  1. It definitely varies from person to person (cool reading through this thread already and seeing the different takes every has on the subject). If it's worth it to you, then you will pay whatever amount of money it costs. Some people like cars, boats, hunting, etc. I just chose golf. Any hobby these days takes time and/or money. My club is less than a mile away, has no tee times, is (fairly) inexpensive, and moving to a new state knowing no one but my wife has given me a lot of close friends and a place where most everyone knows me (good or bad). Sure, my wife gets on me ever
  2. Original Sim Ti rocket (14*) is the longest three wood I've ever hit and it's pretty damn forgiving. I'm a bit longer than you, driver is about 270-280 (total) off the tee and the sim is not too far behind it. I use it off the tee and the deck comfortably. Paired with the right shaft it's the lowest spin and launching three wood I've tested.
  3. I play the Ventus Black 6X and it really agrees with me, so as others have noted that is definitely an option; it's not boardy at all and feels to me like it has a fairly active release. That being said, I played the Tensei Pro White 60TX the last two years and definitely think it has a more active feel than the ventus black. It has a softer handle profile which does take a few swings to get used to but it was definitely low spin.
  4. I was a frequent buyer/seller of putters (because it's fun and because I'm a bit of a basket case) until I decided to just have someone tell me what I should use. I went through a SAM fitting and ended up with a toulon austin that I love/d. I putted with the toulon for around 2 years. I play off a 1.5 but did not break par during those two years. I saw a blade putter on the BST for a good price and it had no alignment aids on it, just naked, and thought it would be cool to try (also great price). First round out with it I shot 68 and it's been in the bag since. Has it made m
  5. Would definitely agree with the ventus black. I play the ventus in my driver and the atmos black in my 3-wood (have played it in driver previously) but I find the ventus to feel much more similar to the motore speeder than the atmos does.
  6. 1. City, State? Halethorpe, Maryland 2. Handicap? 1.6 3. Current Wedge Set Up? Vokey SM8 4. What SMS Wedge Do You Want To Test? 60 Degree C-Grind 5. Are you able to test equipment on a golf course with one week of its receipt? Yes 6. Do you agree to participate in an ongoing testing thread, posting reviews and photos? Yes
  7. Original Sim Ti. Honestly the longest and lowest spin fairway I've ever had (with the right shaft of course). Really loved the Tsi3, I think you're spot on saying that it is just a well-rounded performer and I really enjoyed the feel of it personally. I was excited to hit the 425 now that the turbulators are gone and I've always liked the lower profile of ping fairways but it actually spun considerably more than both the sim and tsi3. At the end of the day I don't argue with numbers or course results and the OG sim beat out sim2, tsi3, and 425.
  8. As much as I love the styling and looks of the Premieres, I couldn't find a combination of size and width that gave me a confident fit. Picked up a pair of the Traditions instead and couldn't be happier. Really light and comfortable to walk in with a classic saddle look.
  9. Citristrip to take the old paint off. Then model paint as stated above.
  10. Ran into GG today to try get sizing right for a pair of FJ Packard's and saw the new Cole Haan's, actually had to do a double take on them. Threw a pair on and they are just as comfortable as the originalgrand dress shoes, just with soft spikes which isn't really my preference. If they do more than dip their toes into the golf shoe game and come out with some different colorways I may break down and get some.
