  1. My hang up comes right from their main page with this quote: "Designed to compete with Titleist ProV1, Callaway Hex Chrome, Vice Pro, and other major tour balls." Callaway Hex Chrome? Callaway hasnt used that name for their premium ball in many years, so what rock did these guy crawl out from under when writing their website??
  2. I played with a twosome where one of the guys had PXG clubs, it was apparently his second round with them. Every time he would hit a bad shot his buddy would yell "PXG!!" in his loudest and best Bob Parsons impression. Darn near keeled over laughing! It did get old after the 18th time.....
  3. That wide blade!! Be still my heart!
  4. Your clubs are probably a lot nicer than mine! I did get a new M6 driver, so that bad boy will stay covered. My Top Flite 3w (which I actually hit pretty well so I wont replace) can go naked sometimes.
  5. Skipping step #3 is a good way. I dont keep my headcovers on when in a cart sometimes and on a smooth course, so they have fallen out. I also haphazardly toss them when I take them off so I may leave it behind if its not right in front of my face. Ive also lost one right in front of a clubhouse that someone pocketed.
  6. Or sell them on eBay to people like me who tend to lose headcovers all the time!

    White Hot OG?!

I never understood those. Are they tour quality 100% GSS? Or is there just a circle T stamp on them that triples the price?

    White Hot OG?!

Im in the market for a milled putter, if you noticed my other threads/replies. Last night I went to practice my White Hot RX #1 and made so many putts I was wondering why I feel like I need to spend money?

    White Hot OG?!

It does seem to be that way. If someone has a milled putter for $300-350, why not spend a little more for the Scotty. That is what surprises me so much about the Toulon's being $450, I love the look of them but why not spend less for a Cameron?
  10. Is there a reason we care about all this?? LOL The elite players in the world get exactly what they want, even if its not traditional or what "should" work. Makes no difference to us weekend hackers.

    White Hot OG?!

My big question for Odyssey/Callaway is why dont they make a fully milled putter cheaper than their Toulon Line?! Would love to see one in the $250-300 range to compete with Ping and Mizuno and undercut SC. Also that White Hot OG looks nice.....
  12. You can also go to the SC website and go to the putter archive for pictures of every putter they have made to get an accurate comparison.
  13. I like to skim my putter just above the surface of the green. A short face might not be the best for me but I still have to try it out.
  14. Thanks for all the replies! Kind of what I was expecting. Also given that if I buy a 18/19 used i won’t be able to test it I think the safer bet is to go try out the 2020 in store and see how I like it before pulling the trigger.
  15. Thanks. That would be what I would think.
  16. Hi everyone, I’m looking to put a Scotty in the bag as I want a milled face putter for the feel over the insert I currently have. I like the looks of the 2018 and 2019 Newports but am curious on the feel of the new 2020 vs those with the “insert.” I can test the 2020 in the store but if I go with a used 18/19 it will be sight unseen. I’m looking for a firm feel. Thanks for any help if you have played both! I’m also thinking of the square back so same question on feel. The 18/19 square back doesn’t have a plumbed neck but I love the dual tone face look. If I can snag one o
  17. Personal preference. I always thought I liked a soft putter, until I rolled a few with a nice hard "click" at impact and now im searching for a new one.
  18. I too am thinking of doing similar, just blade to wide blade. I want a milled putter for the feel so why not a Scotty. I would like a classic Newport because I love the look of blades. I currently have a blade insert putter but when I practice with a mallet, I feel my stroke is better. So this leads me to thinking the SC squareback would be a nice middle point. Thoughts?
  19. Watching Hatton now. Any shot that is less than perfect, even minor misses, get him all pissy and slamming his club into the ground or green. Unenjoyable to watch. Nothing but complaining and temper tantrums.
  20. In my bag I have a mix of Callaway superhot bold in red and Kirkland K3. I honestly never noticed a difference but I never tested for it either. Does anyone have a stimpmeter to take to a green and check?
  21. Hit it in the fairway, problem solved! Now, only if I could take my own advice...... No need to make balls more expensive and complicated. If its lost, drop and move along. We have a 3 minute search rule that gets ignored by every amateur out there. THAT is what I want to see the course rangers enforcing. They see a group start looking, start the clock!
  22. I was having a similar issue with some of my low bounce wedges. They were great to open up but on a square shot, they could dig in. I play Callaway wedges so I cant comment on the grinds since you have Vokey. I went up in bounce on all my wedges to give more forgiveness on square shots. The open face shots are amazing when you pull them off but the margin for error is much higher than hitting it square. My gap wedge has 10* of bounce and my SW is 12* with a wide sole. The extra bounce is more forgiving on square shots but still lets me lay the club pretty open. Try going up just 2* of bounce t
  23. Then you will plateau at a certain level of play and start to get out less! Although, two full rounds a months is pretty slow month as it is, hell, I played 36 yesterday!
  24. I never play with anything on the line, so first guy to the box gets to hit. I understand in competitive play. I myself tuck in my shirt 80% of the time or more. When I dont tuck in my shirt I have a few golf shirts that are on the shorter side that I will wear so I dont look too goofy. I do like looking presentable on the course. If invited to a nicer course than my usual haunts I will always step it up.
  25. Golf should only be played as ready golf. No one cares who hits first from the tee. Also, who cares about an untucked shirt? Its more comfortable half of the time anyway. Lighten up Francis! As long as you are polite on the course and treat the course and playing partners with respect nothing else matters.
