  2. I’ll add Bayberry Hills in West Yarmouth, which hasn’t been mentioned above. I played it last week for the first time in years. The course was in very good and is a good layout. They also have a good practice area. I’m also a fan of Olde Barnstable, both Dennis courses, Captains, and Cranberry Valley.
  3. Here’s a new twist in the International closing saga. Hopefully, the club gets sold to someone that will maintain the golf courses and bring some stability to the operations. The two courses are very good. It would be a shame to see homes built or some other use come of the land.https://www.telegram.com/news/20200325/owners-say-international-golf-club-in-bolton-hasnt-closed-permanently
  4. Chris975D provided a lot of first hand info about fit throughout this thread. I ordered the dark blue Norse II in L and XL from TGW. I thought the XL was going to be what I needed based on what I read here and Ping’s size charts. I wear size L in almost all of the major apparel brands. I’m definitely between sizes in Ping outwear. The large is perfect through the shoulders, chest and sleeves and a bit snug in the midsection but not uncomfortably so. The XL is a bit looser fit overall but the sleeves are too long for me. I will probably keep the L.
  5. Dana’ son, Devon, was in a near fatal car accident in 2011. That played a role in his retirement from the Champions Tour. https://www.providencejournal.com/article/20130623/LIFESTYLE/306239951
  6. I wanted to thank everyone for their input. I was fortunate to get on the Old Course on Friday by lining up early morning. It was amazing. It was also without a doubt the most difficult conditions I have ever played as the wind was blowing 30-40 mph the entire round. I also played the Jubilee course on Saturday morning, which was also a great course just without the history and fanfare of the Old Course. It was an experience I won’t ever forget and I can’t wait to go back some day.
  7. I wanted to say thanks for the info everyone provided to answer my questions. I booked a stay at the Russell hotel near St. Andrews. Hopefully I’ll luck out and get on TOC. Either way, I’m excited for my visit next week.

  9. I’m going to be in Edinburgh on business the week of October 7. I’ll be done with my work commitments on Thursday and I’m debating staying the weekend. I have a few questions I’m hoping some can provide answers. 1. It seems the bus or train would be an option from Edinburgh to St. Andrews. Any opinions on which is easier and will having my golf travel bag be an issue? 2. Any guesses on my chancees of getting out on TOC on Friday or Saturday as a single? 3. Other than TOC Hotel any recommendations for a good place to stay as a single. Thanks for any insight.
  10. Freddy has a lifetime clothing contract with Ashworth. Hw has always worn classy shirts from them. i was a big fan of Ashworth shirts for a long time. They died a slow death after being bought by TaylorMade and then Adidas acquiring TM. They’ve been gone for a few years now though their surplus is still being sold through various outlets.
