  1. I seem to hit the toe of every club from wedge to driver. Every clubs is standard loft/lie/length. Not losing much distance but the wear on my clubs shows subtle off-center hits. What's the easiest fix? I play 1991 blades that are cast so bending might be a small issue. I'm also playing R300 shafts which are a bit weak for my 90mph 7i. I've heard flattening the lie a few degrees helps, but I'm pretty reluctant to get a swing analysis done as I'm cheap hence the $75 CAD iron set and vsteel woods (best ever btw). Any help is appreciated!
  2. Personally no experience with the mmt105TX however, my SS with a 7i is 90mph +, carry yardage around 165-170yds and I have not had great success with x100's. Switching to s300's really helped me with a bit higher ball flight. Just personal thoughts but it could also be my moderate transition/tempo. Could always install just one of the mmt's in a 7i and compare.
  3. I would love to add a question to this thread... I have the exact same driver shaft, uncut, just waiting for my tip to come in from golfworks and it's a brand new 46" 70-s same as mentioned above. Would like it to play stiffer. How do I go about doing this? I have all the tools, just not the knowledge!
  4. All great advice thanks. Forgot that my clubs are weaker lofts too. The TS3 I was hitting played at 46.5" and was an x stiff. Never guessed I would gain so much carry. Think the last time I had checked my driver SS I was around 112mph. 285 carry has never been close to my wheelhouse... maybe total yds. Is it still smart for me to stay with a stiff driver shaft? I don't normally swing full out and I feel if I purchased an x stiff shaft I may tend to not load it all the time. Getting away from the 7i thread - sorry.
  5. scenario with question..... I recently went to a fitter at my club asking about installing s300 shafts in my current gamers. He said come take a few swings with my 7i before doing this. 10 index and playing old 1991 tour action blades with R400 shafts. (I am playing these because my clubs were stolen and these were a quick and cheap replacement for 50 bucks). According to the trackman I had a SS of 91 mph at the top end and 88mph at the bottom end. Carry yardage was 168 avg over 20 swings. My SS seemed high to me. I don't feel I swing hard at all which is confusing how my SS could be 90+ but t

  7. **This thread started and has been moved for more exposure although I have received some neat info thus far** Got these cleveland tour action irons with r400 shafts in a trade and I cannot find any info except what the owner had said "they are before the ta-1s, pre 1998 andhe believes they're cast." I want to bend them 2*weak and I'm not sold on them being cast. They feel quite heavy after swinging them and quite forgiving for a pre-98 blade - but I have not weighed the club. Forged is usually stamped to distinguish so they could very well be cast - but from what? How can I find this out - th
  8. Those are all better ideas than I have thx! No serial #'s visible or old markings -just the cleveland classic grip and the r400 shafts to go off. I was so focused on thinking they were pre-TA1 that I forgot about the 588s!!

  10. I have a set coming in that are pre - TA1 from what the seller said. They do not have the hosel or the 588 stamp only Tour Action but are identical to these in every way. They are brand new and look legit but I'm not sure if they are prototypes or what? Any idea what they are please share!
  11. Bought these shafts and the seller couldn't find any info on them - either can I. Anyone have anything or heard of this Iwaki character? Pics are attached but my camera lense is cracked. The red on the shaft is a neat design sort of tribal that says "iwaki" above it and has a crown and some hearts below the grip. They are not stickers but painted or stamped to the shaft. Thought they look different and I thought a nice price for 4-p.
  12. That's why I post the question before trying the DIY method. Folks are smart.
  13. I've just made the decision to pull these but after reading I'm unsure I can pull these without a puller or vice. Buddy said a 9mm wrench and lower heat, cut the ferrule off before heating and pull straight up. I already understand the risk/reward so that discussion is not needed. I want to keep the shafts and i will try on a mediocre shaft first. Just looking for a few tips that could help ease this frustration. TIA
  14. With those club glove travel bags, how much "other stuff" such as clothes can you fit in it? I've read there isn't much room and I'm wondering if I can take a carry-on and this for a 3 wk getaway back home to Ontario.
