Also, I've had a lot of success with some of the Zamst bands and sleeves (elbow, wrist). There are many other brands too. Bear in mind the location of the pain isn't always where you want the band - for example, a wrist brace will help with elbow pain since it takes some of the stress off the tendons that pull through the whole arm. I can also highly recommend ice.

    Old age help!

I've had a variety of injuries and spent a LONG time finding the right graphite iron shaft for me. If I play a round or two with steel, I do have pain afterwards. Not so with graphite. Steelfiber are a good choice, but there are many others. For me, Paderson are the choice. Definitely find a top fitter. Start with your steel shafts for comparison, the fitter will be able to tell the right weight and flex for the particular brand of graphite (as weights and flexes vary greatly). I went too light and it was very detrimental. I did 110, 95 and 85, and have ended back at 110. Too light caused me more pain than heavier - more effort to get the club moving from the top, like throwing a wiffle ball. Club Champion have a lot of graphite in their iron fitting - they've got 70 locations now so there must be one somewhere near you (if you're in the US).
  3. "fewer commercials" ... you guys are comic geniuses! The PGA Tour is one big commercial - interrupted briefly by golf shots in between. Try to count how many times "FedEx" is said during a single golf season. 18 minutes of commercials per hour of television (2 minutes more than when I was a kid). A vast sea of logos on hats, bags, shirts, grandstands... various "sponsored by" throughout. Where do you think the millions in prize money comes from - ticket sales?? I'll miss McCord and Kostis - because they had unique personalities, were real "golf" people, and because they were often able to give insight without the Johnny Miller put-downs. That said, most of the golf I watch is with the sound muted and music playing. U.S. broadcast is ludicrous with nonstop over-commentary and sensationalism. Give me 1000 Gary McCords over the Dan Hicks and Terry Gannons of the field - Where. Every. Word. Gets. A. Pause. For. Effect! Give me the European Tour broadcasters who take a breath every once in a while.

  5. I'm confused by all the talk of "offset" on these irons. If these are "players distance" irons, which seems to be the category for all the hollow irons, where exactly have Cobra "dropped the ball"? 8. > @J13 said: > 790's setup more like a players iron with minimal offset. Yes, the 790 offset specs are in line with the T100 - definitely less than the T200, or the 718 AP3 and AP2. FWIW, the M5 irons are also less offset that the T200 - very close to T100.

  10. > @"Big Ben" said: > AP2 has been such a successful franchise I just don’t understand why they would end the branding. Simple - as many have pointed out, the numbering no longer worked. For years, there was AP1 (high offset/forgiveness) and AP2 (low offset and forgiveness). Then an iron in between was introduced with what some called "awkward" and "confusing" model number AP3 (mid offset/forgiveness). In addition to what was apparently an unsatisfactory branding and marketing situation, there is a rumor of a T400, more offset and forgiving than T300/AP1. Which would have been - AP4? Bear in mind, many questioned why Titleist abandoned the DCI brand, but that's worked out well enough for them. What I really don't get is why they went in the order they did... since it seems opposite of the driver and fairway woods. TS1 is the most forgiving driver, TS4 the least. T100 are the least forgiving irons, T300 (or T400) the most. That seems like a mistake.

  12. This thread is 100% about looks - zero concern for playability. Where any technology is concerned, form is bound to follow function. See - Ping Eye 2, et al. If all that matters is pretty, play musclebacks and wear a tiara.
