  6. Use the nickel stripper. If you have any bare spots the hydrochloric acid will damage the base metal
  7. I have tried hot black oxide on stainless after I was told it would work. Boiled for almost 2 hours and nothing happened. Been researching the mil-spec coating that are listed for stainless, but can't find the chemical make up for it. Torched finishes on polished stainless is the best looking. You can get several colors with a little patience. Chromatic bronze is my current favorite.
  8. Gun blue will not work on stainless. You need their ss darkener
