  1. Agree here and I'll just add the the LPGA Founders Cup is played at Wildfire and they play the Palmer front 9 and the Faldo back 9. So both courses are top notch.
  2. Well maybe I was hard on Pete. But, I've played Red Mountain, La Quinta and Karsten and didn't care for any of them. I've played PGA West Stadium and while I thought it was a hard course, I liked it. I'm playing Kiawah Ocean in February and hopefully I'll like that.
  3. I played Cave Creek today (not my favorite, but it's OK) and the greens person must have been mowing in the dark. There were a few greens where you can tell oil or gas was leaking from the mower and some others where the drive wheel tore up some greens. Overall the course in pretty good shape.
  4. I have agree with @puttnforthe8, $271 for Grayhawk Talon is a bit much. You could try Wildfire (Faldo and Palmer). They're getting about $100 less than Grayhawk and only about 15 minutes from there.
  5. Wow, bringing up a post from 7 years ago. I said most, not all. And Karsten sucked and I'm sure most on this thread that have played it would agree.
  6. Nice write-up but a question on Aguila. I have the senior card and the walking rate in the middle of snowbird season is $35.84 unless you play after 1:00PM like you do. My question is about the pace of play at that time. I typically play in the morning so pace of play isn't usually that bad. How is it at 1:00 and after?
  7. I tried that app. It would have turned a 4 hour round into a 6 hour round with the amount of time it took to enter the data. I thought the UI was terrible. Maybe I didn't give myself enough time to learn it, but the frustration was taking me off my game. And holding up others is never a good thing.
  8. I'm sure Phil wears the most expensive clothes. Although, I'm sure he's not pulling out the cash for it.
  9. You do have a point there, my bad. Thanks, but no need for a special post moving forward. I don't think I was disrespectful, but apologies if you took it that way. You probably are a f*&^%^n fun guy, maybe we'll tee it up sometime.
  10. My point... that sailed right over your head is that a lot of people (like winter visitors). don't know what course SD is. So your post would be much more helpful if you spent 5 more seconds and hit a few more keys on the keyboard. You sound like a fun guy.
  11. The problem is they're never in stock. At list the 3 1/4" ones. They've been out of stock for at least 6 months. I don't know how this place stays in business.
  12. I'm playing there in February. Here's to hoping for a calm day.
  13. I'd try those All In Motion except I'm not a fan of patch pockets except on jeans. That's why I like the Lululemon Commission pants.
  14. You've received a ton of advice, and I might be alone in my thinking, but I'd pay the extra $1200 and go to Scotland for $4900 before I'd pay $4700 for Pebble. That said, I'd do something like @hammergolf is doing and save yourself some cash. In fact, I'm trying to put together a trip very similar to what he posted, but having a hard time getting some solid commitments. I'd like to do 4 couples and send the wives to Inverness for a couple days.
  15. Unfortunately, that's been Fowler's problem most of his career. The other is that he makes a ton of birdies but gives them right back with so many bogeys. I root for him every tournament he's in.
  16. My foursome had that happen a couple of years ago at Stoneridge in Prescott, AZ. We just waited for them to finish and then they waved us up. When we got to the green and after holing out, the couple asked if they could be in a picture with all of us for a memory. We happily obliged and wished them the best.
  17. I'm currently a 7.3 and am playing there in a February tournament. Looks like I'll have my work cut out for me.
  18. How many times have you done that 4 times in a row? Signing up for a qualifier is one thing, surviving it is quite another.
  19. You got that right, it's a wide gap. Much much wider than a 10 to a low single digit.
  20. Nice list but I think you have Quintero way overrated at number 2. If you're going that far west, just drive another 30 minutes and play Wickenburg Ranch.
  21. I hope so. I think the Bryson / Brooks nonsense has run its course. I liked the hug at the end of the player's question/answer session. Was glad to see JT put them up to it.
  22. Thanks for the gratz. 156 yard par 3 with a green that slopes right to left. Greenside bunker left, desert right. Pulled an 8, but then changed my mind and decided on an easy 7. Was hitting into the sun. I saw my tee shot hit the right side of the green and then bounce a bit left and was rolling towards the pin. Then the ball disappeared. BUT, I didn't know that it dropped in the hole. When I got to the green, I saw a ball in line with the pin, but just short of the green. I said to my cart partner, that I would have bet $100 that I was on the green. Turns out the ball short of the green, was another partner's ball. So I said "mine must be in the hole". Walked to the pin and there it was, bottom of the cup. So I actually saw it go in, I just didn't know I saw it go in.
