  1. Do the top pros have magnets in their ball and are there magnets under the green and/or near the hole?
  2. Or at least perhaps pull out the 3 wood more often. He’s not so hideous with it. Perhaps try a Rickie and chop the driver down to 43.5”. Worked for me. My driving got radically better when I went to 43.5” 22 years ago. Yep... To his credit, he's never been all that straight with his driver, but the competition is younger and better than it used to be, so he needs to learn to adapt because his margin for error is much smaller.
  3. 9 is one long arse par 4 though Even so... A 4 iron in the middle of the fairway at 225 is much better than going from right fairway bunker to the left rough and leaving yourself a difficult 10 footer for par.
  4. And the Cringe Award of 2018 goes tooo.....
  5. f***! I'm starting to think Tiger should leave the driver in the bag if it's not a par 5... I think if he had simply hit a long iron off the tee at 18, he would of had a bogey free round....
  6. why did u try to stop her? that would have been awkward It definitely would have been awkward, but at the time it looked like a toddler running away from her mother. I didn't try to that hard, just gestured towards her. No way in hell I'm trying to stop someone else's kid from running at a player, that's their parent's job....
  7. It's a combination of solid impact with a square club face, club head speed, and forward shaft lean (which delofts the club). /thread
  8. Thanks for the replies guys! There'll be flying pigs throwing snowballs in hell before he wins another major, much less five. He probably has six realistic chances to win a major before he turns 50 ("realistic" defined as ideal course setup in which he plays himself into contention on Sunday). After he doesn't win the PGA this year he will be 43 years old when the Masters rolls around in 2019. 43 years old with a whack-a-mole golf game against an entire Tour full of guys who not only don't fear him, they relish the thought of beating him? Yeah it ain't happening. The astonishing thing is
  9. If you could go thirty years into the future, do you think you would be more surprised to discover Tiger Woods had won 4 more majors (starting from today's date) or to discover Phil had won 4 more majors?
  10. It's not different if the parent knows their kid is getting restless yet continues to keep them in close proximity to the players. Your point about having a cold is a good one... If I knew I'd been sneezing and coughing all day, I'm not going to be anywhere where I could reasonably guess a player will need to hit from. As a rule, I generally try to stay home when I'm sick, as any reasonable person does.....
  11. Good point, but what ball was he playing? Not that it would matter, much... Maybe another 15 yards or so, which would still be long for a 3 wood. Three wood? Oh dang, I was looking at the size of the club head...
  12. It would have to be a combination between 2000/2001 Tiger Woods + Ben Hogan in his prime. Ben's balance and rhythm, Tiger's athleticism and speed.
  13. That's a little different... If he wants to allow his own kid to bug him during his round, that's his problem. The kid who was disrupting Xander's pre-shot wasn't his, and therefore shouldn't have been his problem. But the mom was too daft to understand that apparently. Nothing to do with empathy... Do you want someone else's kid repeatedly disrupting you while you're trying to concentrate at your job? If you were about to close an important deal, no doubt you would close the door or create a sound barrier of some sort between and someone's kid who kept bothering you. The thing is that t
