  1. I am getting a chance to try a set of Mizuno MP5, but deep down I really want to pull the trigger on a set of TayloreMade P790's. I have always been a fan of Callaway though. I hit the 790's at a Golf Galaxy about a week ago and loved them. I am also due for a new set of wedges.
  2. I just got my net set up in my garage and I am struggling on picking a driving range mat. I love the large thick lush ones that my range currently and I am having a hard time picking one out online that matches that quality. This will be sitting on concrete in my garage. Anybody got any suggestions? Thanks.
  3. All - So on my "Personal" Christmas list for this year is a new putter. I have been eyeing the Cameron M2 for awhile now. I got the Golf Galaxy coupons for 100 off a 400 purchase. I thought, this is it I am pulling the trigger on it. However, as some of you may have already known this I went in and Golf Galaxy said that was an excluded item from their discount. Frustrated, I left as the website did not show what was excluded other than Ping. Anyway - So I feel less than confident on not getting took on a fake one on Ebay etc. I have had a few friends that have gotten taken a couple ti
  4. All - I have been golfing since high school off and on, really been hitting it hard the last few years. I used to play a lot in high school, played for the team etc. Anyway - long story short I started taking lessons about 2 years ago in an effort to really improve my overall game. I am running between a 7 and 8 handicap with it trending up right now. The good news is when I started taking lessons I was the typical suck it inside on the backswing and OTT on the transition down. Anyway - my pro recently was amazed I had finally really exaggerated the correction and now taking it back and

  6. I shot my personal best for the year today also - 77 from the blues! :) The worse part is I doubled a par 5! UGH
  7. Ok - first to admit that I generally play with folks who are not 100percent by the book but I had a scenario I wonder about. A buddy hits tee shot right and instead of landing right behind a tee the ball falls into a hole in the stump that was there following the course cutting it down. Since the course cut the tree down that caused the stump to be there is that a man made obstacle? Free drop? Thanks!
  8. The one thing I do agree on is that I think it is up to the individual player on where they want to play from. I don't agree though on the "Average tour player hitting 190yards 9 iron". It is the iron striking that is really king. On some of these majors a significant portion of the players have over 200 in for their second shot on a par 4. I hit my 8 iron about 150 to 155 carry depending, so i look at it from that perspective. Even playing 6300 yard tees or > I'm going to have some challenging second shot on long par 4's. I consider that part of the game. http://blog.trackmangolf.c
  9. I hear ya - I do that and the sky pro still shows I am way inside :)
  10. All - Like I said before rather new to the forums and enjoying getting my game back on track. I have picked up the very nasty habit of sucking the club inside on my takeaway and coming over the top aggressively. To the point where it is killing my distance and causing nasty shots including shanks etc. My game has went from peaking at breaking 80 consistently to coming in at 85 or so. I have tried every drill, purchased the sky pro. But for some reason I can not take that to the course. I don't know if it is just a mental block or what. Any other drills that you all feel is most effectiv
  11. I could not agree more - I am working myself through drills now to try and get this together. I do fine at the range but I can not translate that to the course. I have a hard time keeping the club from whipping inside. Any drills that you suggest? Malibu368
  12. I did not read all the post but one of my favorite phrases is "hitagainable"!
  13. I am not sure how many of you use GHIN but I am a new user and the posting is confusing me. Tonight I try to post my score and it appears to take it but then it's not listed? I had league and we play from the whites where my other scores are from further back? Just not sure what it's doing? Any help?
  14. Hello All - My name is Shawn and I am looking forward to becoming an active participant on this board. I have played golf since High School off and on - Here lately I have been playing a lot. I am in the St.Louis, MO area and have a great group of guys I have partnered up with and we have a blast and play often. We went on a golf trip this spring and I was sold wanting to go back and take my daughter and wife. My wife has played a little in the past and has a pretty good swing however I want to get her some playing lessons for her birthday. I was wondering what the thoughts were of GolfT
