  1. Cool it's on the light side aka 340'ish or modern 350'ish? it's a 100bucks sounds like a good deal but need to invest extra on a good grip For the last 5/6 years i've been gaming a few odyssey 9's metal x milled, versa, wht and a few scottys but i want to go back to the basics and always will have good memories of my old bronze anser 2 when i was a junior but want something more modern, don't get along with light putter, maybe i'll give a shot to the vault anser instead
  2. Never heard of an anser with TR milling and old school scripts in the cavity, it is legit? feeling a bit nostalgic and working on my stroke during quarantine so i was looking for an anser 2 on ebay and found this
  3. You just described the Fj pro sl, another opcion but less expensive could be UA performance spikeless
  4. Thanks for all the replies, your input just clarified my doubts, i’m ok with my specs right now cause i’m in the minority that hits up and with good speed. I’ll just keep working with my teacher to stabilized my path and keep my right wrist in control to get more fairways
  5. hahaha the funny thing its that i’m better than avg with my putter (under 30putts from my last 20 rounds) but i miss so many fairways that my GIR is a whole quest
  6. You talk about reading "numerous posts talking about low spinning heads" yet you don't tell us what your spin rate is. You're a 14 handicapper but you don't mention your driving "problem" which one must assume you have or you wouldn't be asking about the driver. So how is anyone supposed to help you ? sorry i’m not an expert in these things. I’ve just check my numbers from my last fitting session almost a year ago and i was hitting it at 13* of launch with 2900 spin and 1.43 ratio. Don’t know if thats good or bad. My driving problem it’s a big low hook but my teacher told my thats a strike issue so it would be more or less the same with any driver, i really don’t test anything newer since 2016 so i’m just basically asking if there’s a real improvement in drivers for someone of my specs in the last few years cause in my area the only brand i could demo is ping but they only carry stiff shafts cause the demand is low so mainly my friends and i shop online You said in your original post that your general miss was a "high toe big hook". So it's a low toe hook ? I can't recall any drivers being sold according to angle of attack. 5* up is quite a bit and while high launch and low spin is a good combination, if you're accentuating your angle of attack solely to gain that high launch, a) it's not working (at 13*) and b) it's been said here on WRX by some instructors that chasing an upward angle of attack often comes at the expense of accuracy, usually not a good tradeoff. At 111 mph you're in "X" territory but I personally think weight is just as, or more, important than stiffness, especially since stiffness is only relative within the same MODEL shaft of the same manufacturer. Possible a "70" weight shaft would work better for you - it would probably reduce your spin rate. But the M1, if I recall correctly, should be a lower spin head and the Rogue Silver, while I'm not familiar with that shaft at all is, I believe a lower spin shaft. That being the case it's quite possible your issues are your swing mechanics and not the equipment. You mention a "teacher". What does he/she say ? All else being equal perhaps you're just standing a bit too far away from the ball (toe hit) and perhaps you need to tee the ball up just a bit higher to offset the low on the face hit. my main miss is a strike high on the face toe side that ends in a low flight snap hook shot. M1 for my limit knowledge its a low spin head, my shaft i really don’t know cause i was fitted for 2 years ago. I really don’t force to hit up on the ball, it’s just natural for me and my teacher said that im too much right handed dominant and i tend to cup my wrist a little bit so we work on motion like Dj and rahm but it’s a new drill, exagerate on bowing the wrist angle shorten the backswing a bit and it’s seems a good call cause i can hit baby fades sometimes but the hooks say hello every now an then so my index is hurting. Maybe i just need to tweak my settings and practice more instead of looking for a new driver

