  1. Question about this driver as I just picked up a head and threw in a shaft I had. Does the screw "click" on the sleeve when you tighten it? I'm afraid i'm going to crack this thing but i haven't gotten it to click like the Ping sleeves.
  2. Ping Rapture v2. I have a 4 and 7 wood. Enough loft to not really worry about the deck, but tall faces for off the tee are a must. love them both

He got injured and tried to prepare to come back and got injured again. I guess the injuries kept piling up, he’s had a back fusion and other operations and getting paid good money from his insurance claim. If he does back to playing, he loses that money so he’s not coming back given his injuries. He plays poker and does investment/business deals now. > > "Plays Poker and has business investment deals". Hmmm....I give him 5 years and he is broke and owes the government 5 million in back taxes. Hope I'm wrong but this sounds like disaster waiting to happen. Is this 5 years in addition to the 7 that it has already been?

Love the reference, but the insurance company isn't losing anything. how many of these policies do they write that never pay out? that's the name of the game. They're banks and they make billions, even after indemnity.
  5. Tiger's putt to tie Rocco at the 2008 US Open is probably my favorite actual "Moment" in golf, maybe even all sports. Others that come to mind: Phil putt on 18 2004 Masters Final putt on 18 1991 Ryder Cup. The tension on that green was palpable even through TV. Payne Stewart final putt 1999 US Open Corey Pavin 4 wood to 18 1995 US Open Hale Irwin 45' birdie putt on 18 1990 US open. there are many more........

Without a doubt Rory is the most overrated golfer ever and just someone who the media try to force down unto everyone. No one can argue otherwise. But to say Rory is the most overrated golfer ever is just plain stupid. > > > > Just look at the career resumes Chris posted. McIlroy’s is clearly better. > > > > Take away Rorys good stretch 2012 - 2014 and you have an average top golfer. He got on a hot run just like Speith and he is just another top 30 player nothing outstanding. > While we're taking things away and/or pretending they didn't happen, I'd like to submit the following for Consideration: 2 pitches from game 6 of the 2011 World Series The referees from game 3 of the 2006 NBA finals Kent Hrbek and Ron Gant from the 1991 World Series All four major winners from 2009 Screech from Saved By The Bell
  7. I’ve been playing i20’s since 2013. I 25’s are pretty much the same I think. Combination of forgiveness and control has just been great for me. This is about the farthest I’ll venture towards the direction of blades. Just great irons. I love them
  8. I use Golfshot. The GPS is great and easy to use and accurate enough for me. The scoring feature is easy to use and love the output from each round. I did notice that scoring AVG is no longer part of the statistics. Is this an upgrade option? I’ve been using the free version since 2013
  9. This makes me want to unbox my TA 845s and go play a few holes with a Tour Edition. When I'm done, I'll relax and re-live the round while watching Saved By The Bell.
  10. 3 wood/4 wood IPA's/German Lagers Golden Doodles/Golden Retrievers All golf-related where I play!
  11. > @bladehunter said: > Ping was a great choice. Literally can play anything he wants from smallest MB to **largest iron on earth.** Great Woods , and use any ball you want. Best contract to sign . lol. actually maybe that's what they should call the G420's. Either that or the Ping G Four Twentaaayyyyyyy. Headcovers could be Doritos bags.

    Brooks or Rory?

    > @Albatross85 said: > Brooks will end up with better career and IMO is the bigger talent. > Driving - Tie (when they are both on, no one can touch them except DJ) > Irons - Rory > Wedges- BK >** Putter- BK by a million** > Mental game/ability to handle adversity- BK > > In big spots Rory has choked many times. Masters, RC vs Reed, Match play vs Tiger, etc. Plus putting is the great equalizer and BK has the confidence to knock those 8 foot par putts down when he needs to. The numbers again say Rory, but like I said, this thread will go a different direction.

    Brooks or Rory?

