  1. It’s been a while since I have played either. Only played the front nine at Canyon course. Was a fun course to play. Played all 18 on Painted Valley. A very nice course with many good holes layed out in nice rolling terrain. Might be more homes around the course now but a few years ago (10 or so) It was pretty secluded. Some of the holes looking over browns canyon on the backside of the property were very picturesque. Solid amenities, snacks and waters on some of the tee boxes. Painted Valley gets my vote. Have fun and post pics!!
  2. Here are a few pictures of winter golf in St. George, UT. Sky Mountain and Green Springs.
  3. Hey RSInSG, thanks for the input. You hit it on the head with the course descriptions. I have played both many times...should have been more clear in what info I was looking for. I would assume fast winter season fairways like you mentioned. On a side note....I haven’t played Ledges in a few years, since before I believe 16 was being redone. How has that all come along? Done? Looking pretty good probaby? Thanks for the info.
  4. Hey RSinSG...have you played any rounds lately at Green Springs or Sky Mtn? Anyone else have any info on these course as well...feel free to chime in. Thanks!
  5. Has anyone out there ever taken advantage of this deal before? Sounds like a pretty good deal.
  6. I will chime in on the course. The course is in the middle of nowhere. We played it the first week it was open to the public. Payed 55 bucks. At that price it was a good deal. When they go up to their regular rack rate at 120ish I would not pay that to play there. The course Is new, had some interesting holes, has some so so holes. Still needs a lot of work. Carts paths fixed, on course bathrooms, starter shack, food. There is really no services at the course...again it’s brand new. No joke it is literally a 10 minute drive from check in trailer to the first tee...no exaggeration. The practice range and practice green next to the first tee are nice. The area around the Course is nice, there is a lot of area to put hotels, houses, mixed use developments. There are a few parade of home homes in the area. In the future I think it might be a top 10 course in Utah. I don’t believe that this will be a top 100 resort course in the US. I have no knocks or bad things to say about the course. I feel it will be a while before the area develops into a golf resort/community. I just don’t see people driving out past Sand Hollow Golf Course and paying $120+ for a round at Cooper Rock. Good course... it has potential to be great...it lacks the wow factor of Sand Hollow. Pricing will be key to make this course successful!! These are all my 2 cents, go play it to check it out for yourself.
  7. I will throw a vote in the mix for Salt Lake City, UT and the surrounding areas of Utah County, Heber City, Midway, and Park City. We have some great courses. Soldier Hollow, Wasatch Mountain, Bountiful Ridge, Valley View...the list goes on an on. There are lots of great, cheap public golf courses. There are many private courses in the area with a variety of exclusivity. Let me know if you have questions or recommendations.

  9. Thanks for the info. Chanceman, did you play these courses recently?
  10. Looking for a little intel about courses in the Grand Junction area. We are thinking about going 10/17 to 10/20. Any info on quality of course, current conditions, course rankings, courses to play over others, which ones to skip, etc. we plan on playing 36, 36, 18 Friday to Sunday. We are looking at Redlands Mesa, Devils Thumb, Ironbridge. Are any of these worth playing twice? We might add in Terra Rado as on of our extra rounds. I have heard mixed reviews in the past about Lakota Canyon...mostly about course conditioning, any thoughts ? We don’t mind driving a bit, and we are thinking of staying in Grand Junction. Thanks for all the help with the info.
