I disagree with almost the entirety of this post. You've got guys backing off of

  3. You have a $5K budget but considering a set of snake eye irons? Give me the $5K and I will get you 2 or even 3 sets? Also, tread lightly w Tour Spec. A number of us here have had less than stellar experiences with them over the years.
  4. G: played with him a million times and I’ve learned to just tolerate the guy over time but I now think time is up w him. Slowest guy at our club, limited understanding of the rules (asks if he gets free relief w sitting behind a tree), argumentative about rules he has no clue about and now with the gloating when he wins...takes all the fun out of the game for me.
  5. “Playing partners acting like pros??!!” How is taking a free drop and you giving him a free drop even remotely related to being on tour. Also, you may be the first guy who gives a free drop to an FC when there’s money on the line.
  6. Why do we care about another man’s body composition? Not that there’s anything wrong with it?
  7. And Faldo observing Rory as a world-class golfer with a junior high school haircut. Made me laugh. :) Feherty’s sense of humor is so formulaic. Same 20 jokes and completely canned by his writers 2 weeks ahead of each tournament. He’s got a one man show in our town and they had to cancel due to lack of ticket sales.
  8. A little bit of both Jimmy. Just a bit sad that a close friend would act like such a d*ck. I think I was more embarrassed over his unsportsmanlike behavior in front of 2 strangers than I was upset about the loss.
  9. Played a match yesterday against a friend. Also got paired up with another twosome. Pretty intense match with some coin on the line and came down to the final putt on 18. My friend makes and I miss the putt and he wins it. I go to take off my hat and to shake his hand to congratulate him and he starts jumping up and down and shouting “I WON!! I WON!!” I found it a bit immature and like of throwing salt in the wound. One of the guys in the group says to my friend “you need to learn to not gloat after a win...very unsportsmanlike”. Sure, i lost, he won, but really got under my skin.
  10. I guess one man’s ceiling is another man’s floor. I would never watch THC if Feherty was one of the leads. The jokes got old for me and now like chalk on a chalkboard.
  11. It's not that simple. In my case, it's a good friend and I choose to keep a good friend rather than play fast. I play in a regular group on Tues. and Thurs. Last tues we had 5, and since the weather was not good, and the course was not busy, we played 5. One guy left after 9, and with no one in front of us, it took almost 5 hours. On Thurs, I played in a threesome, first group out, and we walked off 18 in 3.5 hours. Three of the guys I played with on Tues were behind us, but were at least, two or three holes behind. These guys are all good guys, and like you, I value their friendship, but th
  12. Now we are talking about cultural differences in tipping for service which was never really the subject here. I wouldn’t take a trip to Spain or Switzerland and start tipping waiters and waitresses 20% because i know service is already included in the price. Similarly, if you’re playing golf in America or eating in a restaurant in America, you tip for service. Ever hear of that expression “when in Rome do as the Romans do?” When in a foreign country, follow the customs of those who live in it. Pretty simple stuff.
  13. Ah yes, those derelict homeless bagroom guys trying to extort you and force you into shelling out your hard earned $2 for the service they provide. I say lock them up!!
  14. Requiring customers to be your payroll dept?? Do you have the same view on waitresses or parking garage attendants?
  15. You’re playing golf with your buddies and about to have a nice burger and beer and generally having a great time. Some kid then comes along after running around cleaning other golfers crap out of carts and servicing other golfers to clean your clubs and you are somehow offended?? How?
  16. I'm with this. Updating my position to "I don't care but I care if you care" ;) Just killin me???
  17. “It’s a good workout”!? New workout routine: put a pair of black pants on and lose an extra 3-5 pounds?
  18. possibly the funniest post I’ve read in many years on WRX
  19. Hey Jeff. I think you and I have shared a few stories in the past about our horse riding families and golf:). My wife still riding 6 days per wk and my daughter once per wk. crazy obsessive sport. Crazy expensive sport. On the subject of millennials, I work with a lot of them and as a group, they have almost zero interest in golf. The generation I grew up with at least had some people with interest but I’m not seeing any young (20-35 year olds) with a keen interest. Also where I live, many firms have pretty much ended country club perks for execs, offer much smaller bonuses for Wall Stre
  20. I’m suggesting we go with embedded microchips within each ball that contains a camera. This would give new meaning to the phrase “be the ball” cuz not just for putts, but on drives and approach shots, you could literally feel like you are the ball.
  21. I guess I’m in shock that people still get magazines. Waste of natural resources.
  22. Actually playing there on Sat so will let you know. Almost too cheap which makes me nervous ?
  23. YES, but this dude made an illegal shoulder height drop. PENALTY?
  24. Sorry if I wasn't clear. Your post is exactly what I've been trying to say. The USGA is trying to make workable rules for all golfers in a world where the game on TV is more removed from everyday golf than it's ever been, and that gap will continue to widen. The PGA Tour is under no obligation to adopt the USGA's rules. AS the gap between the games widens, it will be interesting to see how it all shakes out. Help me out here. Are you saying that the USGA/R&A make rules for all golfers around the world, AND that the PGA Tour (and all the other Tours) follow those rules, AND.... tha
  25. More likely to prevent relief from temporary water on leaves and crotches of tree branches. You lost me at crotch of the tree? I get that it’s relatively common amongst arborists, just never expected that one on a golf forum
