1. Next time around you need to play Poppy Hills. I love the new layout! Fast and firm just like Pinehurst
 2. I know this is a comment that has been beat down to death...but I hope Tiger returns to Butch. Not a knock on Foley, I think he has great concepts. But Butch is great for working with what a player has and working around it. He needs to work around his back now it seems...
 3. Tiger please take the rest of the season off. Hope he is okay.
 4. Man, I wish the best for Tiger. I think he returned too soon. He needs to take the rest of the year off and come back in October
 5. I think his timing and sequence are just off. He is no where close to his speed. Take a look at his stats. Average ss is 115, ball speed 170. This isn't Tiger. Once his speed picks up his timing and sequence will come together. He should be 119-120mph...
 6. Tour z6!!!!! No doubt. I had Leupold before, not even close
I am going in October!!! Still going to try buying these though on the 4th. If I can't snag em, hopefully I can order some at the Oven.
How does one obtain the privileges to attend the oven? Id love to go. I would rather go there than my upcoming honeymoon. I was under the assumption it is invite only?
Bought one of the certificates that were sold on classifieds forum! Going for 2 wedges custom grind by Mike Taylor. Once in a lifetime
Mike Taylor is awesome! You'll have a great time. Tell him I need a new set when the new ones come out.
Yeah the suckiest thing is the wedges after the wedges from the Oven LOL
 8.
how much did the fitting certificate cost you?
1k, but it was going to charity. Can't put a price on helping people out Especially when its a trip to the Oven

Once in a lifetime
Wow lucky man. When did they sell those? That is incredible. I'm excited for you and hope you share your experience.
Thank you! This was about a week ago. There was a driver fitting...and a wedge fitting! I will definitely do a write up on my trip there!

 12. I can't wait to go the OVEN!!!! Hopefully the food and the golf courses in the area are excellent.
 13. NICE!!! Congrats! and don't get in the way of yourself. Just play!
 14.

I started over speed training with a 115mph ss. 3 times per week. 3 reps on my knees, standing, happy gilmore style both directions. I was getting reading of 120-125 highest was 130mph. This was in a 6 week span. Previously I went from 105 to 115mph by incorporating power lifting into my workouts. Combine heavy DL, Squats, Bench movements and over speed training is what worked for me. I took some weeks off while traveling and I've noticed that my increases have diminished. So its something that has to be done at least 3 times per week to keep it constant.
We're you hitting balls with that reading?.....if so...results?? I liked your notion that this is something that you have continue to do...makes sense
Sorry I didn't see this. No I wasn't. It was always kept my practice practice and training training. I actually would do this on days off from playing
 15. Anyone know which manufacture makes the lightest heads for irons? Looking for something to fit my 11 year old son, in a senior shaft

Definitely worth it, raises the value of the house too should you wish to sell.
^^^ I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not... OP, only you can tell if it will be worth it. How often will your family use it? Is the 7k a large amount of money, or something that won't really be missed? How big is your backyard? How big are you planning the putting green for? The most important question.... What does your wife think?
I have an 11 year that is just getting into junior golf...I would use it probably 4 times a week. Backyard already has a pool so the green wont be too big. Wife doesn't care she is pretty open to anything I want to do as far as golf goes. I guess I'm asking if anyone has seen a dramatic improvement in their short game with one installed.
 17.
Are you thinking synthetic or real grass? Here's an interesting site for folks that build their own greens. http://www.putting-g....com/index2.htm
Definately synthetic.
 18. Looking for your experience on a backyard putting green? Do you have one, do you use it? Is it worth it? I figure it's going to run me about 7k. My local driving range is 15 min from my house and the greens there are very low end quality. My son is 11 and is just now getting serious about junior golf. Your thoughts please...
 19.
the other advantage for US Kids is that you can caddy them, which might be a little more comforting for the guy, whereas the other tours like JGANC and Junior Tour you have to be at least 25 yds away from them and cannot talk to them during the round...
Thanks! I actually signed him up for that. I will caddie for him at Blackhawk and possibly Chardonnay in Napa the week after. He wanted to sign up for the Castlewood 11 and under on the 28th...so I signed him up for that one. Which is cool because I want to see if he likes the course, I was thinking of joining Castlewood. I have NCGA qualifying at Poppy that same day so I won't be able to watch him play that day which is a bummer.
 20.
I wouldn't recommend the junior tour for your son yet. It is not by age group, it is by handicap. 4 or better is champion flight, my son is a 5 so he plays first flight. Since its not by age group, your 11 year old will be up against kids as old as 18, playing from the whites. The 11s and 12s that play with my 14 year old are pretty good, they will be about 78-86 for 18 holes. He would probably be better off playing 9 hole events in JGANC, there are a few and probably US Kids where the yardages are shorter by design. In JGANC he will be in the 10-11 age group. You can go to the JGANC website and look up tournament results from that age group in past tournaments to give you an idea. Understand that some of the kids playing these things practice every day for the last 4-6 years. Some tournaments the JGANC only starts with 12-13s. It's always hard for new kids when they play against these really experienced boys, emphasize the process and not to look at immediate results, this is tournament golf, so there are no mulligans. I'm in the Bay Area too, and yes we slogged through tournament golf since my son was 9. It is a tough sport and tournament golf will require a dedication and willingness to work, it is a process, there will always be something to work on and that doesn't even approach the cost of equipment and playing costs. If you haven't done it yet I would recommend getting him a youth on course card. It is run by the NCGA and allows him to play at a big discount in quite a few of the courses in the area, mostly twilight. A lot of courses will only charge from 4-6 dollars and he can usually get in 9 holes at least, courses like Dublin Ranch, San Ramon, Pleasanton. Only you understand the competitive and athletic nature of your child. Mine was mainly an all-star year round baseball player who just played golf in the winter until 13 when we decided to do golf full time and drop the baseball. That's because he was good at golf, but for tournaments you have to be more than good if you want to be near the top. It is a lot of work, just don't make it seem like work. Good luck.
Thanks for all the replies guys. I just recieved his YOC membership. In my area I don't see anything based off of flight and skill. I had a talk with him last night and he understands the dedication and work eithic it will take to get to a competitive level. Our goal this year is to get him to a level where he can shoot 45-50 for 9 holes. He's improved a bit over the last month and I took him to Poppy Ridge which is an NCGA course in our area and he shot 52. He starts school in August so he is going to play another few tournaments until school starts and then really try and improve this year. I think as long as he understands the process and not get wrapped up in where he finishes he is on the right track. I would do anything for this little guy. Thanks for all the replies
