  1. Still looking for views and takes on this really appreciated
  2. 100% concur with this review and conclusions Srixon has nailed this XV in '17 I hope it gets the recognition it deserves this year it is perfection on my mind
  3. Great to hear I am not alone But I am also totally New to Srixon - loyal v1x player last 5 years Was finding it too clicky on putter and tough to dial wedges consistently Finally got the guts to try out new 2017 v1x against old one, srixon xv, b330, tp5x..... XV blew the other 4 away from tee to green AND felt soft putting and like a sandbag with wedge This ball is Perfection for me Srixon should be popping the champagne First thing, great album!! Second, how was the trajectory of the XV compared to the V1x off the irons? Played the V1x last year but I think I'm going to give these try. Thanks and Agreed... I found trajectory similar to v1x, less "clicky" and much better wind management - spin same or better on approach shots I was shocked how much more i liked it didn't expect to, didn't even really want to but i DID definitively
  4. Great please let me know any idea where the Rome fits on those shaft spin/launch matrix charts trhode? i tried pm'ing you on that REALLY appreciated According to Veylix, they are the lowest launch/spin shaft in their line. The 788 was exactly the shaft this player needed to compliment the 688 in the driver. Boring flight off the deck and driver like numbers off the tee. This player has a hard release and fights left on misses. I took both swingweights up to D5 to make him work a bit. Tipped both shafts 1". Heads were both Epic Sub Zero 9° and 15°. Excellent info beyond appreciated any idea how the 688 stiff would rank on one of those dot plots titliest, tailor-made, others have? wish veylx was in there ... love to see it if anyone knows of one cheers morry

  6. Or...drop a 130S down into a 6 iron from either set. Then...within 24 hours of a large range bucket...watch yourself scour the internet for 130S shaft pulls. LOVE this response still struggling with the final decision of 105x vs 130s ..... 130s give me the extra height and spin i desire - bit better ball speed as well but the 105x is so smooth.... any sage advice JJ9000, Mark, Others? they Both "feel" incredible appreciated I played the 120X for 5 years, monkeyed with the 130S and now with the 105X for 2 years. The biggest difference between the 130 and 105 is the obvious "bear" of weight. I just prefer the 105 because of the ease of swinging the lighter overall weight club. I don't feel the need to SWING the club all out every time. It has awaken my long irons with higher ball speed and easier elevation and less fatigue at the end of a long day. My only draw back from a player's perspective is partial shots as heavier clubs will tend to allow more control on less than full shots... I just have to be mindful when executing them. I play the 105 through my 50º gap then S400 in both middle and lofted wedges. thanks appreciated and i hear you I am looking for more height and spin as well - i trap the ball and have a very low launch and spin swing 130 s helps me more in that respect with the more active tip i think that more than makes up for the extra weight in fact, the more active tip gives me better on balance ball speed than the 105x the issue is that the damn 105x is so consistent and smooth to swing as well, i still struggle with the final decision jj9000, Mark, any other sage views solicited please thanks
  7. Rome 588 has been out since last year. In theory, there is a Rome 788, but I have yet to see it. Told JC we need an Alpina 773 and a heavier Rome hybrid. Something over 100g. I have a Rome 788... how is the 788 performing? i have one on order as well thanks

The '17 v1x is the one to test against - try the '17 srixon xv as well - I think those are the best to compare I agree the prov1x has it's hands full finally
  10. 120s/x is far...far...away from PX. Opposite ends of the spectrum...for me. Agree wholeheartedly on this 120 was a disaster for my late release 105 x and 130 s are both excellent, but different paths to nirvana Good luck Mark is the authority on the topic I would defer to his detailed take Cheers

  13. wondering why more people aren't signing the praises of this ball new proV's, new tp5x are getting a lot of attention this gem off the driver, irons, wedge, wind, putter......i think it's the best new package out there for performance metrics... am i missing something?
  14. one of the best tests/reports i have read i am debating project (a) vs tp5 and this is extremely helpful much appreciated
  15. Any project (a) users out there with a take? Thank you

Help please Really want to access some views Appreciated
  18. I am not finding that at all, but agree everyone different V1x feels too clicky on chips to me, whereas the Xv feels like I am lobbing a sandbag Confidence inspiring to say the least I really was shocked

    Taylormade TP5

Read a ton of tp5x reviews on length and spin Looking for tp5 commentary 83 compression is more what I am looking for - softer with wedge and putter Like a Project (a), but more distance and wind management Similar spin on irons and wedges though Any insight appreciated
  20. I'd say Modus 130 Stiff, possibly soft-stepped once. I like the thought of the same characteristics but not sure about going up 9 grams in weight. Would rather go down in weight than up. I was pxi 6.0 105 x ss1 and 130s ss1 were my 2 finalists Ultimately went with 130s ss1 as my lag/trap release suited it's kick better Both shafts unreal The 105x ss1 might be perfect for you and it is 112g I believe
  21. This ball is incredible Bites greens on wedges, ignores wind and is as long as tp5x and '17 V1x Upside surprise for sure What is wrong with this ball? Anyone?
  22. Great feedback Appreciated I was simply trying to determine if switching from a 70 compression to a 83 (tp5) or 90 ('17proV1) would be a good competitive call for her Project (a) has been great Just looking for some advice, experience and that elusive edge we all seek Thanks Any other views or observations welcome please Lots of data and views out here Seeking views and takes Please Thanks
  23. They must have just been tried of seeing it on page 1. The DG AMT thread is still in tour / pre-release and going strong even though those shafts have come retail for a while now. Agreed How did that happen? It was perfect there What a shame Someone...should complain

  25. Great - thank you Did you find the tp5 softer and more manageable on approach shots / putting though? Or Did coming from a pro v or 2 piece make you more comfortable with hardness? Appreciated
