  1. Rh 3 iron. Stock length. Lie: 2 deg flat grip: std align mcc Tensei white 90x shaft. Note that this is the no upcharge Titleist version of the Tensei white and not the TX aftermarket version. ordered direct from Titleist. Played 9 holes and hit at the range off of plush mats a couple of sessions. Was only hit off of grass one shot. $230 shipped
  2. Man, all of a sudden I want that black MP FliHi....like, really want it.
  3. Got to play 9 with my UW yesterday. Hit it 3 times for second shots on the par 5's. First, ok swing, kind of low heel miss that flew low/mid and was about 20 yards short of the green. Great miss. Second, low sun was directly in my face and couldn't see so choked down and hit a screaming low draw that landed just short of the green and rolled over the back. I was intentionally trying to keep it low so could actually see where it was going with the sun. Great miss for a shot I don't really practice. Third, missed my drive right and had about 230 to the green, but had to fade it around a tree to get there. I smoked the UW nice and high, but it did not fade. That is me. I do not have much fade in my swing and it was a lie with ball above my feet. Plenty of height and distance if I had just a bit more skill to cut it would have been pretty good. Pretty fun club. Lots of versatility. With the UW, I feel like when I don't pull off the shot I'm trying I find myself blaming myself and not the club whereas a lot of other clubs in this slot I find myself saying that I just can't pull that shot off with that club.
  4. Hmmm, sounding like this head with red face is going to match up nicely with my Ventus Red.
  5. Trying to find that perfect 3 wood is part of the fun of being on golfwrx. I have owned I think seven 3 woods so far this year.
  6. A year or two ago I had a 19* hybrid and followed that with a PING i500 4 iron. Was a fun setup. The 4 iron for a driving iron is good because it still goes plenty far if you draw it and yet will have more use than just driving off of the tee. Dedicated driving irons are kind of a one trick pony for me since I am already a low ball hitter. I'm thinking of picking up one of the new P790 3 or 4 irons with a graphite shaft. They look fantastic.
  7. Yonex did all carbon woods a looooong time ago. Maruman did all ceramic around the same time if I remember correctly. I remember wanting both badly, but they were super expensive. I'm sure whatever this is will perform light years better than those woods, though.
  8. Played one round. 44" from tip to grip. Should play 45" in 425 driver head. Standard tour velvet. No tipping. $225 shipped
  9. I have a tour issue 57* lie angle Sim2 Max 3HL. Loving it. Was going to dump 3 wood from the bag, but this thing is too good.
  10. Snuck out to hit a few. Man, this head looks just fantastic. The matte and carbon finish are great and the ridgeback looks asymmetrical in photos, but when you put it down by the ball it totally works and the proportions of the steel and carbon on the crown are great. The head size is pretty small, if that appeals to you, this Pro line is for you. The sound and feel is solid. I have the Tensei AV Blue 65x in mine and I'm not sure this the best shaft for me in this head. I generally like a bit heavier shaft in my fairways and I wasn't timing it great. Flight was nice mid boring flight and super easy to launch consistently from the deck. All in all, this is a VERY good looking smaller fairway and I think it is worth taking a look at and getting it dialed in if you lean toward small shapes. I'm going to hit it some more and think about maybe getting a different shaft for it.
  11. I got a 16.5 as part of a golfwrx promotion. Looks super good
  12. Got my 16.5 today. This head looks AMAZING down by the ball. Will try to hit it tomorrow morning.
  13. Another thought I had was that the 19* UW might possibly be very similar to a PING G425 19* hybrid in size, shape and distance. I think the UW would be more for a player trying to flight it and hit "Player type" shots. The G425 would be for someone that wanted more point and shoot.
  14. Ok, got to sneak out and hit a bucket with the 19* Trono 75 Stiff flex. I am 105-108 (trackman) with driver, super inside deliver, low launch and low spin. Trono: this shaft is PLENTY of shaft for me. I am one of those in between S and X and can get away with some softer X's or higher torque X's. I also swing driver more aggressively so generally go X in driver. I play Modus 120x in irons and they are perfect, some say those are soft, some say it's just the bend. I dunno. Anyway, the Trono feels beefy and stout for the waggle and I agree with others, it responded best for me when I tried to smooth out my swing rather than put an aggressive 'hit' on it. This shaft never felt loose to me at all and was super stable and gave me confidence that what I put in was was what i would get out. I like it. I like the textured black finish, kind of like the old black tie's. UW: I actually don't know what I wanted this to be initially. I found it to launch a little lower and more penetrating than I thought it would. That said, it is a mid flight and very strong ball flight for me. I found it to carry about the same as my 5 wood but a much much lower flight. My 5 wood is way way way easier to launch and more forgiving. The 5 wood is less accurate and felt super long length wise, though. Compared to my u505 utility iron, the UW was as expected a bit higher flight and a bit more forgiving on heel strikes. Compared to my 22* hybrid, I carry that club about 210 and can get up to 220 on a draw. The UW was about 220 but up to 230 on a draw. Pretty good gapping between the two. For me, this club was super easy to hit a draw, but my fade attempts just went straight, (probably related to my inside swing path, though). It was not super forgiving, IMO, it doesn't feel like a club that does the work for you, it feels like a club that if you know what you are doing you can get it to hit the shots that you are trying to achieve. Sound and feel was not as loud/tingy as I thought some of the online reviews said it was. Felt great, metallic thwack. For me, if I didn't already have a 5 wood and utliity iron, I would say just get the UW and call it a day. It is close enough to both to do both jobs. I am undecided if I am going to do that and sell the others, though. The 5 wood goes higher, which I like, and the utility iron gives me a feeling of more control, which I like. Lol, so much thought for a club that I generally hit 0-3 times a round
  15. Comparison photo: Mizuno STZ 5 wood, 19 UW, 22 degree g425, 20 degree u505
  16. My first metal driver back in the early 90's. System 2 9* with Dynamic Gold R300. Really wanted the Flex Twist graphite shaft, but was too expensive. That club started a long journey of club ho'ing for me.
  17. Holy crap, the UPS shows it is already in town and expected delivery is today.
  18. Ordered Saturday with Trono 75s. PGA order page shows it has "shipped". Lol, that is crazy fast for these times. I have another club I ordered 2 months ago that hasn't even shipped yet and another club that actually has shipped but is still in transit. If the UW gets here before that club, it will be unbelievable. Also, this is my favorite golfwrx thread in a long time. People just ordering all three lofts and/or multiple versions of the same loft sight unseen.
  19. Lol, order placed for 19 with Trono 75s. I seriously just had my best day on the range with my 5 wood and utility 3 iron as if both clubs somehow knew they were on the block and decided to wake up. (Someone please buy the irons I have up on the bst ). Figured I needed something that goes higher than my utility iron since it finally decided to rain in CA and could be soft for the next couple of months. That's my reasoning for needing this anyway... With my luck, they will run out of heads or shafts and it will be backordered into 2022.
  20. PING heads and ventus up for auction Irons and Tensei still available, but may be going up for auction soon
  21. Played both G425 max and TSi2 PING is more confidence inspiring at address, feel like you can't miss TSi2 feels and sounds better and for me performed a bit better For whatever reason, the PING was low launching and I have played every PING driver for the past 6-7 years and never found them to be low launching. This one was and I could not hit it high enough. I dunno. The PING is a hammer if you can spec it out right for you. The Tsi2 is a sleek and clean driver. Can't really go wrong with either if properly fit. I was not fit for either, btw.
