  1. Use whatever you want. They remind me of the plastic on my Grandmother's furniture.
  2. I don't know anything about NTC, but what Dean is telling you about your setup is spot on. Keep on grinding. The game is hard for us all. Out of nowhere I started hitting everything far off the toe. Far enough off the toe that my PW is landing 20-30 yards short. I won't even look at my 4 iron currently. Friggin game
  3. You should be playing the proper tees based on driving distance regardless of age. The game should be fun. I sure don't want to go out and hit driver, 3w, 3w, iron on every hole. 5400 yards with a 150 yard drive is incredibly difficult. That is more or less the equivalent of me playing from 10000 yards. No thanks. As a youth I most often played an executive par 30 at 3700 yards. It was a great introduction to golf.
  4. I assume they will as people upgrade. Clubs are in short supply though.
  5. My scores are definitely negatively affected by my tendency to take chances. I'm mostly out there for fun and greatly enjoy taking the big stick out far too often. I played a shorter course with my elderly uncle the other day and got eaten up by a bunch of geriatrics. It is a different game from 5800 yards. Keep going bortass, your work will pay off at some point.
  6. I wasn't arguing your statement, although it seems anecdotal at best. My point was that if they are good enough for Keith to use on tour, they are more than good enough for me. Most tour guys aren't using blades anymore anyways.
  7. Good enough for Keith Mitchell, good enough for me.
  8. Maybe for your eye. I tried all of those options and preferred the look and feel of the Mizuno's. How I hit them, and how they felt played a strong role, but the MP20 looks were a home run overall for me. They felt very different compared to the MP68s. Some will prefer the MP68 look/feel, some will prefer the MP20. Or 620s or....it's all just personal preference. I've got a season under my belt with the MP20's and couldn't be happier. From the looks of the MP221s, I'd be happy there too. The script doesn't bother me. The soles are a bit concerning though. They do look large in pictures. Regardless, I'm excited to try the MP223/MP225 3/4 irons. I swap between my MP20 4 iron and a 910H 4 hybrid depending on the wind. I wouldn't mind finding a happy medium.
  9. I disagree. I went from the MP68 to the MP20 and couldn't be happier. They are a bit more forgiving, feel softer, and look terrific at address. Different strokes.
  10. You'd be better served learning to hit woods off the deck. It's not that hard a skill to become proficient at.
  11. IO was available in the MP20 - that's what I ordered without up charge.
  12. You plate the whole screw. There is no reason for PXG to remove plating from that area post process. The pictures to me look like poor plating adhesion causing areas to be unplated. Further, tungsten shouldn't rust. Nor should titanium. Neither have iron in them. I thought PXG screws were titanium or tungsten?
  13. Those screws should be coated to prevent rust. Maybe he is using chemicals that have eaten through the coating?
  14. https://www.seaoaksgolfresort.com/ Step right up folks. Nice track to be had here.
  15. I'll take a round with that set vs no round at all. And shooting an 80 with that set is certainly a feat! Driver is usually what has me packing my clubs. I can hit most irons, but rental drivers can be very hit or miss for me.
  16. I'd stick with the T100. You can always combo in a T200 long iron or two if needed.
  17. I have a set of these in my back up/persimmon bag. Fantastic sticks that I inherited from my father who bought them new. I'd love to see the catalog if someone has it. It doesn't show on the first page anymore.
  18. Yep, 115mph avg. with the driver(Ventus Blue 60TX) and play lighter 6.0 IO Project X in my irons.
  19. I feel a 24 deg hybrid would work well. Get one that is adjustable, so you can dial it in. I swap between a 24deg Titleist 915H and my 24deg 4 iron. The Hybrid is about 5 yards further carry. It flies much higher and lands much softer. Spin is similar. Total distance is 3-5 yards longer. Way more forgiving, but I can't flight it - so it gets swapped out on windy days. Paid $100 used this season to complement my 2H and haven't found a model a prefer.
  20. It will depend on what the loft of your current 4 iron is. If it is strong lofted you'll want a 4H if it is traditional you might want a 5H.
  21. Is the club number lasered onto all of the HMB irons? I feel that will fade or wear off over time.
  22. I'm still in love with my Blue 6TX. It has totally transformed my G410 plus. I have the confidence to work the ball, and my strike consistency is so much higher. Highly recommend.
