  1. So I just saw on their website that they are offering what they call an “LD” version of their new releases. LD stands for long drive and they come standard at 47 in. They also come with an adapter that lets you go down in loft 2 degrees instead of the normal 1, which is exactly what I was looking for. My problem with that, however, is that they are only offering a certain number of shafts to go with said model. Not their full available lineup they offer with the regular drivers. Can you get those adapters anywhere else? Also, I was so looking forward to the TD model release but seeing as
  2. Thanks for the heads up! I’ll keep a look out and keep checking Callaways website for any updates on outdoor fittings. The panhandle is not too far away at all (I once flew to Arizona for a putter fitting, though that was before I was married). Besides, nothing like a quiet little 4 hour drive down I-10.
  3. Got a chance to hit the LS today; not outside, but on an indoor trackman. Out of all the drivers to release this year I was looking forward to this one the most. I like Callaway and this driver seemed to check off all the things I would be looking for in a club. After about an hour and half, (and about a dozen shafts) I just couldn’t help but be disappointed. It was slow, spinny, and very left bias. I was lucky to get in the mid 160s ball speed (most were high 150s, low 160s) and when I did, it was just launching too high and then just falling straight down. Hit both the 10.5 and the 9 i
  4. A Callaway fitting? I can’t seem to find one in my area (ponte vedra) and there’s usually a dozen around me this time of year. I hope they don’t push the fittings in my area till March, that’ll be a real bummer.
  5. The whole debate as to taylormades tipping policy seems to be finally coming to an end. I was was told the same thing by a TM fitter last September that they only tip the custom shafts, not the standard ones.
  6. TGW has the names of pings new putters listed on their website under the “putters, ping, new” section. No pictures as of yet but it’s probably just a matter of days. Looks like one of the new models is called Hardwood, and a couple reboots of some older models.
  7. Thanks for the info guys. Might have to just bite the bullet and pay for an up charge. I hit the fuji pro spec good in a taylormade I had so ill probably just go with that one again. As to pricing: Anyone know why sites like tgw have custom shafts marked cheaper than callaway sells them directly? Does tgw install them themselves?
  8. What is the stiffest non-upcharge shaft that callaway offers in their wood lineup? I got a chance to Hit the aldila rogue 70 and the tip was too active for my taste. Maybe the hzrdus yellow?
  9. There might be a video on a popular video site that has pictures and specs of all of the new 425 drivers and it might be in Chinese. I can’t confirm that though.
  10. Thanks for the info rox. I was hoping to keep the stated loft but open the face as it seems too shut at address. I’m ok with adjusting the loft a little bit but it’s the upright lie angle that I hate. More experimenting definitely needed.
  11. If I were to put a left handed adapter on a right handed Cobra wood set to standard, would the club face set open at address?
  12. Anybody know when PING usually unveils their new bag lineup? Looking for a new stand-bag and want to see the new styles before I purchase one.
  13. Thanks guys. That’s exactly the information I was looking for. Really appreciate it.
  14. When playing a counter balanced shaft in one of the new TS models or Ping models, are you supposed to add weight to the head to get the desired counter balancing feel or just play it as is? Does a counter balanced shaft automatically lower the standard swing weight as stated by the manufacturer?
  15. > @Titletown said: > does anybody know why they took it off their website? was it just a limited release? Came here to ask the same thing. I had the credit card all ready to go and then see that the diamonds aren’t there anymore. Real bummer.
  16. When I play by myself I always check-in before I get my clubs out of my car then go back and get them. It’s a little extra walking time but I got my clubs stolen when I was in high school and have been paranoid ever since. Some real golfing horror stories in this thread. Looks like my paranoia is not going away anytime soon.
  17. That guy is more into showing off himself than the clubs he’s hitting.

  19. There’s a PGA Superstore in my area where they just let people hit balls willy nilly without assistance or supervision. I’m surprised stuff like this doesn’t pop up more often with the kind of abuse those demo drivers are put through at those stores. I don’t see this being that big a problem for TM but it might change the way the retailers let their customers demo their product. Or it might change what tees they decide to use in those hitting booths. M5 is a good driver. I doubt this will stop very many people from buying one but it most likely be a pain in the a** for the retailers.
  20. Man that’s disappointing. I just ordered a 4-w of the 919 tours and I specifically didn’t get a 3 iron because I thought for sure that they were out coming with a fli-hi version. I thought I saw a picture on here of one somewhere? Oh well.
  21. This is the best looking, best feeling driver I’ve ever hit in my life but I just can’t get the spin down. It’s 20 yards shorter than my old sub zero and that’s being generous. It is a big time fairway finder though. I’ve played 7 rounds with it and it’s almost scary how straight it goes. I’ll look up after a bad strike expecting the ball to be left of cart path and it ends up left center fairway. But I just can’t get by how much it spins. It’s one of those situations where I’ll get to my ball and it will be sitting about 4 feet behind it’s ballmark. I am looking forward to the new lst
  22. Thanks for taking the time to answer bud. You’ve set my mind at ease!
  23. i want to order a driver from Taylormade with the shaft tipped an inch. My question is: does TM already tip their shaft an inch as a standard practice? I ask because, obviously, I don’t want a shaft to arrive tipped 2 inches. I apologize for asking this as I know it has been discussed on this site before but after reading through what I could I still couldn’t find a solid answer. Anyone know for sure?
  24. Based in Florida. Thanks for the info. I’m just a little antsy because this is the last weekend I’ll be able to play a lot before the time changes and I wanted my driver before then. Patience is a virtue right?
  25. Anyone heard anything about Titleist having a backorder on ts3 8.5 heads? I placed an order a couple of weeks ago and called to inquire about delivery and was told buy the person I bought it from that they were running short of them. Just trying to figure out if the salesman is telling the truth or just forgot to place the order. I only ask because I check this forum religiously and it seems I would have heard something if that was the case.
