  1. This is my first time seeing a set of Mac Tourney Customs…and they’re Miura forged to boot?! I bet you have to earn your keep with those irons otherwise you’ll be humbled accordingly!! Very nice.
  2. Nice bag…. I’m digging the vintage Titleist DCI Staff bag.
  3. Play what works! That’s a solid bag all around.
  4. I say play the tees that give you the best opportunity to enjoy the game without holding people up. That said, aside from organized Jr events I NEVER see people playing tees based on their skill set. How awesome that would be though!
  5. Here we go… On a serious note congrats on putting work in and seeing the results. I know that discussions re GlfTec instruction can become contentious fairly quickly.
  6. Just wanted to get in on this before it’s locked up…
  7. Nice bag and nice subtle flex with the RGC rangefinder!
  8. One of my poser setups is a set of freshly gripped set of BeCu Ping Eye 2+ irons (2-LW), a 917D2 driver, 915 FD fairway metal or 07’ TMag Burner TP fairway metal, Ping Milled Anser 6 putter, all toted inside my tropical themed Ping moonlight carry bag. Then I do my thing and remove most, if not all, doubt.
  9. A teen showed up at the range tonight with a well worn and sun-faded pink and gray Titleist Player’s bag. She was walking over to the stalls with a bucket of balls but she also had a shag bag (likely from practicing in the short game area). She had an AJGA tag on her bag as well. Fwiw, I’m in SoCal (LA area) and there are a lot of talented juniors in these parts…even at the humble dives that I frequent.
  10. Solid bag all around! The LinksMaster is really growing on me. Also, nice subtle flex with the PAWS What Party book
  11. @rsballer10 I felt the exact same way. Way back when, I purchased a set of RBldz Tour irons w/ KBS Tour shafts because I loved the look of the club at address and from an aesthetic point of view. They performed “aight” but they felt terrible…just rock hard off the sweet spot. After that failure I picked up a set of SLDR irons and then a set of PSi irons and those both felt/feel great. I’m sure it was an archer/not the arrow issue but I couldn’t groove with the RBldz Tour irons at all.
  12. @TycallNice bag! Every club in your oaks solid. Being a long iron guy I can appreciate the Mizzy 2.5 iron. I still have an older Mizzy MP H4 2 iron that I fit with a 110g Recoil shaft and it’sfrom the tee box.
  13. @Lobby your post says it all (for me). I’ve been playing the game for 27 years and I spent the first 23 years drinking from the manufacturers kool aid fountain. It’s all BS. I say buy equipment as you please but understand that there is no better remedy for poor mechanics/bad play other than proper practice and time.
  14. This is the internet my friend. As much as many of us would like to think that we’re like-minded golf enthusiasts that share a deep passion for all things golf the brash reality is that this is still the internet.
  15. 327yds during a windy round earlier this summer…had a nice tailwind to boot. Stepped up on the next tee with a strong headwind and barley hit it 190yds.
  16. @Highstrung The modern bag is solid but the vintage bag with the BeCu Eye2s and the blonde woods is all class! Do you play with that set much and if so how does your play (with them) stack up against the modern bag?
  17. Beautiful score! I’m with the other posters that those are hardly old school though. Lol. As I the days go by I am more fond of feel/performance than I am with when something was released. Play them and enjoy!
  18. The guy/gal with a tennis overwrap on their putter and/or long iron/s…
  19. I’ve been following Cantlay since his UCLA days. He’s always been a player and I’m happy to see him playing so well. He’s got that laser focus and he wasn’t rattled.
  20. Here in SoCal I’ve seen enough juniors with AJGA tags on their bags to know that they don’t just give those things away. A few months ago while playing a public 9 hole track I got paired with a younger guy (mid 20s) that roped his shiny 620 MB 3-iron down the right side of the fairway about 230 yds on the tee of hole #1. He had on hoop shorts, a random (non-collared) long sleeve tee shirt, and some newish FJ Icons. Driver was a Sim2 with a yellow UST shaft in it. He said he was a +2 and I totally believed him. Seeing him hit that 3 iron on the first tee outta the trunk (no range/no warmup) spoke volumes. edit: Dude had WRX stats in reality. 180 yd 7-irons that were neither downhill or downwind…Most drives were over 300 yds and in play…Solid short game. Honestly it was just fun watching him play.
  21. Y’all are some ballers! Lol. I have more than multiple sets I just don’t have a permanent vacation home (yet). Lol. When a party I just travel with clubs. My 25+ year old Club Glove still gets the job done for my needs
  22. Audio/video of BAE trying to track the ball on the 1st tee. Second clip was (both) the most uncomfortable yet best drive of the day. I struggled with the line and called an audible when I shifted my feet in the process. It actually worked out. The third/final clip is a pixelated summary of my day on the greens with commentary from the Peanut Gallery. Go Dodgers!! IMG_6298.MOV IMG_6300.MOV IMG_6301.mov
  23. Hey all, Just a quick update as we’re still in the moment and enjoying our impulse Hawaiian vacay. I did not play Ko’Olina as initially planned. Instead “we” switched things up and were privileged enough to experience the Royal Hawaiian Golf Club. Side note…this is the absolute best course layout I’ve EVER played HANDS DOWN. I will try to squeeze a round or more here every year after playing the course for my first time on Friday (07/16/2021). Pictures and reviews of the track cannot even begin to do justice to the actual playing experience. This wonder of nature is a sight to behold to anyone fortunate enough to make it out to the course. My lady isn’t a golfer and the track didn’t permit spectators on Friday, Saturday, or Sundays at the time I played the course. I really wanted to play with her there so I paid for an extra round and a rental set so she could ride with me. We both had more than a blast of a time. The Jurassic Park layout made you feel like OG T-Rex or Blue and Delta were going to surprise you whenever you tried to focus on anything other than the task at hand. Commentary/moral support/jokes from the Peanut Gallery kept the mood jovial and in perspective the entire round. The 4 minute cart ride from the 1st green to the 2nd tee box was bananas!! All jungle…. Service was good enough but the value was all in the playing experience. I don’t usually post pics/videos of me up but I felt that I had to share some of the experience for the sake of the thread. Forgive my hack of a swing but I was more than satisfied with my 84 playing the course for the first time. The non-golfing camera lady did her best with her phone so take it for what it is.
