  1. I used to putt over at Collindale GC in Fort Collins which is where I met Martin. I didnt really get to know him because he was so focused on practicing back then. I remember talking to one of his college teammates who beat Martin as much as he lost to him back then. The guy told me that Martin was much better than him and all you had to do was watch him hit long irons on the range to understand what he was talking about. So I went over to the range to see. The guy wasnt lying. Martin was launching these majestically long and high 3-irons repeatedly. Making it on tour is tough b
  2. I’ve followed Martin closely since he turned pro. I had the opportunity to meet him way back when he was playing collegiately at Colorado State in Fort Collins. So I had a lot of fun yesterday as I watched him find a way to win. The strength of his game is his long irons (towering high fades) and that plays well in Vegas with its gettable par 5’s. His putting stats for the week were not very good until Sunday. His ball striking for the week was fantastic. He’s had a heck of a career for an unheralded journeyman. Four PGA Tour wins (one less than Luke Donald, as many
  3. My home course (i also work part-time there) in Colorado never closed. We were able to stay open with the permission of our county Board of Health after spending time with them going over how we were going to deal with all of the issues. My bigger limiter has been hip replacement surgery in late January, to go with walking only, and a closed range. I have walked 18 holes but feel better playing only 9 right now. I had set a goal of playing by April 1 and managed to beat it by a week. My swing is gradually getting there. My distance is about 90-95%, the pain is gone, and I can finally get
  4. Mavrik 4W. Arrived on Tuesday and played 9 with it in the bag on Wednesday. It’s solid.

I probably don’t play more than 90-100 holes in a good month. > The last time I played in an event with any significance was finals of Q school in 2016 and my knee was so smashed, it doesn’t even count because I was out of it after 9 holes. Before that it was a web.com event in 2008 when I had no game. > I am not scared at all, I got game, I can compete, my emotions say I can beat all these has beens. > > As an outside ob

They were fantastic. 28 putts, 5 birdies with 4 of them between 10-20'. No 3-putts. After a shaky start, I played the last 14 holes at -3. I haven't been this excited about

  9. You can bet that he's been pointing his game toward peaking at Augusta in April.
  10. I decided to pull the trigger on a copper Spider X. I've never liked Spider putters but there's something about this particular model that really suits me. I line it up well and I really like the more streamlined look.
  11. So back in January I had a chance to hit the Maxfli Tour ball on course in a straightest drive contest. I had to hit a new Tommy Armour model driver instead of my own with the Maxfli Tour ball. I chose a Head/ shaft combo I had hit pretty well on the range a couple of days earlier and chose the Maxfli Tour X ball because it was described as a great alternative to a Pro V1x. And because of the manufacturing process, the Maxfli Tour s billed as a very straight ball. I had been driving the ball pretty straight anyway so take this for what it's worth. I swung and everybody who watched was am
  12. Replaced a Rogue SZ with an EPIC Flash SZ. My numbers are a little better. Not sure if they were enough to justify switching but sometimes I like new and shiny.
  13. I personally think you can't even compare the Spider X to the previous Spider models. The feel is so much better the Spider X. I would agree with this 100%. I've never been a big fan of the Spider line but the Feel of the Spider X combined with a less boxy look has me really considering adding one to my arsenal. When I putted with one a few weeks ago I made a bunch more than usual.
