  1. I keep a bag at my in laws lake house for when we visit. It has the same irons as I use in my gamer bag, Nike VRS Forged irons. The rest of the backup bag: Cobra F8 driver TM M4 3HL wood 3-4 Callaway BB hybrids Nike Engage wedges Odyssey Stroke Lab 7 Honestly, i could be perfectly happy using this set up as my main bag if I had to.
  2. How timely, just now the announcers on the CBS broadcast of the Zurich astutely pointed out how 7 woods have become much more popular on the tour.
  3. I was in the same boat...PXG 0211 v1, great irons but i went back to some of my favorite irons, Nike VR S forged irons from 2012. Nike was ahead of their time with this line. Great distance, plenty of forgiveness and superb feel. IMO these are as good as anything out there.
  4. 11.4 HC and I switched back to Nike VR S Forged, had been playing PXG 0211 (Gen 1). The Nike straddle the line of Player irons vs game improvement.
  5. I’ve read that Nike VR S Forged irons were Endo forged, if true they get my vote.
  6. Very nice! I just went back to the VRS forged and picked up another set for backup. Great irons!
  7. There was a saying buyers had at the retailer I worked at...”hand slapped for an overstock, a** kicked for a not in stock”. In addition to lost sales, you lose consumer confidence.
  8. I’ve always used nail polish remover (acetone) to get tee marks off my clubs.
  9. I’m gonna say the Cobra ZL Encore was the first true fairway finder for me...was in the bag for a long time.
  10. I’m bucking the trend and have gone back to Nike VR S Forged irons from 2012, supposedly Endo forged. Bought another set in great shape off eBay for backup.
  11. Gen 1 set of 4-LW making it 10 clubs. Standard loft and lie, 1/4” plus on length. Just regripped with Golf Obe Max feel grips. Price is $599 shipping and pp included to lower 48. Reg flex TT Elevate 95 shafts.
  12. I’m going with my Nike VR S Forged irons to start the season. Those were released back in 2012. Also going with my older Glide 2 wedges. Top of the bag is more recent with Sim Max D, M4 3HL, Sim Max 5w and 4h.
  13. I just started a thread about buying up sets of Nike VRS forged irons which have been discontinued for about 8 years. They’re not as long as my PXG 2011s but I just live the look and feel of the Nikes. They’re relatively cheap but getting harder to find in excellent condition so I keep looking.
  14. I’m an 11 cap so not great but I’m ocd on the appearance of my gear. The set is getting pretty beat and starting to get browning on the wedges so I’d like to get a backup set or two as they’re getting harder to find in excellent condition.
  15. Thanks for the replies, I guess I was trying to justify 3-4 sets of the same irons ha!!!
  16. I know this is a golf forum where people often go through multiple sets of irons in relatively short periods of time and hey, variety is the spice of life. But I had heard that Daniel Berger was now a free agent and went back to his 2011 set of irons and was scouring eBay to find as many as he could find (I’m sure other pros have done this as well). I was just curious if there were any folks that have found their “irons for life” and “hoard” multiple sets of that one model? I’ve recently shelved my PXG 0211s in favor of my back up Nike VR S forged irons that are 8 years old. They
  17. Nike VR S Forged irons 4-G $200 Cobra F8 driver $160 Ping glide 2 wedges 54/58 $160 Callaway 3-4 Bertha hybrids $200 Odyssey Stroke lab 7 $125 total all in $845 for a stellar bag
  18. I bought back some 2012 Nike VRS Forged irons as a back up set and use them regularly...not quite 10 yrs old but 8 is close enough?