The numbers say Rory is better, by a decent margin, but I'm guessing that's not how this thread will go.
  14. I preferred Brooks look when he was a member of the Goonies. These Nike hats are just turrble.
  15. Colonial is excellent viewing for those going. I prefer the back nine. 10 green, 17 green, 11 tee and 18 tee are easy to bounce back and forth. if it is not blocked by stands now, behind 13 tee (which is a par three) you can see 12 green, all of thirteen, tee shots on 14 and second shots on 11 without moving around too much. If you want to sit and chill out, the stands on 9 are fun. that's a cool hole. courses like this where the tees and greens are close together are easy viewing if you have a game plan. have fun!
  16. I love going to PGA Tour events. These guys are amazing walkers. Rory is probably the best. Tiger was great until he hurt his back. I don't think he walks as well in soft spikes either. When I got to the match play this year I went straight to the tour van and asked if i could watch Paul Casey warm up on a treadmill. Was disappointed this wasn't open to the public. Had to settle for the driving range.
  17. Ping Rapture V2 4 wood. Enough loft to elevate off the deck, deep face for confidence off the tee. One of my favorite clubs ever.
  18. Rory had a 1 shot lead on number 10 in 2011. but, i do still agree that statistically speaking that was his best chance thus far. If you recall how that sunday played out, it's amazing he still had a lead on 10. he was 4 ahead of Charl (among others) to start the day. Charl holes an incredible running chip on 1 to cut it to 3 before Rory tees off. A few minutes later, Rory bogeys 1 while Charl holes out on 3 for eagle. Boom. 1 hole in for Rory and they are tied. turns out that Rory wasn't ready to win that day anyway, but that had to be jolt to the system to walk off 1 and already have lost a 4 shot lead. Charl parred everything until the last 4 holes and Rory's demise just manifested itself on 10, 11, and 12. complete meltdown. the main reason I don't think it really affects him the way everyone else does is he won the very next major by a mile. I hope he gets it done at some point. He seems like a likable guy. I don't know any of these guys personally so we just kind of have to go off what they give us. he seems like one of the good ones. He'll get more chances but the numbers still say winning any event is a long shot. He's historically played the course very well in the past, aside from this year. It's still a ball strikers course and the list of not great putters to win the event is pretty long.
  19. Loving the new crossover from Ping. I've noticed the TFC shafts are not an option anymore? I got along great with those but maybe some of the new offerings are better. I'm purchasing a 2 iron but as a lefty I was even lucky to just be able to demo a 3 iron. It had an Alta CB red shaft, stiff. I was hitting the 410 vs the 400 side by side and my clubhead speed was 3-4 mph more with the Alta. But i'm wondering what to expect with the launch comparison. I'm not a fan of the PJX shafts so it would really just be between the Alta and the Ping tour, which i wasn't able to try. The Tensei looks like a higher launch than both of them. Any feedback? For reference my SS with the 3 was mid to upper 90's. My driver SS is probably 108-109 on a warm day. I'm OK with low ball flight, but i'm feeling with a 17 degree head the tour 65 may be a touch too tough to elevate. wish i could try them side by side. thanks for any feedback.
  20. Snead and Hogan 4 years in a row and 5 out of 6. Arnie, Gary, Jack 7 years in a row and 8 out of 9. Tiger and Phil 3 years in a row and 5 out of 6. I feel like Augusta gets it right.
  21. You don't even have to look outside the sport, or even the PGA tour to easily find another situation of one becoming estranged from their parent(s). I agree that PR doesn't present himself in a very endearing manner. But who freaking knows the real story here? I don't. I can judge him on his public persona and the manner in which he carries himself. But, I'm going to leave this situation alone. I hope they all find some peace somewhere sometime
  22. Course is tough! I've played it once. Its long and the greens are fast. When the wind blows (always), you can see some crazy numbers if you get a little off the fairway. I read that they are cutting down the rough this year due to the new spot in front of the Masters. that will be interesting. Visually, i love this course and the bunkering integrated with the rocky landscape is very cool.
  23. The Valero will never get the Pub of the Match Play (not that it should). but as a spectator, the Valero is awesome. The field isn't mind blowing, but its a little better with the schedule shift. The logistics of getting in and out are miles above Austin and the course is much easier to see golf. I love the match play and the setting/atmosphere are just fantastic. We are lucky to have it for at lest 4 more years. but if you want to follow a group or get up close to a tee box, the Valero is a fun event. Hope i can make it down there Friday.
