  1. Anyone heard anything about a newer place called "Five Iron Golf" in Baltimore? They're the only premium fitter in the area with GCQuad to my knowledge, and they have a mighty impressive wall of shafts, and a build studio in house. Part of the place functions as an entertainment / simulator rental party space... but the upstairs seems to be a gearhead's dream
  2. Yup... impact moved about a ball width into the toe with the extra length and no bend. Push Draws are now Push Cuts... no good. Should be fine once they're bent. Otherwise... 130X is just too much
  3. Speaking of tinkering... I just did my JPX 850s with C-Taper 130X, +0.5" with some BBF&Co Ferrules. So far... no heads have gone flying... Taking to Golf Galaxy in Columbia tomorrow to make them 2° upright, which will make them the same as the P770 1° Upright I was fit for. Losing everything left, and frankly it's just uncomfortable with how flat they are.
  4. I've played 80-90 rounds this year, mostly as a single with 3 randoms. Don't wear a mask on the course, but make sure that I don't really get within 6 or even 10 feet of people. Risk from touching things is almost 0, but I do hand sanitize when I get into the car, and wear a mask from my car to the 1st Tee and from the 18th tee to the car. A few people have been pretty pushy about getting way too close for absolutely no reason (wanting to chat, high five, etc.) despite my warning that I'd like them to maintain distance, and I've had no issue telling them to pound sand,
  5. C-Taper 130X experiment is going well. The good shots are better, the bad shots are worse, just as I expected. Finally manufactured a draw with a 4 and 5 iron on the range after I played today.
  6. Ah, okay. I am only concerned about the quality of my fitting, so seems okay on that front.
  7. Clubs are holding up fine.... 2 range buckets and 36 holes later
  8. To me, the Popeye's sandwich has better/higher quality components but Chick Fil A has a more distinct flavor that makes you want to go back more often.
  9. What do you mean by "couldn't really keep up with everything going on over there." Specifically "everything going on over there" Specifically, what would be going on at CC that's not happening with 2nd Swing's premier fitting options? He hinted at not liking CC because of their pushy sales environment, and enjoying 2nd Swing way more.

  11. The instructions say 1:1 by weight or volume...
  12. The reason you're in a chicken or egg... is because you're over-emphasizing the role of the golf club. You can get yourself to whatever set of impact conditions you're aiming for, with any set of clubs. Your AoA and Dynamic Loft aren't because your clubs aren't fit. It's because of a fundamental movement pattern with your body. If anything... longer clubs should shallow you out more.
  13. I think trying to fit a hypothetical is an impossibility. I'm sure the guy at CC saw your spin and dynamic loft were way too high and went to the opposite end of the spectrum. I'd recommend getting your swing where you want it, and see what fits you at that point. It's tough to ask a fitter to predict the future. Perhaps... find a coach who is also a fitter... and work with him longer term
  14. It sounds to me like... Club Champion fit your swing You want to be fit to what you want your swing to be. If your AoA is overly steep... unless you're reducing dynamic loft by a massive amount... I bet you spin the blazes out of the ball. Your spin loft window would be massive. Do you know what your dynamic lofts were compared to your static lofts? If you're getting reasonable spin and land angle with a 22 degree P790 5 iron, the overwhelming odds are you're a steep flipper. ..
  15. Well, guess I will give them a hit tomorrow... hopefully the heads do not go flying into a lake.
  16. Did you have adequate spin and land angle?
  17. Just a little worried that it's a little bendable.. but I've had a hallogen light pointing at them, it's been around 80 degrees
  18. Hello, I reshafted my irons yesterday. I used the Golfworks Tour Set epoxy. Does anyone know how hard this epoxy should be after 24 hours? I mixed 10.0 g and 10.0 g of Parts A and B thoroughly, and added shafting beads and mixed again. The result is hard, but somewhat pliable. Not brittle, or rock solid. Can't crack it. Clubheads won't budge when I attempt to twist Good to go, or risky?
  19. Did you ask these questions in your fitting?
  20. So far, B-X is the clear winner for me. TP5-X would be the winner, but the covers don't seem to hold up nearly as long. I've got to test Pro V1 against B-X and that'll determine what I game for 2021... unless Srixon BOGOs next June I will game Z-Star
  21. I have gotten some pretty unplayable 4As... we're talking cart path balls, etc. Also, many of the brands aren't necessarily current gen. For example, you could get a Z-Star or B-X from any gen. Unless it's like "2019 TP5" or "2019 ProV1" it's a crap shoot
  22. Ok, this is the most confusing element of golf for me -- seriously. Nobody can set the record straight. Even the TXG guys fumble back and forth. Pro V1 spins less than Pro V1X BX spins less than BX-S TP5x spins less than TP5 Z Star spins less than Z Star XV Snell MTB spins less than MTB-X Absolutely no consistency... If I struggle with too much iron spin (and spin in general)... what do you guys recommend.
  23. Could someone DM me the photos as well, Thanks
