  1. Wondering what everyone has as their goals in the game, especially for guys around scratch. I am a close to 0 cap now and was talking to our pro and he was asking what my goals are, which got me thinking as I did not really have many like I used to. I used to have goals of single digit, 5 cap, shoot par, shoot under par, break 70, all greens in regulation, 0 or better cap, and bogie free round. I still haven’t gotten to 0 or better yet or had a bogie free round so they are definitely goals for 2020. I like having several goals so would love to hear some of the ones you all have. Cheers, MG
  2. Quick background is that when I got fitted into my clubs one of the things we were doing was trying to get the spin up on my irons. I am very much a sweeper so I guess that was part of the issue. I played a tournament this past weekend where the greens were pretty new and were a little challenging to hold for everyone but definitely a concern for me more than most. I would guess my swing speed is around 110 with the driver, prob carry 265-275 with really well struck drivers and currently around a 1HCP FWIW. I lost distance changing irons (maybe half a club) to get the spin up even though I wen

Try hitting down on your 3 wood a little more. You have plenty of speed to launch it. Also, while this may sound counter-intuitive, make sure the ball is not too far forward in your stance, a common error with fairways which can actually cause you to try to help it in the air because of where you are naturally bottoming out, and also leads to thin contact and low ballflight. > Get some width in your backswing. Don’t pick up the club,
  4. Ok so since I had so many people offer advice I figure the least I can do is update you all. I went to the range tonight after a couple weeks off, which is apparently what I needed. The short version of this is I fixed a couple things I was doing in my swing with only my 3 wood and immediately hit it great. The long version is that I read through the above and went to the range with a few things I was going to try. Mainly moving the ball around and sweeping some and hitting some like an iron etc. I went to my 3 wood after my driver so I set up somewhat similar with weight on back foot a bit

I personally hated it and had similar experiences as you (had a G hybrid for a minute), although some people who swing slower than me seem to like it. Go figure. > I have had great success matching my driver and fairway shafts. You can try that, or get something mid launch like a Blueboard or Rogue Black. > Thanks for this info. I re

For reference I play G400 driver, 3 wood, hybrid. I dont crush the ball but probably drive around 280-290 when really hitting it well. I hit my 19 hybrid around 220-230 carry. I am in stiff shafts and been fitted for all but my 3 wood. My driver I play a paderson and hybrid play an iron shaft (Oban something). 3 wood I was recommended that I would do well with the tour shaft in stiff. Which may be the right shaft but for some reason

It will definitively help you with launch and carry. It was a game changer for me. Other brands are doing the 16.5* heads too. Another suggestion would be to try a higher launching shaft. I am pretty sure that those PING Tour shafts are low/low but someone correct me if I am wrong. Also, don't discount that it might just be your swing! All good points. More so because I used to pay one of those HL’s. I just d

You did not ask how often I hit it well... I am also in the South so I benefit from Warm weather. I prob average 260/70 maybe. The 280/90 is for a dog leg 4 at my course that runs around 300. Depending on wind I can reach green when really going after it. The result is either on line and short, on the green, or a snap hook. All equal possibilities to each other to be

  13. So it is intended that way on these irons? Just seemed weird. I have no complaints at all as I have been loving the irons and playing well but was just curious.
  14. Very random question but was cleaning my clubs the other day and noticed that I have very defined milling or something like that on the faces of my 8-U irons. However, dont have anything on the 4-7. Just seemed odd and curious why that could be? I obviously haven’t hit my 4-7 more so it isn’t like they are worn down.
  15. I could be interested in this depending how much the cost is?
