  2. Diamana D+ 70 in my 5w. Velocore Red 7 in my 7w and Diamana D+ 80 in my 9w.
  3. Another vote for the 0311P. Great irons that feel fantastic. They are bigger than the P790’s but the feeling at impact is excellent and very consistent distance. 0311T has a bit less offset in a slightly smaller package but don’t feel quite as soft as the P’s most likely due to less of the magic stuff PXG uses in the T head as compared to the P head. More bounce in the PXG irons with slightly wider soles which may be a good thing or bad thing depending on what works for your swing.
  4. Went from MD5 in 54/58 to Black Full Toe and love them. All the playability of the MD5 with full toe. Took a few swings to get used to the profile but they are fun to hit. Just as good on full swings as partial.
  5. Try this chart out from: PDF – Wood Comparison – Pro's Choice Golf Shafts (proschoicegolfshafts.com) It is very accurate when comparing one GD shaft to another. GD shafts all tend to have somewhat of the same basic bend profile and then the specific shaft is tweaked by GD to provide more specific flexes in each zone. The newer releases have newer materials so IMO the newer shafts have better feel and overall seem like better shafts in distance and dispersion. TP is a great shaft, it just does not have the feel that the HD does, probably due to the newer material in the HD. XC is more like a Diamana D+ as it is soft in the hands and stiff mid and stiff tip. These are relative terms to other GD shafts as the XC is not as stiff in the tip as say a Tensei Pro White. XC would be fine in a 3w/5w depending on what type of feel you like in your fairway woods. I like the softer butt shafts but stiffer mid and tip, but not overly so as for my swing and how I load the shaft I don't need an ultra stiff tip or mid as it seems like you also lose feel with those unless you have a late release and/or generate a lot of speed. I don't believe you would hook the XC unless the flex and/or tipping is off for your swing. I would tend more towards a slightly softer mid/tip shaft in the fairway wood like the HD rather than the XC but it is all personal to how you load the shaft. Tipping can play a big part of what you are looking for in a specific shaft, so either "buy and try" to experiment or get fit. VR is another I tried but it is similar to the TP and HD but with less feel as the butt end is a bit stiffer than both. I liked the HD the most, then the TP and then the VR. VR felt the most "brittle" of the bunch to me. DI has a very soft mid and why some get along with it and others don't. More like a Diamana Blue profile but softer overall in my opinion. IZ is like a DI but with better control as it has the newer material in it I believe. IZ has a soft mid, not as soft as the DI and has a wonderful kick to it and seems a bit more controllable than the DI, but I would imagine if you are hooking the DI then the IZ is going to be similar in that respect. If you have a GD that you like but want a bit stiffer mid, tip or softer butt, whatever, compare what you know and have hit to the chart and it should steer you in a direction. I would say if you like a shaft like a Diamana D+/White you are going to tend to like the HD, TP or XC. If your swing is more Diamana S+/Blue you are going to tend to like the DI, IZ and possibly the VR. The VR was a strange shaft to me as the firmer butt gave you a different sensation at impact that I don't care for, but many do like a stiffer butt end as they get the feeling that they may have more control of the shaft. If you are an old Aldila NV profile type user, there are no real GD profiles that match up well as the NV was a very linear shaft from tip to butt and more of a one-piece type of shaft in performance and feel, depending on the weight. Another good source of shaft reviews is: Graphite Design Tour AD HD Shaft Review | Not allowed because of spam They do a very good job of comparing shafts to other shafts and I have found that they are very accurate in their assessments.
  6. HD is the closest I hit to the TP and feels better. XC is an improved BB but with better feel in the hands. DI and IZ are the softest of the bunch. IZ was the longest shaft of the bunch but hard to control if I tried to go after it. DI I never cared for as it spun too much. Played the TP for most of last year and then tried the IZ, XC and HD this year. HD was the winner with XC a close 2nd. Hit some of the longest drives with the IZ but dispersion was a mixed bag. HD had the best mix or distance, dispersion and feel to me of the shafts noted. Back to a Diamana D+ 70 though as it just works for me.
  7. Put together a split set of 0311P and 0311T and loved the P's but not so much the T's as I don't play as much as I used to and I never was an iron player who really compresses the ball. The P heads just seem to work better for my sweeper style swing. Only trade I am looking for is a PXG 0311P GEN 3 Gap Wedge (GW). Any shaft is fine or head only is fine. $450 - PXG GEN3 0311T 7-PW HEADS ONLY - Overall in very good condition with minimal marks from light use - No big dings or gouges or anything that would impact performance - Grooves and faces are excellent except for a scrape type mark on the 7 iron face out towards the toe from a swing in a sand trap where I did not realize there was some debris under the sand. Price is Paypal'd and Shipped. Shipping in the US ONLY. Payment by Paypal ONLY. Shipping by Priority Mail with Tracking. Thanks, Bill
  8. I didn’t think of that. That would be funny if every putt he or she tried just could not find the bottom of the cup.
  9. I ordered a 100 pack of 2019 ProV1x from Golf Ball Planet this past Friday when they ran a 15% off coupon. 2nd time I have ordered from them after not having great experiences lately with LGB. They arrived today via FedEx which is amazing to get a package from FedEx in 3 days as every other FedEx shipment I have had come my way has given me the “Potentially Delayed” somewhere along its path to me. I guess fast has some consequences as the package arrived today and looked like it had been attacked by a pack of wild dogs looking for food. My wife called me to tell me they arrived and how many did I order as the box was ripped to near shreds. I said 100 and she says looks like just 50 showed up. She said the FedEx guy noted the package as “damaged” and went on his way. I send an email to Golf Ball Planet with the pictures below and before they even replied back to me I received a notice of shipping (FedEx again, so we shall see). They followed up with an email immediately after the shipping notice that they were shipping out the missing 50 balls today. I did not expect a response today and much less did not expect a response and shipping confirmation within a few minutes of sending them an email. The number of posts complaining about whichever OEM or company had whichever issue is what is usually posted about. I thought it would be nice to give Golf Ball Planet some props for outstanding customer service! Well done Golf Ball Planet! You definitely have a customer for life.
  10. Playing PXG after years of playing Ping irons. No learning curve with the PXG’s regarding turf interaction but some adjustment in distance due to the stronger lofts. G25 to i5 to i200 to i210 primarily with some stops in between with the G30, G, and G700). PXG has some of the club designers from Ping so they look like Pings but feel much better. PXG’s do have high bounce which is good for my swing so they fit me well. Never got along with Titleist since the old 962’s left my bag years ago.

  12. Possibly but it is a lot of work to go through that kind of inventory
  13. I think most everyone played or at least hit the Mizuno back then. I played mine with an X100 steel shaft and it was awesome.
