  1. Hey there, I'm in the same boat as well, love discussing architecture and sketching golf holes. I haven't had much experience with Flynn courses. How would you compare his stuff to Ross, Tillinghast, Mac, etc? Personally I'm a big fan of Doak and Jackson Kahn Design. Totally different stylistically but I admire both firms thinking outside the box and taking creative risks in their own way.
  2. Curious to know people's tastes and preferences on current golf course architects. If you were to have a current golf course architect help build your dream course who would it be and why?
  3. My 5 Augusta National Cypress Point National Golf Links of America Merion Royal County Down And some lesser-known courses Cape Wickham Eastward Ho Gozzer Ranch St George's Hill Valderrama
  4. Slope ratings are never 100 percent accurate and I've experienced similar situations myself. How people perceive difficulty is often influenced by how the course suits their game. For me, length is a much bigger issue than hazards so I'd probably do better at a short, tight course than a longer, more open one even if they have the same rating.
  5. Double post please ignore and post in other thread
  6. We've all seen the "show me your (insert putter maker here)" threads. Let's see some of your headcover collections...

  8. I am a competitive junior player and I use the reflex cart for all my tournaments. It's pretty well equipt and folds up very well. However I find it tips over too easily. Especially if u have the umbrella up on a windy day.
  9. Google Lee Wybranski. He does posters and art for a bunch of majors and there's often some course drawings
  10. Heading down next week. Looks like there are plenty of options...
  11. It seems like many of you feel strongly about the tie between Augusta National and the Masters. Fair enough. Let's modify the topic and suggest candidate courses for a hypothetical major tournament held around the same time of the year as the Masters.
  12. With the Masters coming up shortly, I'm interested to know what your opinion is on this. Which course would be best to host the Masters if it weren't at Augusta National? *****TOPIC EDIT****** It seems like many of you feel strongly about the tie between Augusta National and the Masters. Fair enough. Let's modify the topic and suggest candidate courses for a hypothetical major tournament held around the same time of the year as the Masters.
  13. Hello everyone, I'm heading down to Hilton Head (and surrounding area) in March and want some input on what courses to play. I'll probably play Harbour Town once but haven't planned anything else. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Not too convinced by this list either. Firstly, I think the people who rated these courses thought more about how the course looks over how it plays. Also, they made how private and exclusive the club was a big factor as well. I've played... St. Georges, Kiawah, Whistling Straits and Spring City
