  1. I think I will try to trade it in for a 10 deg bounce with the S grind (same as 56). Next question is how much/little difference is it going to be from my 60? I really like hitting a 3/4 56 from about 90 yds, but struggle with distance control inside of that. Yes, I need to PRACTICE, but just don't!
  2. My 56 is a vokey sm7 S grind with 10 bounce. I like it, am very comfortable hitting it from 100 and in.
  3. So I play ap2 718 irons with 52, 56, 60 wedges. I know that may not be the optimum wedges for my iron set, but they are what I am use to and comfortable with, at least the 52 and 56. The 60 however, I rarely use unless I need to get one up quick. I won a 58 in a tourney today with a 12 bounce and would like to play it. I don't usually take a big divot, more of a sweeper. Should I play it or trade for less bounce?
  4. I called customer service but got a recording saying they were no longer taking calls due to the F-ing virus...
  5. Today I hit one off the toe a bit and de ted/cracked the face of my ping g400 3 wood! I just got this off ebay this winter and was really starting to like it...I called ping customer service and they said they were no longer taking calls due to the damn virus! I can't seem to find an email on their website for this sort of thing, so am I going to have to take it to a dealer even though I didnt purchase it from them?
  6. FX something or other from pawn shop Callaway Big Bertha Taylormade Tour Burner Taylormade Rocketbladez Tour Titleist AP2 718
  7. Never said I was excellent with a 3 iron, nor any club for that matter haha! I have a 3 hybrid but waiver in and out of liking it and hating it! I tend to get the pulls with it. I don't hit my 3 iron off the deck much, mostly off the tee on shorter par 4s.
  8. I'm not opposed to that, but don't have any shops close that I would trust to do it. I could probably get my money back if I sold it and just bought a stiff.
  9. 4 iron is 24 and 3 is 19 (I think per google). I don't launch my long irons super high, but do well enough. Driver swing speed has dropped a bit over the last few years, but still swinging it 108-110.
  10. This winter I bought some 718 ap2s 4-gw with stiff AMT s300 shafts. They were a demo set and didnt have a 3 iron, so instead of just finding a 3 iron in the set, I went with a little forgiveness. Settled on a p790 with an X stiff KBS tour flt. I'm having trouble getting much distance out if this p790, to the point where I can't carry it any further than the ap2 4 iron, about 210 yds. It just seems pretty hard to elevate, but even when I do and strike it well, I just don't get the distance. Swing speed isn't an issue, so I went with the x stiff, probably shouldn't have. What do y'all think,
  11. 100 is 3/4 52, 120 is full 52...if I don't chunk it.
  12. Just bought a p790 3 iron with an x stiff KBS for $100...I'll let you know how it goes after a play a few rounds.
  13. So I game Titleist ap2 718 (4-p). I was looking into driving irons, but now have thought maybe just going with a 3 iron. I wouldn't be opposed to the ap2 3 iron, but was leaning towards something more forgiving. Has anyone compared the ap3 718 with the p790? Thanks!
  14. This is good to know! Thanks! I have an itchy trigger finger when it comes to shafts!
  15. The srixon 785 have a good bevel from what I've seen. Also if you are looking titleist, I havent hit the T100 yet, but they really improve the turf interaction on the ap2 718 from the 716.
  16. Update: After playing with the stock 55g alta stiff since August, I actually like it pretty well. I haven't had the "snaps" yet and seem to be fairly consistent so far (knock on wood!). I think it is the weight that inlike the most, but would still be willing to try something else...
  17. So I need a new putter to go with the new bag (leave the old putter with the back-up bag). Currently I use an old Odyssey Pro #7 which is why I like the look of the ping tyne sigma 2. Not looking to break the bank here, so I'm looking used... I could always re-grip my old Rossie 2 for a back-up, but what other options do people like?
  18. I've gamed the TM Rocketbladez Tour irons the last 5 years. I recently moved about 20 miles from my home course so I "obviously" needed a backup set (for when I'm still working in town, but decide to play on any random day). I leave these at my dad's house. A few weeks ago I picked up a set of barely hit demo ap2 718's that I will keep at home with me to play the course nearest to me. I thought about getting the same irons I had, but what's the fun in that...Main thing in looking for a new set was similar lofts for distances/gapping. The ap2's are awesome btw, and will be my main set. Ve
  19. Sounds like it's mostly in your head...I go through phases like that where I despise my driver and hit 4 iron off the box a lot, but my course is fairly short. I second the lesson or two advise! No reason to lose all that distance.
  20. My irons are titleist ap2 718 (4-p), has anyone tinkered with say a ap3 718 3 iron? Or should I just find an ap2 718 3 iron?
  21. Just started with the ap2 718, really soft. Quite forgiving, but can definitely feel the misfits more than my old rocketbladez tour irons. Love them so far, cant speak for the mizunos, have only hit the mp18, which I didnt really care for.
  22. I've always been a Taylormade guy, but since I got my g400 max driver I'm really interested in the 3 wood...seems to me that a lot of comments on here don't have much bad to say about the g400.
