin numbers. For someone else, that may occur with the regular SIM. To me, it's more about the shaft than anything. As long as you like the shape of what you are looking down at and the sound...
  6. The only way to really answer this question is to be on a proper launch monitor. If the 917 D2 has proper loft and proper shaft for your swing, it will be better than any new club which doesn't have those things. If the smash is 1.48 or above with proper launch angle for your speed, you won't find more in anything new IMO. You may be able to get a tad more ball speed to get that smash closer to 1.50, but now you're talking $$$ per yard.

  9. Wow that turned out fantastic. Nice work and congrats.
  10. I live about 4 minutes from Elgin CC. I have played it 3-4 times. It's a nice course, lots of hills and uneven lies. I would prefer it to be a bit more open. If you are looking for the best "golf" this may not be it in my opinion. Also it isn't cheap from what I have heard from neighbors. Elgin does have a nice driving range and practice area. Large range. I have not played the Hawk personally, also has a large range though. And I am not sure what pricing on it is.
  11. I've got a trip to Big Cedar planned for end of March. Has anyone actually played Payne's Valley. It seems odd the tees go from 6133 yards (Green) to 6876 yards (Blue). 6876 can be long for some of the guys I am going with. Are there a lot of downhill tee shots, and so the 6876 plays more like 6600 flat? 6133 is way too short though. If anyone has played it, let me know your thoughts.
  12. I have read several times in this post that they do not carry stock shaft options. Does this apply to driver shafts only or also iron shafts? So you’re telling me they don’t carry your typical DG Regular and DG stiff etc? Also another question. With that it appears you are describing as far as pricing, should I assume a new set of 8 irons must be 2K+?
  13. 1.Tim "rock" Raines 2.Gerry James 3. That it's like "reverses aging"!! Thanks WRX and MISIG for the contest!
  14. So when is the next event you'll be playing Matt? Will you be playing the next 4 straight?
