1. I think the decline in format is because all fee based courses would still charge for 4 green fees even though you're only playing two balls. Nobody wants to pay full price to hit half the shots.
No because at that point his intention was to not hit the ball so no stroke.
 3.
I talked with Ted, Bubba's caddy about it and told him I knew it was going to happen, long before Bubba even got to the tee. I told him that I made sure I wasn't anywhere near the guy so I couldn't be blamed. Ted said "smart move on your part"!
So if you knew it was going to happen, why not take a moment to help the guy out instead of waiting for the train wreck?
 4.
Drives it 180!?!?........she is going to be very humbled at the Open. She will not be able to reach some of the fairways. This is a great achievement and I'm all for being able to play your way in but this is not going turn out well.
She qualified for the Women's Am not the Open.
 5.
Well, he's no longer an 8 handicap...............................
Probably about a six now. I once shot 78 when I was a 13. It was during a match and I was even through 14 when I closed the guy out...then doubled the final four holes (par 70).
 6. On Friday, I made birdie on a 515 yard par 5 by hitting two four irons and a wedge. Play to your strengths.
 7. Love the pull back drill...putt to a hole, if you don't make it, pull your ball back three feet from where it ended and putt again. Keep your score over a nine or 18 hole "course". Forces you to get really good lagging and really really good at making 4-5 footers.
 8. A+++++! Excellent thread.
 9. The course I played on Saturday and Sunday had American Flags on the flagsticks and provided holders next to each green to keep the flag off the ground.

He hit his ball in the grass on the other side of the path. He would have been on the curb so what the TV said made sense.
But if he was on the curb, wouldn't he have had to also take relief from the cart path?
His feet would have been on the curb. That is what he was taking relief from based on what TV said. Sort of like the sprinkler rule I gathered.

 12.
In which I tried to encourage him by saying "You can work through this."
I know you mean well but people don't like a group cheerleader. Unless you know them well, if someone hits a bad shot, just don't say anything.
