  1. Nevel Meade is really good and very open. Heritage Hill is also nice, but a touch more difficult. If you want a really nice course, but a tough test, try Chariot Run in Indiana near the Caesar's casino.
  2. I might be interested in the head only if you have someone for the shaft.
  3. Sorry. Just got the bad news. I am trying to stay away from the courses in populated areas as a whole new type of golfer has emerged. Those courses are crowded and slow as everyone is worried about their girlfriend or music or beer and not playing golf. Purgatory has been a nice escape from that (so far).
  4. Short notice but I'm playing Purgatory today at 3. Lost the two who were supposed to join me to a work issue. Anyone up for joining?
  5. I preferred Blackthorn. Warren is very flat, especially on the front, and Blackthorn has some interesting elevation changes. Warren definitely has the better pedigree if you’re into that, and to be fair so played it in the rain, so I likely didn’t get the full experience there.
  6. I enjoy Ackerman myself, but I usually end up playing both when I drive up there. I consider Ackerman to be most similar to the Fort and Prairie View and Kampen to be more like Trophy Club and the front 9 at Bear Slide. As stated above, both are great courses and virtually always in tremendous condition.
  7. If you’re willing to drive an a bit over an hour, look into the Purdue University courses in Lafayette. Two of the best public courses in Indiana with extremely good conditions. Well worth the drive and better than any public course named so far. That being said, you’ll enjoy Bear Slide, Purgatory and the Fort. If you need another in close vicinity, consider Golf Club of Indiana or Fox Prairie. Both are a step below the three above, but within 15 mins of the area you mention and are in good shape.
  8. It’s worth the cost once to see the holes inside the track and say you’ve done it. After that, I’d rather play Bear Slide and Purgatory for my $130.
  9. Southern Dunes is my favorite round before the airport as it is on the right side of town, but hard to argue with Wickenburg Ranch, Quintero or Dinosaur Mountain. Verrado would also be an easy trip to the airport (play Founders over Victory).
  10. Is Sand Valley too far? If not, play Mammoth Dunes, as it is very wide open and forgiving, but still a very memorable experience.
  11. I enjoyed our trip to Tucson (from a pure golf perspective). We flew into Phoenix (played one round there) and drove down. While we were there we played Star Pass, Dove Mountain (twice), Sewailo and Ventana Canyon. Aside from golf, we didn't like the food and/or nightlife anywhere near as much as Scottsdale, but with COVID, this may be the year to go. Be sure to have beer out by the firepit at Dove Mountain as the sun sets over the driving range. Very cool place.
  12. If you have concerns, order the set with loose grips. Then you can confirm and adjust everything easier and apply the grips exactly the way you like.
  13. I had Deal Pass from TEE-Off. When Golfnow bought them, they switched me over to Golf Pass. The benefits were nowhere near as good. I immediately called them and they refunded my pro-rated membership. They didn't even put up a fight. I think their plan is to give a ton of benefits up front to get people signed up on auto-renew, downgrade the benefits over time, and hope that no one notices or cancels. Of course, for those that call them on it, they know they don't have a leg to stand on so they refund you. I'm not impressed with the direction of GolfNow over the years, but i
  14. If you like Club Glove towels, this is a much bigger towel and a similiar material for the same price. I have used a few of these exclusively for a couple years now. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ERUMFLK/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_6?smid=A1RKELVBY446LD&psc=1
