  1. Will Zalatoris goes to the KF Finals to get his card for 2023.
  2. Driver used to be a difficult club to hit, a guy had to really sack up on 18 with a tournament, a cut, a club championship or a press on the line. If a hole had trouble on both sides there was a time when the 1 iron came out. You would be INSANE today to choose a 1 iron over a driver, it’s now the easiest club in the bag to hit.
  3. I love slapping it around and grinding out a good score. I’ll take that every time.
  4. Making the fields and tour membership smaller reduces competition. This just makes it easier for the already exempt players to coast, they are in the field and have to beat fewer players to make cuts and/or win. I would love the idea of reducing the exempt cards if it meant more spots to Monday qualifiers and rewarding guys who are not exempt for their made cuts or higher finishes. But this isn’t what Horschell has in mind, he wants the current crop of top players protected and basically given a longer life span with less risk for turnover. Fewer players means less competitive tournaments.
  5. He plays some Indiana section PGA events. Won their senior open last year I think.
  6. Didn’t the senior tour used have a Super Senior tournament every week for guys over 60? I think it was the first 2 days of the tournament.
  7. Depends on where you start I guess. Start at a 10 and I don’t care how far you hit it, 400 yards would still be almost zero to get on the + side of scratch. But take a fella that played some high level of golf for a while, took time away to start a career and a family and he hits it 230 when he returns? I’d give him a chance.
  8. It sucks. That’s as deep as I want to get.
  9. He won using a variety of vastly different techniques. I’d say he put in countless hours of effort and was determined to find a method that he could commit to. The various iterations of arm lock then again various iterations of the long putter prove that his commitment to improving are the keys to his success. If the long putter somehow did not exist he would have found something else, the lack of a long putter would not have relegated him to an office job.
  10. I think players like Langer would have won the same amount putting with crooked tree branches, broken table legs or the latest Scotty Cameron. He was going to win because of his will, effort and determination. The various methods and equipment he used was a way to commit to something that he could practice and repeat consistently. There was nothing magic about the putter or the technique, it was the repeated effort and commitment that brought him success.
  11. I have never seen anyone use a sharpie and doing so should get a person the death penalty.
  12. This definitely happens. Every once in a while on golf channel coverage a guy will hit an iron to the sound of a driver or a putt gets nice a flush iron shot piped in. Some people say it’s a mic feed from another player. The TopTracer also occasionally shows the ball flight before contact. There was a pic of Phil earlier this year at the top of backswing and tracer had already shown the ball flight. Some of TV golf is not what actually occurs on the course.
  13. I say go ahead and put those animals out there to make the sounds. Every Tuesday with 4 holes left in the pro am the local non accredited zoo releases 18 dangerous animals on the grounds.
  14. As others have mentioned- the turf on a sim might wreck your hands, wrists or elbows. My son (4) loves TopGolf and we’ve had their summer pass the last 2 years. The first year after 3 or 4 visits my left elbow was hurting constantly. I had never had a problem before and in college I hit 1,500 balls a week no problem. Finally figured out it was the mat at TopGolf. This year I’d hit maybe 10 balls on a visit and just let my son whack away to keep from having that come back. The turf really did tear me up, so be mindful of that. Would hate to see you sink serious dough into a simulator then cringe at the thought of using it.
  15. How much body fat could he have dropped? Already about a 28 waist?
  16. Yeah I’m not exactly looking like a soothsayer here huh!? I didn’t see any coverage today but the Twitter says he hit 18 GIR, which I’m told is as good as a guy can do.
  17. Careful. I got a time out when I posted that possibly his most recent car accident was intentional.
  18. Man, join Wigwam and play until you drop. Custom clubs are fine but not really a difference maker unless you have something really unusual in your build or set up. Real golf beats a simulator 100 times out of 100. If I were close to wigwam I’d do do that in a second.
  19. Are we saying that golf is more physically demanding than……… Navy SEAL training?
  20. Tiger’s “word” is not typically associated with the truth.
  21. A USGA membership is $36 online - it includes this type of information along with the bag tag and sticker?
