  1. I agree with you in the sense that it is "your competition" it's a bit stickier if you intend to post your scores for handicapping purposes. Not sure I get it. You can still post w LCP. Section 7 Should I Post a Score Under “Preferred Lies?” Q. Can I post scores while playing “preferred lies” or “winter rules?” A. Yes. As long as the Committee has made the decision to play “preferred lies,” then all acceptable scores must be posted. The decision to post under “preferred lies” is not an option to the player if he/she has an acceptable score to post. The Committee making this decision i
  2. Really? I belong to a golf club in NJ and even w a great layout, great membership, great clubhouse, great location, we are really struggling this year w new memberships. Same deal with all the other clubs in the area and we've had to drop initiation prices dramatically. Can't get millennials to join and it's the younger members that represent the future of the club and growth. It's partly an affordability issue. Same for existing members who are switching to weekday only memberships to save money. I also have the view that millennials who are part of the Google/Twitter generation have no i
  3. On thing is for certain...I just started betting and it’s damn near impossible to pick a winner any given week. Even w only a handful of holes left. You can think someone is playing solid golf and next thing you know they blow up on a hole or someone else scorches the earth and pulls ahead. I know that’s the game but not even close to betting on basketball or football.
  4. Ha!!! Now I know who to blame for 2 bets I lost on DraftKings yesterday! Bet that Fleetwood would’ve be GIR on both 15 and 17. He missed both greens. Complete meltdown. Tell your daughter she owes me some ???!! Still a good story:)
  5. The whole thing was pretty funny and i will say, some of those comments just killed me in twitter feed about flip flops and dress code. Broken glass always make things a bit more dramatic than they actually are. In my view, a head butt is today’s modern version of a sucker punch. No one really expects it and 2 mins later both of your have a concussion?
  6. Fixed it for you: “Replying to Most annoying golf ebay BUYERS?”
  7. Repeating those words doesn’t make them any less crazy.
  8. Bryson was using a drawing compass to determine true pin locations which is illegal. From my understanding, a directional compass which as the name infers is used to determine wind direction is legal. Here’s what the USGA had to say about Bryson using the compass: "At the request of the PGA Tour, the USGA and The R&A reviewed Bryson DeChambeau’s stated use of a drawing compass to assist him in determining 'true' hole locations, and jointly determined that his specific usage would be in breach of Rule 14-3, if used in a future round.
  9. Yes but these are 2 separate issues. There are many times during the season where you will be playing LCP and will be posting scores, meaning not just winter months at your club. What you’re referring to is an inactive season which is established by the authorized golf association and during inactive periods, no handicaps will be posted.

  11. Huh? You bought them and know nothing about them? How about some pics.

  14. Something tells me 2 days later you will retract that statement.
  15. You would leave negative feedback for a subject title that you don’t love? Someone please start a rant about guys that are off kilter?
  16. Sorry, but you are delaying the inevitable. If you don’t have a sit down face to face and be blunt as a bowling ball over the head, nothing will change. Even then it’s a crap shoot.
  17. Your foursome can serve as a committee for the day and make that decision. We normally make that call if head pro/greens keeper says cart paths only. The two kinda go hand in hand in my eyes.
  18. 30 years of playing the game, but in all those years of both tournament golf and a million money games over the years have I ever seen or heard someone on the green say “ready golf, putt whenever you’re ready”. Also just silly to state that we should “try new things in the spirit of speed of play”. The new rule was intended for approach shots, not “ready golf” on the putting green. What you’re suggesting would mean we’re no longer playing golf and playing the game in the spirit of how the game was meant to be played. No one, and I mean no one, who’s ever played the game at any competitiv
  19. That copper Scotty is amazing looking. Not sure I understood the Xmas reference though?
  20. I think we should have bifurcation on cold weather vs warm weather handicaps. How is it fair for those of us who basically can’t play for months straight be expected to compete against guys who play 365 days/year?
  21. Good to see you missed me? In your honor, I make no disparaging comments?
  22. Perfect example of why I don’t think a lot of the rules guys actually play golf. There is simply NO WAY anyone is playing ready golf when it comes to putting. I understand the new rule around ready golf, but one of the greatest strategy plays in golf happens on the green with watching the exact speed or read by an FC. I’m not playing ahead of someone else on the green and not get that read or the speed of the putt and neither would any of my competitors. Ready golf rule was NOT put into place for when golfers are on the green. As to point number 2, there is really no connection between a
  23. So you're saying your wife is on our side of the argument? This is starting to get weird for me. That would explain the disconnect if that is how you understood what I wrote. Disconnect with me or the wife??
