  1. The biggest problem with today's equipment is not length, it's the forgiveness. Give Bryson a circa 1980 persimmon driver with steel shaft and balata ball. He would still crush it over 300 yards, but his misses would hook/slice 40 yards offline.
  2. I live in Florida, land of the fire ants. If their were any fire ants near his ball, he would not have been standing there for minutes waiting for the marshall. Fire ant bites are almost as painful as bee stings. . He made a fool out of himself...
  3. 2020 is a crazy year. Maybe later today the Golf Channel will televise the professional Rodeo Tour.
  4. And to make it worse, Golf Channel is stopping golf coverage to show the worst European Soccer team to see if they can avoid relegation. Can't make this crap up... Nothing will grow soccer in America than broadcasting the worst team in the league on the Golf Channel. Great job NBC...
  5. Well...you explained it to me, thanks. NBC decrees today National European Soccer Day. Yeah....
  6. Can someone explain to me how this makes sense. Today's Golf Channel programming... 10:00-11:00 Golf Central Pregame 11:00-1:00 Premier League Soccer I would rather watch a rebroadcast of the British Masters...or how about this...a longer live broadcast Golf Central Pregame or todays Korn Ferry event. Is it me, or is NBC ruining the Golf Channel.
  7. I'm sure Seminole looks more impressive in person. On TV it did nothing for me. Wide fairways, no trees and no rough. Did not live up to all the hype IMO.
  8. I have been a volunteer walking scorer several times at PGA and Korn Ferry events. Majority of professional golfers walk far ahead of their playing partners, sometimes 100 yards ahead. Also, professional golfers often walk off the putting green and head to next tee before their playing partners hole out (that surprises me). I doubt very much they consider that poor etiquette.
  9. It certainly does not eliminate sandbagging. Their is one guy who gives up on a hole if he is not going to make birdie. I just don't understand why anyone would take satisfaction of not always trying your best. That's the entire purpose of sport and competition.

  12. Wonder if this is trending in other clubs. I play in two different weekend golf leagues at two different courses (Saturday/Sunday). Neither league uses or cares about GHIN or what you score outside league play. They use handicap software and only track your scores in their league play. They payout for stableford scoring and have skins based on gross/net scores. Both these leagues are pretty big, always 30-40 players. I like it, makes it less likely sandbaggers will tank a round when they pay into a cash pot each week. For new players, you need 3 rounds in the league before you get a h
  13. Short par 4. I slice my tee-shot into the woods, hits a tree and bounces into the middle of the fairway. Pin is tucked behind a bunker, back left of green. I aim for the middle of the green with an 8 iron and pull it left...right into the hole for an eagle. I hit a awful drive and a poor second shot and got a 2. Didn't deserve it...
  14. Florida courses are open. I have been playing every week. I live near Orlando and don't know of one course that is closed. Not sure where the OP got his information, but it's wrong.
  15. I so much want to like the Queen Bee 5, but the head is so much smaller to the Newport I am use to. I am also looking at Piretti's... starting to get paralysis by analysis.