  8. I’m just curious to know what are the best driver options right now for someone who hits up on the ball. I’ve read numerous post talking about low spinning heads and higher moi but not many talks about angle of attack. My avg ss is 111mph, hit +5 up on the ball, swing path mainly in to out and my general miss is high toe big hook. I’m gaming the original m1 460 9.5 head at 8.25 with aldila rogue silver 60x and want to know if i’m missing something against the new offerings
  9. was looking at the Hoofer Lite, anyone use one? my go to bag for carrying the whole 2018, lightweight but with enough room for anything you’ll need in your round. There are lighter options but this one in my opinion has the best proportion of size and weight
  10. I’m quite a fan of golf shoes (had 15 pairs) icons, iBlack, Djs Tour, Djs Casual, Helix, dna 1, tw13, a couple puma’s and wear several adidas pre boost. IMO you can’t beat Dryjoys Tours, super comfortable, classic look, stability, so many size options and they last at least 2/3 seasons
  11. What is your opinion of the nippon since moving on from DG? I am contemplating on making this change myself, with some Mizuno's I am buying next month i found them better feeling and a touch less spin. I move from s300 stock to a modus 120x, hit them same distance but much straight and medium height. If you want something more stout the c tapper’s can be an option but imo, the modus is the best feeling steel shaft i’ve ever hit to date
  12. I’ve gamed the mp53 for the last 5 years and i can say they are uber forgiving, before i was gaming callaway x22 tour and not only didn’t suffer on distance, i’ve gained so much consistency. I recently switch to the i200 cause the grooves were dead and i move on to nippon from DG. Maybe you’ll loose some distance vs D100’s but will gain some consistency
  13. Anyone notice that sergio change his grip? He always played a traditional overlap but i saw him gripping the club more like an interlock at valderrama. Here are some pics last year with TM and from last week in spain with his Rogue
  14. i have all 3 models and the heel of the myjoys it’s a bit more stiff than the dryjoys tour. If you want an overall comparizon i can tell you that the tours are more comfortable in every category but for me, the stability of the icon myjoys is superior, they sit closer to the ground and the footprint is wider so a very stable shoe
  15. don’t know if you’re talking about the same shaft i have in my 3w but if it’s the same i can tell you is one of the best aldila had ever made. Low launch, low/mid spin and pretty stable. The only reason i don’t play it in my driver cause i want something a bit lighter so i have a rogue silver 60x and launch a bit higher
  16. I200 w/modus 120x here, these bad boys replace my mp53 after 7 years in the bag. Less feel (not bad, just not mizuno) but way more forgiving and a tad longer
  17. You can get an r15 or a g30 for a steal right now, search in the BST forum or ebay. If you want to spend a little more m1/2 are solid options, i’m still looking for a real contender to my m1 460
  18. Anything from ping but stretch. If you want an easier fw from the deck go as shallow as you can. IMO you can’t beat g25/30 if you want a bang for the buck, if you want something newer can try g400 or cobra f8 std. Avoid deep fw
  19. Anyone knows why ping doesn’t used carbon in any other drivers since rapture series? Most of us considered ping as a leading company in engineering and not gimmick at all, but whatching the success of TM an Callaway the last few years using carbon crowns i think it’s kinda weird that ping avoid that. I’m not saying that G line its inferior, cause it’s not, but imagine what can they do with carbon and weight saving.
  20. Not all ping (yet) but count me on hoofer bag, g30 19* hy, i200 irons and ketsch cadence tr strong arc. I see myself trying in the future their woods but nothing special on their wedges
  21. I’ve been gaming x2 hot 3+ for the last couple years with no issues even of the deck. Make sure that the shaft don’t play longer than 42.5” thats the key of the deck
  22. Been fitted for putter multiple times - I have a strong arc and I prefer a mallet but they always fit me with a putter (Ping Zing / Odyssey #9) which does not match my eye Also, I have video confirming that I align the putter left and then cut my putts So I decided it was me and not the putter Kept hearing about dirtylarrygolf.com and "the Navigator" training aid For me, I watched video and read reviews - I bought one - with practice and with repetition I now know when I have putter aligned to target (got a good picture in my mind)- making more putts But I must confess I always travel with my Ram Zebra vintage 1975 with its nine alignment lines just in case we decide to play for money!!! - I know it is face balanced and my stroke is strong arc but it works - please remember we don't mark "how" in the box just "how many" actually i end up with the ketsch but strong arc and my back up its a versa 9 with a lot of lead tape. This ketsch has the best of both worlds, great alignment and a good arc that suits my stroke
  23. Ping anser milled 0, lack the feeling of the redwoods, almost priced as a scotty and they’re too light. Sold them after 2 months trying make it work, glad i’ve being able to recover some money
  24. Thanks for all the replies, i went to a fitting session with sam’s lab and end up with a ping ketsch, gosh this putter surprised me, it’s like aim and shoot. I confesed that i’m not in loved with the looks but i can’t complained of the performance
  25. PanchiCab

    Ping putters

For years i have tried to convice myself as someone who played this game for almost 20 years that traditional anser style blades are the best but far from reality, the forgiveness and moi of a mallet does not hurt, saying that for me, one of the best all time is the ketsch, i currently game the cadence tr and last week roll a friend’s vault 2.0 in the putting green, it feels better? Marginaly but i don’t see mine out of the bag anytime soon
